L & C: Bible translation in a country in Asia / Return assignment

L and C were scheduled to return to the field last spring, but are still waiting in Korea due to the pandemic. They have developed a creative way of doing ministries in this very limited situation but that will also be practiced only when they get into the field to get the national workers’ consent. Please pray for this to happen as soon as possible. In spite of this long time of waiting and uncertainties, they are very grateful for the opportunity to partner with a local church in Korea which has gladly invited them to come in and work with their mission work including training. L and C are now seeking God fervently in a retreat centre, asking God to endow them with an unceasingly thankful and resilient faith going through this pandemic situation. We will definitely appreciate your partnering in prayer for them!

Cree Initiative: Martin & Alice (Grace) Reed, Swampy Cree Project

Martin and Alice are doing well, just sheltering at home in Thompson, Manitoba. The First Nations the Reeds work with are taking this pandemic very seriously, as they have lots of historical experience with the devastation pandemics can cause to their under-resourced communities. The latest advisory from the Split Lake area where the Reeds are located says that the community entrance will be closed to everyone entering or leaving except for a medical purpose. Please pray that the Reeds remain healthy and safe while they are working creatively in this challenging season.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 마틴과 앨리스 (그레이스) 리드 선교사, 스왐피 크리 프로젝트

마틴과 앨리스 리드 선교사는 마니토바주 톰슨에 있는 원주민 마을에서 자가 격리하며 사역중입니다. 그러나 리드 선교사 가정이 섬기고 있는 원주민 지역은 이번의 대유행병을 매우 심각하게 받아들이고 있는데 끔찍한 대유행병들에 대한 과거의 힘들었던 많은 역사들을 기억하고 있고 의료 시설 부족등 방역에 매우 취약한 공동체이기 때문이기도 합니다. 리드 선교사 가정이 속한 스플릿 레이크 마을은 의료등 필수 목적이 아니면 아무도 마을에 출입할 수 없다는 봉쇄령이 발령되었습니다. 리드 선교사 가정이 이 특별한 때에 창의적으로 사역하면서 건강하고 안전하기를 기도해주세요.

Involving churches in transformation: Canada
The prayer ministry leaders of Wycliffe Canada believe that Bible translation results in lives transformed by God’s Spirit and through the prayers of God’s people. At a monthly online prayer meeting, they feature a particular language project, interview a staff person who serves in a field location, and present prayer needs. They have presented projects in Southeast Asia, Peru, Cameroon, Papua New Guinea, and Eurasia. Those who attend learn how to become intercessory partners for specific Wycliffe Canada projects. Give thanks to God that a growing number of members of the body of Christ across Canada are participating in these meetings. Pray that they will share the stories and needs with others and that many churches and individuals will join in prayer for these projects.

위클리프캐나다의 중보기도팀 리더들은 성경 번역이 하나님의 성령과 하나님의 백성의 기도를 통해 삶의 변화를 일으키는 사역이라고 믿습니다. 월례 온라인 기도회에서는 특정 언어 프로젝트를 택하여 현지 사역을 섬기는 사역자를 인터뷰하고 기도할 제목들을 내어 놓습니다. 그 동안 동남아시아, 페루, 파푸아뉴기니, 그리고 유라시아 지역의 프로젝트들을 위하여 모였습니다. 참여하는 사람들은 위클리프캐나다 중점 프로젝트들의 중보 기도 파트너가 되는 방법을 배웁니다. 캐나다 전역에서 점점 더 많은 그리스도의 지체들이 이 특별한 모임에 동참하고 있음을 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다. 기도회에 참여한 분들이 현지 소식과 필요한 기도 제목들을 다른 이들과 나누므로 더 많은 교회와 성도들이 중점 프로젝트들을 위한 온라인 기도회에 동참하게 되도록 손모아주세요.
 

“GILLBT Spree”: Ghana
Praise God for the success of the first “GILLBT Spree” in March 2020 at the GILLBT Accra business office. Twenty-five ordained ministers participated in this event designed to give GILLBT the opportunity to celebrate and connect with church partners. The aim of "GILLBT Spree” was to reactivate relationships with local partners including churches, individuals and organizations. Staff interacted over lunch with partners and expressed appreciation to churches for their continued support. The staff also explained in detail the vision and activities of the organization. Ask God to continue to cause these relationships to grow.

가나성경번역및언어문화연구소 (GILLBT) 교회협력 행사: 가나

지난 3월 GILBT의 아크라 사무소에서 열린 첫  행사가 성공적으로 마친 것 하나님께 감사드립니다. 25명의 안수받은 목회자들이 GILLBT 가 교회 파트너들과 교류할 수 있는 기회를 주기 위해 마련한 이번 행사에 참여했습니다. 행사의 목적은 교회, 개인과 단체등 현지 파트너들과의 관계를 재활성화하는 것이었습니다. 연구소 사역자들은 점심 식사를 하면서 파트너들과 교류하고 교회들의 지속적인 후원에 감사를 표했고 비전과 활동에 대해서도 상세히 설명했습니다. 이러한 좋은 관계가 계속 발전되도록 기도해주세요.

Praise God! The Nali people on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea, have 50 percent of their New Testament, and the rest of the New Testament and portions of the Old Testament are already drafted. Pray for safety for the JAARS-trained pilots who ferry the translators back and forth.
