Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea
The Parks along with Kaninuwa translators, Soktes and Simon, made a booklet of John 1-7 for village checking in June. These translators took these copies, along with 15 sets of the study book of the Gospel of Mark and a children’s book, to the Sibesibe village. Once in November last year, thankfully, Soktes confessed that he loved the words he was translating, the three epistles of John. Please pray that Kaninuwa people will make the same kind of confession, loving God and loving their neighbours as commanded, when they read and hear the translated words of John 1-7, and that the study book of Mark and the children’s storybook will be well used in their village. Pray also that the Kaninuwa translation team and the Parks can meet together in person in August as scheduled.

박선교사 부부는 지난 6월 카니누와 번역 팀원들인 속테스와 사이먼과 함께 요한복음 1-7장에 대한 마을 점검을 위해 해당 성경에 대한 소책자를 만들었고, 아울러 마가복음 성경 공부 교재와 어린이들을 위한 이야기책도 15부씩 만들어서, 시베시베 마을로 돌아가는 팀원들 편에 들려 보냈습니다. 감사하게도, 작년 11월 요한 일서, 이서, 삼서를 번역하던 중, 속테스가 이 말씀들이 너무 좋았다고 고백했었습니다. 마을 점검을 통해 카니누와 사람들이 번역된 말씀을 듣고 읽을 때에 하나님 아버지의 계명을 따라 하나님 사랑, 이웃 사랑을 동일하게 고백하게 되도록, 또한 함께 보낸 책자들이 잘 활용되도록 기도해 주세요. 오는 8월에 박선교사 부부와 카니누와 번역 팀원들이 알로타우 센터에서 함께 만나기로 했는데, 일정에 차질 없이 잘 만날 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Silas has rigorously dedicated his time and energy to keep pressing on with the Naskapi OT translation, even more since his retirement. But sadly, he was medevacked by air from Kawawachikamak to a hospital in the south early this morning due to a suspected mild stroke and fluid in his lungs. Please pray for a precise diagnosis and effective treatment.

Generosity crosses borders in Europe: Russia
Wycliffe Russia is very grateful for the generosity of both Russian and Finnish individuals and churches collaborating in a joint venture to fund oral Bible storying efforts in Mongolia. Wycliffe Russia reports: “We also have a family going there soon who will live and work amongst a language group living out in the wilderness who tend horses.” Please pray for a strong sense of partnering to develop as Christians in various countries come together to support oral Bible translation efforts, and to support individuals who are sent by their churches to serve in projects. Please pray that the communion of the saints would be an inspiration for all as they join together toward this shared goal.

Looking to God for provision: El Salvador
The Alliance organization in El Salvador, TRES, needs funding and economic provision for organizational development in all the areas of its work in the current year. Ask God to provide needed equipment for audio and video recording for use in the instruction of the Basic Course in Linguistics, Phonetics and Acquisition of a Second Language. This course helps prepare students for CILTA or other advanced linguistics study programs. TRES staff ask prayers for good health, good work progress, and adequate economic provision for all their members. Pray too for guidance, protection, and finances for the TRES cross-cultural workers who serve in Bible translation projects and other aspects of the mission of God in Peru.

With JAARS support, Faith Comes By Hearing is overseeing a number of Oral Bible Translation projects. Pray God will mightily use the Scriptures they record to bless many language groups.
