Albert and M (Isaac, Moses): director of Wycliffe Taiwan and a regional manager of a sensitive area, respectively 

M is very thankful for successfully completing her field training in September for her regional manager's role in the sensitive area, She is also thankful to God for sending the workers who have taken over her previous roles with Wycliffe Taiwan—administration, IT and member care. She is visiting Korea to debrief the members who have returned from the sensitive area. These missionaries are in a very difficult situation in which they do not know what their next steps should be. Please pray that they will find God's comfort and strength, as they reflect on how God has already been working with them in the area. 

알버트 / M (이삭과 모세) 선교사: 위클리프 대만, 보안 지역 책임자

M 선교사는 지난 9월 보안 지역에서 모였던 신임 사역자들을 위한 현지 적응 훈련을 잘 마쳤고, 그 동안 위클리프 대만에서 감당하던 행정/IT/멤버 캐어 등의 사역을 위해 필요한 사역자들을 보내주셔서 인수 인계가 잘 이뤄졌음에 감사드립니다. 12월 4일부터 한 주 동안 보안지역에서 본국으로 돌아온 사역자들의 디브리핑을 위해 한국 방문 중입니다. 한치 앞도 내다볼 수 없는 상황변화에 힘들어 하고 있는 선교사들이 이 시간들을 통해 하나님의 행하심을 발견하고 새 힘과 사역의 돌파구를 얻는 계기가 되도록 기도해주세요.

Bible Sunday at the Calgary Korean Presbyterian Church (CKPC)

CKPC (Rev. Chang-Sun Choi, senior pastor) held their Bible Sunday on Dec. 2. CKPC invited Roy Eyre, President of Wycliffe Canada, to share the vision for the Bibleless people groups, and they prayed and gave a special offering for the

Wycliffe Thai Foundation with which they have partnered in a Kingdom Friendship. Please pray that God will continue to bless the partnership between CKPC and Wycliffe Canada which was established in 2009, and help CKPC successfully carry out their God-given world mission to this land and all nations.

성서 주일: 캘거리한인장로교회

Matthew and Caitlin Windsor (Hazel and Eli): Cree Initiative Bible Translation

We are happy to welcome Caitlin to the "Northern Translation Brief" as a guest blogger. Matthew and Caitlin are part of the “Next Generation” of Bible translation facilitation teams who are working with First Nations translation in the north. Here is a ministry update from the Windsors: “We would also like to ask you for your continued prayers for the translation checking that is going on right now in Kingfisher Lake, on the Oji-Cree Gospel of Mark. Translation consultant Meg Billingsley was delayed because of weather in getting to Kingfisher Lake, and she is scheduled to be wrapping up her checking time with them at the end of this week.” Please pray for the Windsor family each day: health and safety, effectiveness, sensitivity to God’s Spirit, and good relationships with the Kingfisher Lake community.

JESUS Film launching: Papua New Guinea

The Suena and Zia lan­guage com­mu­ni­ties in the Mo­robe Province of Papua New Guinea have the JE­SUS Film in their lan­guages. The film was cel­e­brated on 10 No­vem­ber in both lan­guage com­mu­ni­ties. Pray that many will turn to the Lord Jesus Christ as they view this film. The New Tes­ta­ments for these two lan­guages were ded­i­cated in 1978 for Suena and 1982 for Zia. The two New Tes­ta­ments need to be re­vised. Pray that there will be re­newed in­ter­est for Bible trans­la­tion for re­vi­sion work to be­gin. Pray that speak­ers of other nearby lan­guages still with­out the Scrip­tures will be en­cour­aged to start Bible trans­la­tion work in their lan­guages as they see the im­pact of the Word of God in the Suena and Zia communities.

파푸아뉴기니 모로베주 수에나와 지아 부족어로 예수 영화가 출시되어 지난 11월에 축하 행사가 있었습니다. 많은 이들이 이 영화를 보고 주께 돌아오도록 손모아주세요. 수에나 신약은 1978년에, 지아 신약은 1982년에 각각 봉헌되었지만 둘 다 개정이 필요합니다. 개정 작업에 대한 관심이 고조되도록, 아직 모어 성경이 없는 이웃 부족들도 수에나와 지아 부족을 통해 모어 성경의 영향력을 보고 성경 번역에 대해 열망을 갖게 되도록 기도해주세요.

Consultation on Bible translation training: Global

The sec­ond Com­mu­nity of Re­flec­tive Prac­ti­tion­ers con­sul­ta­tion on Bible trans­la­tion train­ing was held in Bangkok, Thai­land in early No­vem­ber. This was a fol­low-up from the first one in March. More than 30 peo­ple from var­i­ous Wycliffe Global Alliance or­ga­ni­za­tions at­tended the con­sul­ta­tion. Pray that the out­comes of this con­sul­ta­tion will give clar­ity and guid­ance to the train­ing of Bible trans­la­tors and trans­la­tion con­sul­tants in the Al­liance. These con­sul­ta­tions are or­ga­nized by the Wycliffe Asia-Pa­cific Area.

지난 11월 초에 태국 방콕에서 성경 번역 훈련에 대한 실무적 고찰및 자문회의가 열렸습니다. 위클리프 아시아-태평양 지역본부 주관으로 지난 3월에 이어 두 번째 후속 모임이었는데 다양한 위클리프 국제연대 단체들에서 30 여명이 참석했습니다. 이 회의의 열매로 위클리프 국제연대 소속 성경 번역가들과 자문위원들에 대한 훈련의 분명한 방향이 설정되도록 기도해주세요.
