Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea

The Parks thank God that they were able to participate in the Translation Consultant Training Workshop in Oct-Nov. In November, Joseph attended the Wycliffe World Prayer Day and Bible Sunday service at Ukarumpa, where he prayed that he would effectively continue his work in Bible translation. He also participated in the dedication of 29 Bible materials (books, audio and video) produced during this year in PNG. Please pray that three young female translators who are joining the team will work well with the existing three members of the team. Ask God for safety in various events (sports games, singing, etc.) that will be held in the village during December. Pray also for the team checking chapters 13-24 of Luke in the village. Recently, Joyce was diagnosed with a herniated disk and the Parks are looking for God's guidance on what to do for treatment. Please pray.

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 카니누와 부족 성경번역, 파푸아뉴기니

지난 10-11월에 걸쳐, 오랫동안 기다려 왔던 성경번역 자문위원 훈련 웍샵에 잘 참여한 것 감사드립니다. 11월에는 우까룸빠 본부에서 위클리프 세계기도의 날과 성서 주일 예배에 참석하여, 오직 하나님의 은혜로 이 귀한 사역의 책무를 감당할 수 있음을 되새기며 기도하는 시간을 가졌고, PNG 에서 올 한해 동안 29개의 성경 자료 (책, 오디오, 비디오) 들을 함께 봉헌하는 감동도 겸험했습니다. 3명의 젊은 여성 번역가 후보생들이 기존의 번역가들과 함께 잘 협력할 수 있도록, 마을에서 진행중인 누가복음 13-24잘의 팀 점검이 잘 진행되도록, 12월중 마을에서 진행될 여러가지 행사들 (체육경기들, 노래 부르기등) 중 안전을 지켜주시도록 손모아주세요. 최근에 조선향 선교사가 허리 디스크로 진단을 받아 치료를 위해 앞으로 어떻게 해야 할지 하나님의 인도하심을 바라봅니다. 기도해주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

T Project: Over 300 children are currently studying in the multilingual education schools in the T area, and the local language organization is advocating the use of the mother tongue in other government and private schools. Beginning with T gives a solid foundation of literacy which enables T children to succeed well as they move on to higher education. There is a growing interest among teachers in the other schools in learning how to teach T reading and writing.  Visas (SRA): Thank you for continuing to pray for the visa applications in progress for SRA staff members. Praise God, two more visas were granted! Three more applications are still pending.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

T 프로젝트: 300명 이상의 어린이들이 현재 T 지역 다중언어 학교에서 공부하고 있으며, 현지 언어 단체는 다른 지방정부와 사립 학교에서의 부족어 사용을 적극 권장하고 있습니다. 이 다중언어 학교는 T부족의 자녀들이 상급학교로 성공적으로 진학할 수 있는 탄탄한 기본학력을 제공해 주고있어 이 학교에서의 읽기와 쓰기를 가르치는 교수법에 대하여 다른 학교 교사들의 관심이 높아지고 있습니다. 비자 (실크로드 사역팀): 진행중인 비자 문제를 위해 계속 기도해 주심에 감사드립니다. 할렐루야! 두 사람의 체류 비자를 더 받았습니다! 아직 세 사람의 비자 승인을 기다리고 있습니다. 기도해주세요.

Working in healthy ways: Global

Leaders in the language technology development department are running a year-long project to look at how to carry out the SIL International care and well-being policies, standards and guidelines in the context of the department. Pray for wisdom as these leaders look at aligning policies, engaging in spiritual practices and facilitating Christ-centered discernment in their conversations and decision making.

언어 기술 개발팀의 책임자들은 어떻게 국제 SIL이 복지 정책과 멤버 케어의 표준에 맞추어 실행해 가고 있는지를 년중 프로젝트로 점검하고 있습니다. 이들이 정책들을 살펴보며 영적으로 적용할 방법들을 찾고 그리스도 중심의 분별력을 가지고 대화하며 결정을 할 때 책임자들에게 지혜 주시도록 기도해주세요.

Activities after translation: Asia

As some of the translation projects are nearing completion in one region of Asia, there is increased interest in starting Old Testament translation projects and Scripture engagement activities. There are currently 25 translation projects in process in the region. Pray for ways to meet these emerging desires and needs. Pray for the development of strategies that can be implemented in collaboration with partners and church leaders to meet the needs of the language communities.

The Ikarias (Names changed for security purposes) group is one of the largest and most sensitive groups with an ongoing translation work. Praise God that 80 percent of the New Testament and 10 percent of the Old Testament have been translated.

이카리아스 (보안지역 가명) 언어군은 보안지역에서 번역 진행 중인 가장 큰 언어 부족중 하나입니다. 신약 성경의 80%, 구약성경의 10%가 번역되었습니다. 하나님을 찬송합니다.
