Exploring Missions at JAARS: Niagara Korean Presbyterian Church

This is a mission training program provided to a church in a customized way. Niagara Korean Presbyterian Church (Rev. Wook-Soo Suh, senior pastor) will have the training at the JAARS center between June 4 and June 9. They will participate in the JAARS Day* events as well. Please pray for the participants to experience God's Mission in special ways and apply what they will have learned to their daily life. Pray also that Daniel and Helen will be prepared and lead the team well. 

*JAARS Day is a center opening event in which a lot of Bible translation and technical support ministries are introduced. The visitors can appreciate those ministries through a lot of fun activities.  

잘스 선교 훈련 여행: 나이아가라한인장로교회

잘스 선교 훈련 프로그램은 참가하시는 분들(교회)과 현지의 상황등을 감안하여 맞춤식으로 제공됩니다. 6월 8일 잘스 데이* 행사에 맞추어 나이아가라한인장로교회(서욱수 담임목사) 팀이 6월 4일 출발하여 6월 9일 돌아오는 일정으로 참가합니다. 참가자 모두가 이번 여행을 통하여 주실 하나님의 은혜를 경험하고, 배우며 도전받은 것을 삶에 잘 적용할 수 있도록, 이번 행사를 인도할 윤기태 (양희숙) 선교사와 잘스 스탭들이 잘 준비하도록, 장거리 여행중 건강과 안전을 위하여 기도해주세요.

*잘스 데이는 많은 성경 번역 및 기술 지원 사역들을 소개하는 센터 오프닝 이벤트. 방문객들은 여러 재미있는 활동을 통해 협력선교의 모델들을 체험하며 감사 할 수 있습니다.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward this item or post it anywhere online)

T Project: N, the project liaison, reports that he was able to get a visa and to visit the T language area for the first time in twelve years! Unfortunately some of those local language team members are publicly opposing the project. Both parties have contributed to the problem, and neither seems willing to take the steps necessary to restore their broken relationships. May the Holy Spirit bring resolution and reconciliation to this community. Pray that the Lord will do a transforming work in the lives of those on both sides of the conflict, even though they are not believers. N writes: “This group is the greatest threat to ongoing translation work. If they were to find out about this work, the consequences would be great. So while they know nothing now, I feel certain the Enemy has stirred their hearts even more and increased tension. It’s not a coincidence that this small group has been causing more problems. We need to pray against the evil forces that are behind these actions that cause division and pain.” Please pray for the translation team, for continued progress, positive working relationships and protection over their work, their lives and the lives of their families.

T 프로젝트: 프로젝트 간사인 N 선교사가 비자를 받아 12 년 만에 이 지역을 방문 할 수 있었다고 알려왔습니다.

그러나 불행히도 일부 현지 언어팀원이 프로젝트에 공개적으로 반대하고 있는 어려움을 만났습니다. 양측이 모두 합의하지 않고 어느 쪽도 상처난 관계를 복원하는 노력이 보이지 않습니다. 성령께서 이 공동체에 해결 방안과 화해를 이루도록, 그들이 비록 신자가 아니더라도, 주께서 갈등의 양측에 있는 사람들의 삶에 변화를 가져 오도록 손모아주세요. N은 다음과 같이 말합니다: "이 팀원들은 진행중인 번역 사역에 가장 큰 위협입니다. 공동체가 이 일을 알게된다면 그 결과는 커질 것입니다. 그래서 공동체가 아직 상황을 알지 못하는 지금, 악한 영들이 더욱 기승을 부리고 긴장한 것을 느낍니다. 이들로 인하여 더 많은 문제를 야기한 것은 우연이 아니고 오히려 분열과 고통을 만든 배후에 있는 악한 세력들에 대항하여 기도하는 것이 더욱 절실합니다." 번역팀과 계속적인 진보, 긍정적인 관계 회복, 그리고 일꾼들의 사역과, 가족들과 모두의 삶에 대한 하나님의 보호하심을 위하여 간절히 기도해주세요.

Use of vernacular Scriptures: Solomon Islands

Pray for the follow-up plans to set goals to address the use of Scripture in the vernaculars in the Solomon Islands.

Pray that specific steps of action will be taken to encourage the church to engage with the vernacular

Scriptures that available to them. The Bible Translation and Literacy Partnership Solomon Islands decided in their Conference in March. To strengthen and increase Scripture Use in the local vernaculars, to do more awareness for literacy and promotion of language materials, to encourage the church to have greater involvement in Bible translation and literacy.

솔로몬제도 토착어 성경들의 활용을 위한 목표를 잘 정하여 진행할 수 있도록, 교회들이 이미 번역된 모어 성경들을 사용하기 위한 구체적인 행동 계획을 세우도록 아뢰어주세요. 솔로몬제도 성경 번역및 문해 동역회는 지난 3월 총회에서 다음과 같이 결의했습니다: 소수 부족 지역사회 내에서 성경 활용을 강화하고 증진시킨다. 문해 사역과 모어로 된 자료들을 홍보한다, 성경 번역과 문맹퇴치에 지역 교회들이 더 적극적으로 참여하도록 독려한다

Oral Bible storytelling: Papua New Guinea

Pray for the Oral Bible storytelling (OBS) training team from Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea. The team of four men and four women are preparing to go to the Western Province next month to conduct training in OBS for church leaders from six language communities. Pray that all the logistics and preparations for this first workshop will work out smoothly. Six training workshops are scheduled over a period of three years. This project is a collaborative partnership between the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association, the Seed Company, Pioneers and the Evangelical Church of Papua New Guinea to encourage the people to engage with the vernacular Scriptures using the OBS approach.

구전 성경 이야기: 파푸아뉴기니

파푸아뉴기니 밀른베이 지방에서 사역하는 구전 성경 이야기(OBS) 훈련팀을 위해 손모아주세요. 4명의 남성과 4 명의 여성으로 구성된 이 팀은 다음달 웨스턴 지방에 가서 6 개 언어권 출신 교회 지도자들에게 OBS훈련을 하기 위해 준비중입니다. 이 첫 웍샵 훈련을 위한 모든 세부 준비가 순적하게 이루어지도록 손모아 주세요. 향후 3년 간 6 개의 훈련이 계획되어 있는데 파푸아뉴기니 성경번역협회, 시드컴퍼니, 파이오니어스, 파푸아뉴기니 복음주의 교단간의 협력하여 진행합니다. 이 사역을 통해 토착어 성경을 잘 활용하도록 격려하는 모임들이 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Give thanks and pray for the six pilot/mechanics who graduate on June 28 from Pre-Field Orientation at JAARS Aviation, a 3.5 month course which is the final training stage for most pilots and mechanics heading to the field.

대부분의 항공기 조종사와 정비사들이 현장에 투입 되기전에 거치는 마지막 단계로 받는 3 개월 반 동안의 현지 적응 오리엔테이션 과정을 6월 28일로 수료하게되는 6명의 항공기 조종사겸 정비사들을 인하여 하나님께 감사드립니다.

Several team members of the JAARS Facilities and Mainte­nance department will retire in the next year or two. Ask the Lord to provide skilled personnel to replace them.
