Exploring Missions at JAARS: Young Nak Presbyterian Church of Toronto

This is a mission training program provided to a church in a customized way. The second team from a Korean-Canadian church this year, Young Nak Presbyterian Church of Toronto (Rev. Minho Song, senior pastor) will have the training at the JAARS centre between June 29 and July 3. Please pray for all of the participants to experience God's mission in special ways and apply what they will have learned to their daily lives. Pray also that Gyoojun and Jinsook Lee, along with JAARS staff, will serve and lead the team well. 

잘스 선교 훈련 여행: 토론토영락교회

잘스 선교 훈련 프로그램은 참가하시는 분들과 현지의 상황등을 감안하여 맞춤식으로 제공됩니다. 캐나다 한인교회중 금년에 두 번째로 참가하는 토론토영락교회 (송민호 담임목사) 팀이 6월 29일부터 7월 3일까지의 일정으로 참가합니다. 참가자 모두가 이번 여행을 통하여 주실 하나님의 은혜를 경험하고, 배우며 도전받은 것을 삶에 잘 적용할 수 있도록, 이번 행사를 인도할 이규준, 한진숙 선교사와 잘스 스탭들이 잘 준비하여 영락교회팀을 은혜로 섬길 수 있도록, 건강과 여행중 안전을 위하여도 기도해주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward this item or post it anywhere online)

T Project: The first three Scripture portions in the T language are underway:  Ruth; Creation, Adam and Eve; and Noah. By mid-summer, all three will have been translated, reviewed by people in the community and revised. Then in mid-August, the T translation team will meet face-to-face for a week with a translation consultant to go carefully through the texts, checking that the translation is accurate and meaningful. Please pray for God’s protection over the team and their work. Pray that these first Scripture portions will be ready for distribution in the winter—and that they will have a transforming impact upon those who read them.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

T 프로젝트: T 부족어의 처음 세 가지 성경, 즉  룻기; 창조, 아담과 이브; 그리고 노아의 쪽번역이 진행중입니다. 여름중 이 세 가지는 모두 번역되고, 마을 사람들에 의해 검토되며, 수정됩니다. 그 후 8월 중순에 T번역팀은 번역 컨설턴트와 한 주간 동안 직접 만나 본문을 꼼꼼히 살펴보면서 번역의 정확도와 의미를 점검하게 됩니다.. 팀원들과 사역을 위하여, 그리고 이 첫 번째 쪽 성경이 겨울에 배포될 준비를 잘 할 수 있도록, 이 말씀을 읽는 사람들의 삶이 변혁되도록 기도해주세요.

“JESUS” Film workshop: Solomon Islands

Praise the Lord for the successful “JESUS” Film workshop in May in Honiara, Solomon Islands. Personnel form the “JESUS” Film, the Solomon Islands Translation Advisory Group* and the Bible Translation and Literacy Partnership Solomon Islands worked together in this workshop. People from eight language groups worked on their scripts to prepare for the recording of the “JESUS” Film. Pray for these teams as they check the scripts and get ready for recording in the coming months. *Solomon Islands Translation Advisory Group (SITAG) is an advisory group under SIL Pacific to assist local language development projects in the Solomon Islands.

“예수 영화” 워크샵: 솔로몬 제도

솔로몬 제도 호니아라에서 지난 5월 “예수” 영화 워크샵을 성공적으로 마친 것 감사드립니다. 이 모임은 예수 영화 사역자들, 솔로몬 제도 번역 자문위원회*, 솔로몬 제도 성경 번역 및 문해 협회가 함께 동역한 행사였는데, 여덟 개 언어부족이 예수 영화 녹음을 위한 대본 번역 작업을 했습니다. 이 팀들이 앞으로 몇 달동안 대본을 점검하고 녹음을 준비하는 일을 위해 기도해주세요. *솔로몬 제도 번역 자문위원회는 SIL 태평양 산하 단체로 솔로몬 제도의 현지 언어 개발 프로젝트를 돕는 일을 한다.

Training and staffing need: Solomon Islands

Praise the Lord for the successful training program that the Island Bible Ministries (IBM) is providing to Solomon Islanders. Founder and director for IBM, Dr. Alpheaus Zobule and his staff are offering courses in Bible exegesis, computer skills, study skills and English grammar. The training is primarily designed for translators in the Solomon Islands but many other people are finding these courses helpful for their careers as well. Over 200 people are enrolled in this year’s courses. There is need for more teaching staff to join the school. Pray for the Lord’s provision for this staffing need.

훈련과 필요한 인력: 솔로몬 제도

제도 성경 사역회 (IBM) 가 솔로몬 제도에서 훈련 프로그램을 성공적으로 마친것 하나님께 감사드립니다. IBM의 설립자이자 대표인 조불 박사와 사역팀이 주석학, 컴퓨터 사용법, 학습법, 영문법 코스를 제공합니다. 이 훈련은 원래 솔로몬 제도 번역가들을 위해 마련된 훈련 과정이지만 금년에만 200 명 이상이 등록을 하는 등 다른 이들도 이 훈련을 통해 유익을 얻고 있습니다. 교수진이 더 필요한 상황인데 주께서 이 필요를 채워주시도록 손모아주세요.

JAARS CrossVenture Explore is July 5–7. Pray staff will effectively impart God’s heart for unreached peoples. Ask that participants will grow in their understanding of missions and Bible translation.
