Gyoojun and Jinsook Lee:  director of Diaspora engagement team

The two-weekend Kairos Course in Vancouver that Gyoojun led went well. Gyoojun also attended the CanIL board meeting as one of the board members on Nov 16. A joint meeting with both Bethany Chapel and the Calgary Korean Presbyterian Church (Rev. Chang-Sun Choi, senior pastor) during the External Relations Team’s retreat in Calgary was helpful in relationship building between the two churches with a focus on Kingdom Friendship with Wycliffe Thailand. Praise the Lord for continuous growth in the Diaspora teams' ministries in recent years. We are thankful to God for the great growth of the Chinese Diaspora team’s ministries. Please pray for Gyoojun as he is going to share the possible partnership with the mission education program of the YoungNak Presbyterian Church of Toronto (Rev. Minho Song, senior pastor) on this Saturday, Nov. 24.  Last month, Gyoojun and Jinsook’s first grandson was born. Their grandson, who is named Oliver, is the child of their eldest son, Kwangpyo, and his wife, Sora. The Lee family gives thanks to God for your prayer support for their ministries and blessings to the family.

이 선교사가 지난 두 주간동안 주말코스로 밴쿠버에서 열렸던 카이로스 코스를 은혜가운데 잘 마쳤고, 11월 16일에는 캔아이엘 이사회도 참석하였습니다. 특별히 대외협력팀 수련회 기간 중 베다니채플 교회와 캘거리한인장로교회(최창선 담임목사) 선교 담당자와의 연석회의를 위클리프에서 주관하여 위클리프태국과 킹덤 프렌드십에 관한 상호 유익한 협력을 시작하게 된 것은 하나님의 은혜입니다. 또한 지난 2년 동안 한인 디아스포라 사역팀의 성장도 있었지만 중국인 디아스포라팀은 괄목한 만한 성장과 풍성한 열매를 거두고 있는 것에 감사드립니다. 11월 24일(토)에는 토론토영락교회(송민호 담임목사) 에서 선교 교육 프로그램에 관하여 교회 선교팀과 함께 기도하며 사역을 나눌 때 좋은 동역관계가 증진되도록 기도해주세요. 큰 아들 광표와 며느리 소라 부부사이에서 태어난 첫 손자, 충빈의 탄생을 통하여 온 가족에게는 무엇보다 놀라운 하나님의 선물을 받았습니다. 함께 사역과 가정을 위하여 손모아 주시고 축복해 주신 모든 분들에게 감사드립니다.

Wycliffe World Day of Prayer: Toronto

Wycliffe Bible Translators puts aside one day for prayer in November every year to commemorate the God-given breakthroughs of Bible translation ministries. The prayer meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 9:45 a.m. at Capstone Community Bible Church (1483 Royal York Road, Etobicoke, ON M9P 3B3). “The God of the Impossible” is the theme for this year. Please pray for this opportunity to glorify God by sharing what He has done and praying for the greater things yet to come. 

위클리프 세계 기도의 한나절: 토론토

위클리프는 매년 11월 하루를 기도의 한나절로 정하여 기도를 통해 성경번역 선교의 소중한 돌파구가 열리는 것을 기념하고 또 기원합니다. 광역 토론토 지역에서는 11월 21일(수요일)에 이토비코 소재 캡스톤교회에서 오전 9시 45분부터 모입니다. 금년도의 주제는 “불가능의 하나님”입니다. 하나님이 성경번역 선교를 통하여 행하신 놀라운 일들을 나누고 또 행하실 일들을 놓고 함께 기대함으로 손모아주세요.

Healing for earthquake survivors: Papua New Guinea

"Was God try­ing to kill me?" the pas­tor asked a room­ful of his fel­low earth­quake sur­vivors. His eyes were full of tears. "What did I do wrong?" he asked. These were some of the ques­tions asked in a ses­sion of trauma heal­ing for the sur­vivors of this year's Walagu earth­quake in Papua New Guinea. Praise God for the work­shop held for over 40 pas­tors and their wives. They learned about God's love and how He meets those who turn to him. At the end, one man de­clared that "God is our refuge." He no longer feared to re­turn to his vil­lage. Pray for these pas­tors and their wives as they use this ma­te­r­ial to share heal­ing with oth­ers who ex­pe­ri­enced the earth­quake.

지진 생존자들을 위한 치유: 파푸아뉴기니

“하나님이 나를 해하려 하신 건가요?” 지진 생존자들로 가득찬 방에서 한 목회자가 눈에 눈물이 가득 고인 채로 물었습니다. “제가 뭘 잘못한 건가요?” 이것은 금년 파푸아뉴기니 왈라구 지진 생존자들이 트라우마 치유 워크샵에서 던진 질문들입니다. 40 명 이상의 목회자들과 사모들이 모여 하나님의 사랑과 그리고 하나님이 어떻게 자기를 찾는 자들을 만나시는 지에 대해  배웠습니다. 워크샵 마지막 날에 한 사람이 ‘하나님은 우리의 피난처’라고 선포하며 자기 마을로 돌아가는 것이 더 이상 겁나지 않는다고 고백했습니다. 이 목회자들과 사모들이 지진을 경험한 이웃들에게 배운 내용을 잘 나누며 치유가 일어나도록 기도해주세요.

Scripture-based literacy program: Bangladesh

Give thanks that 20 mem­bers of one lan­guage com­mu­nity in Bangladesh have fin­ished Book 1 of the Scrip­ture primer se­ries and are start­ing Book 2. Pray for all the stu­dents in the lit­er­acy pro­gram as they in­ter­act with God’s Word in each les­son. Ask that the fol­low­ers of Jesus would grow in their faith, and that other stu­dents would come to God.  Pray for the pub­lish­ing and dis­tri­b­u­tion of new books pro­duced at a writ­ers' work­shop in late Oc­to­ber and early No­vem­ber. Pray for the lead­er­ship team as they plan for and sup­port the lit­er­acy program.

방글라데시의 한 언어부족에서 스무 명이 성경을 기초로 한 초급 독본 1권을 끝내고 2권을 시작하게 하신 주께 감사드립니다. 문해 프로그램의 수업 시간마다 하나님의 말씀을 교재로 나누게되는 학생들을 위해, 이들 중 신자는 믿음이 더욱 성장하고 불신자는 하나님을 만나게 되도록 손모아주세요. 10월말과 11월초에 진행되는 책 만들기 워크샵을 통해 만들어질 책들의 출판과 배포를 위해, 이 문해 프로그램을 계획하고 지원하는 리더십 팀을 위해서 기도해주세요.

The Ikposso New Testament project in southern Togo is near­ing completion. Pray the team and their families remain healthy allowing New Testament translation to be completed in 2019.
