Pray for Missionaries (2): Global

There are many ways to pray for missionaries and Bible translation. Perhaps God has placed a desire in your heart to pray for missionaries everywhere, or maybe for one particular missionary. Missionaries deal with many of the same stresses you face in life, like overwhelming workloads, sickness and financial uncertainties. Often, however, missionaries struggle with these issues alone. In some countries, missionaries may be exposed to the possibility of danger and personal harm. Opposition to the gospel may include hatred and violence. Please pray that God will keep missionaries safe. Pray also that God will change the hearts of those who are resistant to His Word.

And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. 2 Thessalonians 3:2 (NIV)

선교사들과 성경 번역을 위하여 여러 방법으로 기도할 수 있습니다. 아마도 하나님께서 만방에 흩어진 선교사들을 위하여, 아니면 어느 특정 선교사를 위하여 기도할 마음을 주실것입니다. 선교사들도 여러분의 삶가운데 만나는 동일한 스트레스, 과중한 일거리, 질병, 그리고 예상치 못하는 재정상의 어려움과 씨름해야합니다. 뿐만 아니라, 선교사들은 이러한 어려움들을 홀로 감당해야 할 때도 있습니다. 사역하는 지역에 따라 선교사들은 위험에 노출되어 있거나 신변의 위협을 당할 수도 있습니다. 증오나 폭력등으로 복음 전파를 방해하기도 합니다. 선교사들이 안전할 수 있도록, 하나님의 말씀에 저항하는 이들의 마음을 변화시켜 주시도록 간절히 기도해주세요.

The Bible So­ci­ety of Uzbek­istan cel­e­brated its 25th an­niver­sary in No­vem­ber at a pub­lic event. Praise God that copies from the lat­est print­ing of the Uzbek Bible ar­rived in time to be dis­played and can be pur­chased lo­cally. In the United States the Uzbek Bible can be or­dered di­rectly from the dis­trib­u­tor and through Ama­zon. It is avail­able dig­i­tally as an app through Google Play and the App Store, and in var­i­ous for­mats from the publisher. Pray that the Uzbek Bible will reach the peo­ple who are hun­gry for more of God. Pray for clear com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween var­i­ous or­ga­ni­za­tions as they plan for fu­ture dis­tri­b­u­tion of this Bible.

지난 11월 우즈베키스탄 성서공회가 공식적으로 창립 25 주년 기념행사를 가졌습니다. 최근 인쇄된 우즈벡 성경책이 제 시간에 도착하여 전시되고 판매된 것을 인해 하나님을 찬양합니다. 미국에서는 우즈벡 성경책을 배포자를 통하여 직접 주문할 수도 있고 아마존을 통해 온라인 구매도 가능합니다. 또한 전자 성경은 구글 플레이어나 앱 스토어를 통해 그리고 출판자를 통하여 다양한 포맷으로 접할 수 있습니다. 우즈벡 성경이 하나님을 향한 갈망을 가진 자들에게 잘 전달되도록, 우즈벡 성경의 향후 배포를 구상중인 여러 협력 단체들간의 분명한 의사소통이 잘 이루어지도록 아뢰어주세요.

SIL future planning: Russian Federation, Central Asia

The SIL Lead­er­ship Team re­spon­si­ble for trans­la­tion work in Rus­sia and Cen­tral Asia met re­cently. One of their main agenda items was to dis­cern how SIL fits into what God is do­ing in Rus­sia and the sur­round­ing coun­tries. One par­tic­i­pant shared, “In re­cent years it has been ex­cit­ing to see other or­ga­ni­za­tions get­ting more in­volved in Bible trans­la­tion, com­ple­ment­ing each other and work­ing well to­gether. Rus­sians them­selves are catch­ing the vi­sion. Def­i­nitely these are things to give thanks for.” Please pray for dis­cern­ment and direction for how SIL can best con­tribute. Pray for con­tin­ued unity among the part­ner organizations.

에스아이엘 향후 계획: 러시아 연방, 중앙 아시아

러시아와 중앙 아시아 지역 번역 사역을 책임지고 있는 에스아이엘(위클리프 자매단체) 의 리더십팀이 최근 모임을 가졌습니다. 모임의 핵심 주제는 러시아와 주변 국들에서 역사하시는 하나님의 뜻을 어떻게 잘 분별하여 함께 보조를 맞출 지 하는 것입니다. 한 참가자는 이렇게 전합니다. “최근 몇 년 간 더 많은 사역 단체들이 성경 번역에 관여하여 상호 보완하고 협력해 가는 모습을 흐뭇하게 지켜보고 있습니다. 러시아인들도 성경번역이라는 비전을 함께 공유해 가고 있는 일 모두가 거저 감사할 따름이지요.” 에스아이엘이 어떻게 기여하는 것이 바람직한지의 분별력과 올바른 방향성을 위해, 동역 단체들간의 하나됨을 위하여 기도해주세요.

Praise God. International Media Services at JAARS has a new, downloadable resource available on its website. Their Bible Backgrounds resource now has a “History of the Early Church” section which includes six video templates for translation.
