Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea

In answer to your prayers, Joseph and Joyce recently made a phone call to the village and they were able to meet with Levi, one of the Kaninuwa translators, in Alotau last week. The Parks are thankful to God for the first draft of 1 John, the revised portions of the Gospel of Luke and the Old Testament, which they received from Levi. They are also grateful to hear that the translation team members gather every Wednesday afternoon to pray and this has brought God's peace in the village. Finally, Joseph and Joyce will be able to visit the village in November. Please pray for the arrangement of transportation and good preparation for the visit.

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 카니누와 부족 성경번역, 파푸아뉴기니

여러분의 기도 응답으로 최근에 마을과의 전화 교신이 되었고, 지난 주간에는 번역가 레비가 박 선교사 부부가 있는 알로타우로 나와 반가운 만남을 가졌습니다. 레비를 통하여 그동안 번역한 요한 1서 초역과, 누가복음및 구약 수정 자료들도 전해 받았고, 그 간의 마을 소식도 들을 수 있어 하나님께 감사드립니다. 또한 번역팀원들이 매주 수요일 오후에 모여 정기적으로 기도하는 모임이 생겼고, 그 결과 마을에 하나님이 주신 평화가 있다는 것도 참 감사한 일입니다. 마침내 박 선교사 부부가 11월 중에 마을을 방문할 수 있게 되었습니다. 이를 위한 교통편 마련과 방문 준비가 잘 이뤄질 수 있도록 기도해주세요.

Wycliffe World Day of Prayer

Wycliffe observes the World Day of Prayer every year, traditionally held on November 11. This year Wycliffe Canada is collaborating with OneBook and CanIL. We will be having three different times —Wednesday, Nov 11 at 5 p.m. (ET), Thursday, Nov 12 at 6 p.m. (ET), and Friday, Nov 13 at 7 p.m. (ET). These will be one-hour virtual events with different focuses and prayer requests for each. We will also encourage participants to fast during this time. Shalom (Isaiah 9:6-7) is our theme this year. This Day of Prayer is open to everyone. Please pray that many people will come to these meetings to pray together.

위클리프 세계 기도의 날

위클리프는 매년 11월 11일을 전세계적으로 성경없는 부족들을 위한 기도의 날로 정하여 기도하고 있습니다. 위클리프 캐나다는 자매단체인 원북, 캔아이엘과 함께 각각 다른 초점과 기도 제목을 가지고 3일 동안 각 1 시간씩 온라인으로 모일 예정입니다 (11월 11일(수) 동부 시간 오후 5시, 11월 12일(목) 동부 시간 오후 6시, 11월 13일 (금) 동부 시간 오후 7시). 아울러 이 기간 동안 참가자들에게 금식에 동참해 주시기를 권유하고 있습니다. 샬롬 (이사야 9:6-7)이 올해 행사의 주제이며, 누구나 참여할 수 있습니다. 참여를 원하시는 분은 윤기태 선교사 (daniel.yoon@wycliffe.ca, 905-348-2275) 에게로 미리 알려주시고, 많은 분들이 동참하도록 기도해주세요.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역

언어문화연구소: 1년 과정의 마지막 코스가 10월 말에 시작되며, 문해 프로그램의 기획, 필요한 자료의 디자인과 제작, 토속어 미디어 자료들의 작업등 문해 과정에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 인근 언어 공동체의 문해율이 매우 낮은데, 이런 상황을 염두에 두고, 언어 개발과 탄탄한 전문성을 가진 훈련생들이 이런 점에 대한 비전을 가지고 자기네 부족 공동체로 돌아갈 수 있기를 기도해주세요. 한 해 동안의 훈련 과정이 마무리되는 이 즈음에 강사들과 훈련생들 모두가 지쳐있는데, 각자에게 인내와 단련의 마음으로 잘 마무리할 수 있도록 손모아주세요. 연구소가 위치한 농촌 지역에는 늦여름까지 이어진 극심한 장마비로 인한 피해가 아직도 복구중입니다. 작물의 손실과 피해를 입은 사람들에게 하나님의 자비가 있도록, 복구에 필요한 모든 것들이 잘 공급될 수 있도록 기도해주세요.

Ten days of concentrated prayer: Global   
We praise God for Latin Americans from Wycliffe Global Alliance organizations, who participated in the 10 Days 2020 global prayer initiative from September 19 to 28. They joined people from various language backgrounds on Zoom to participate in 240 uninterrupted hours of personal repentance, intercession for unreached peoples, and longing for the return of Jesus. There were also prayers for translation of the Bible and indigenous issues. Four thousand people registered in the prayer room. Nearly 100,000 attended a related face-to-face event, The Return (USA), and more than 10 million people participated through television and social media. Thank God for this global outcry, for the positive testimonies and reports already received, and that this initiative has contributed to stimulating prayer movements in the countries of Latin America.

10 일간의 집중 기도: 전세계   

지난 9월, “10일간의 2020 글로벌 기도 운동”에 참여한 위클리프 국제연대 소속의 중남미 기도 동역자들을 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다. 이들은 줌을 통하여 다양한 언어 배경을 가진 참가자들과 함께 240시간의 중단 없는 회개, 미전도 종족을 위한 중보, 예수님 재림의 갈망으로 참여했고, 성경 번역과 원주민들을 위한 기도로도 이어졌습니다. 4천명이 기도방에 등록했고, 이와 연관된 대면 행사인 “더 리턴(미국)” 행사에는 10만명 가까운 사람들이 참가했고, 텔레비전과 쇼셜미디어를 통하여는 천만명 이상의 사람들이 참여했습니다. 이미 확인된 긍정적인 간증, 보고들과 함께 중남미 국가들의 기도 운동을 촉구하는데 기여를 한 이번 글로벌 행사로 인하여 하나님께 감사드립니다.

Stepping out in faith: Russia
A Russian church has been called by God to be involved in the Tyvan Language group located in Russia and Mongolia through prayer and funding. They want to fully fund the remaining financial needs of this project, which is 10 times the church’s yearly budget! The Bible translation is estimated to be completed within two to three years. Wycliffe Russia is greatly encouraged by the desire of this church to step out in faith and look to God for the impossible. Ask God for His rich blessing and provision for all the funds and other resources needed.

믿음으로 나아감: 러시아

어느 러시아 교회는 기도와 재정 후원으로 러시아와 몽고에 걸쳐 위치한 투바 부족어권 사역에 동참하도록 하나님께로 부터 소명을 받았습니다. 자그마치 자기네 교회 연간 예산의 10배에 달하는 이 프로젝트의 남은 재정적인 필요를 모두 후원하고 싶어합니다! 성경 번역 프로젝트는 대략 2-3년 안에 마칠 것으로 추정되는데 위클리프 러시아는 불가능을 하나님을 바라보고 믿음으로 나아가는 이 교회의 열망에 크게 고무되어 있습니다. 모든 재정과 다른 자원들의 필요가 하나님의 풍성한 복과 준비하심으로 채워지도록 기도해주세요.

With JAARS support, a technology partner in South Asia provided IT support for a virtual workshop to train local translators in the use of the Taste&See app. Pray for participants as they use their new skills to encourage Scripture use in their communities.
