Monthly virtual Prayer Meeting

Prayer Ministries of Wycliffe Canada is continuing with the monthly online prayer on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. MDT. The next meeting is scheduled for July 11, with prayer for Eurasia. This is an opportunity to listen to the story of a young adult who met Jesus while involved in other religions and came to serve as a national Bible translator. Bible translation is so much more than a task. It is also a ministry that results in transformation by God’s Spirit and through the prayers of the Church. Please pray for more people to join us in this extraordinary prayer meeting. 월례 온라인 기도회

위클리프캐나다 기도팀은 매월 둘째 주 토요일 오전 10시 (중부시간)에 온라인 기도 모임으로 모이는데 7월 11일에는 유라시아 지역을 위하여 기도할 예정입니다. 이번에는 타종교권에서 예수를 만나 이제는 성경번역 사역자로 헌신하고 있는 청년의 이야기를 들을 수 있는 기회입니다. 성경 번역 사역은 단순한 과업 수행이 아니라 하나님의 성령과 교회의 기도를 통해 변혁을 일으키는 사역입니다. 영어로 진행되지만 전반부는 진행자와 현지인 사역자와의 대담 형식이고 후반부에는 소그룹으로 나뉘어 함께 기도하는 시간을 갖습니다. 한인 참가자들이 3명 이상이면 한글 소그룹 방을 만들어 우리말로 기도할 수 있습니다. 많은 분들이 동참하도록 기도해 주시고, 참여를 원하시는 분은 윤기태 선교사에게 연락 주십시오. daniel.yoon@wycliffe.ca

Cree Initiative: Naskapi

As of three weeks ago, the project leadership recalled all of the local workers back to work. They were to be at the office half-days (half the staff in the morning, half the staff in the afternoon). They then went to full staff two weeks ago, all day. However, as a result of some personal issues, the two Naskapi translators are not on the job yet. Factors that impact this are that COVID-19 still restricts movement, there is some non-COVID sickness in the community, a recent death in the community, and the birth of a new grandchild for one of the translators. Please pray. Work is also being done on publishing all of the Naskapi Scriptures that are translated, which is about 60 percent of the Bible, so  Naskapi speakers can have access to this all in one place.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 나스카피 부족

프로젝트 책임자가 3주 전까지만 해도 교대로 반나절씩 근무하던 현지인 일꾼들을 모두 사역에 복귀 시켰습니다.

2 주전에는 모든 팀원들이 다 모였었는데, 두 명의 나스카피 번역가가 개인적인 문제로 합류하지 못하고 있습니다. 몇가지 요인이 있는데, 코로나 전염볌으로 인하여 이동이 제한되었고, 마을에는 코로나가 아닌 환자도 발생했고, 장례식도 있었고, 번역가중 한 사람의 손자가 출생하기도 했습니다. 나스카피 부족어 성경의 60% 정도가 이미 번역되어 완역된 부분은 출판 작업중인데 부족 사람들이 자기네 말로 번역된 말씀을 보다 잘 접할 수 있도록 손모아주세요.

Spiritual growth while waiting: Global
Pray for the men, women and organizations God is calling forth for the worldwide Bible translation movement during 2020. The Lord of the harvest (Matthew 9:38) is still calling individuals and organizations to serve with the Wycliffe Global Alliance. Yet in this uncertain time, many are waiting on God for his leading about how and when to proceed. Ask God to strengthen and fortify them in His Word and prayer as they wait upon Him. Pray that they will gain new strength (Isaiah 40:31). Ask God to transform them even more fully into the likeness of Jesus as He prepares them for service in Bible translation.

기다리는 동안의 영적인 성장: 전세계 

지금도 계속하여 전세계 성경번역 운동에 부름받은 남 여 종들과 여러 사역 단체들을 위해 기도해주세요. 추수의 주님은 (마태복음 9:38) 여전히 위클리프 국제 연대와 함께 동역할 개인과 단체들을 부르고 있습니다. 전혀 예측을 못한 이 불확실한 시국에 많은 사람들이 언제 어떻게 사역을 진척시켜 나아가야 할 지 하나님의 인도하심을 기다리고 있는데 이 어려운 때 말씀과 기도로 든든해 지고 새로운 힘을 얻게 되도록 손모아주세요 (이사야 40:31). 성경번멱을 섬기는 이들이 사역을 준비하는 이 기간에 온전히 예수님을 닮게되는 변화가 있도록 기도해주세요.

Cult worshipper turns to God: Papua New Guinea 
Julie, an Oral Bible Storytelling trainer from Maiwala village in Papua New Guinea was preparing a meal for her family. She was alone in her outdoor kitchen.  While she was cooking, she took the opportunity to practice telling the Bible story about the golden calf from Exodus 32. A young man passing by heard her and was so fascinated that he stopped and listened quietly. Then he came out from where he was standing and asked Julie to repeat the story. This young man was a cult worshipper and he was deeply touched by the story. He asked Julie to pray for him and she did. He trusted Christ and became a follower of Jesus. Praise the Lord for the power of the spoken Word of God. Translation of the Maiwala New Testament is in progress.

이단 숭배자가 하나님께로 돌아옴: 파푸아뉴기니

파푸아뉴기니 마이왈라 마을에서 구전 성경이야기 훈련강사인 줄리 선교사는 가족들을 위해 식사를 준비하고 있었습니다. 집 밖에 있는 부엌에서 혼자 요리를 하면서 출애굽기 32 장의 금송아지에 대한 이야기를 혼자 연습하는 중이었는데 지나가던 마을의 한 젊은이가 그 이야기를 듣고 매료되어 멈춰서서 조용히 귀를 기울였습니다. 그리고 그는 서있던 곳에서 나와 줄리 선교사에게 그 이야기를 되풀이 해달라고 요청했습니다. 이 젊은이는 이단 숭배자 였지만 그 성경 이야기에 깊은 감동을 받았습니다. 그는 줄리 선교사에게 기도해달라고 부탁했고 그는 마침내 그리스도를 영접했고 예수를 따르는 신자가 되었습니다. 구전으로 선포하신 말씀의 권능을 인하여 주님을 찬송합니다. 마이왈라 신약 성경이 현재 번역중입니다.

Praise the Lord for technology advances that have allowed us to maintain our fellowship though being physically apart.

물리적 거리 두기 (비대면-재택근무) 로 인하여 서로 떨어져 있음에도 불구하고 교제할 수 있게 해준 첨단 기술의 진보를 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다.

Praise God for the many JAARS staff members who completed the initial Enterprise Resource Planning software system testing, working remotely from their homes to keep the project moving forward.
