Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (2)

Thanks to God's grace, Joseph and Joyce will visit the village in November in the midst of the pandemic. Please pray for the smooth operation of the JAARS flight and connecting ground transportation to the village on Good Enough Island. Pray for the Parks' fruit-bearing ministries with the Kaninuwa translation team, Sunday schools and elementary school teachers while they are in the village. Pray for the translation committee executives (Dominic, John, Kailo, and Ismael) who are preparing for a commemorative event in the village in November: reading the Bible, writing the Bible, Bible reciting and a writing competition. Pray also for the Parks’ health and safety on the move, even with their heavy ministry schedules.

하나님의 은혜로 코로나 대유행병중에도, 박 선교사 부부가 11월중에 마을을 방문할 수 있게 되었는데, 마을 방문을 위해 잘스 경비행기가 순조롭게 운항되고, 굿이넙 섬에서 마을까지도 육상 교통이 잘 연결되도록 기도해주세요. 아울러 마을 체류 동안 번역팀, 주일학교와 초등학교 교사들과의 사역을 통해 좋은 열매가 있도록, 또한 11월중 마을 기념 행사중에 있을 성경 읽기, 성경 쓰기, 성경 암송및 글짓기 대회 등을 준비하는 카니누와 번역 위원회 임원들 (도미닉, 존, 케일로, 이스마엘)을 위하여, 박 선교사 부부의 이동 중 안전과 바쁜 사역 중에도 영육간에 강건하도록 손모아주세요.

Wycliffe World Day of Prayer

Wycliffe observes the World Day of Prayer every year, traditionally held on November 11. This year Wycliffe Canada is collaborating with OneBook and CanIL. We will be having three different times —Wednesday, Nov 11 at 5 p.m. (ET), Thursday, Nov 12 at 6 p.m. (ET), and Friday, Nov 13 at 7 p.m. (ET). These will be one-hour virtual events with different focuses and prayer requests for each. We will also encourage participants to fast during this time. Shalom (Isaiah 9:6-7) is our theme this year. This Day of Prayer is open to everyone. Please pray that many people will come to these meetings to pray together.

위클리프 세계 기도의 날

위클리프는 매년 11월 11일을 전세계적으로 성경없는 부족들을 위한 기도의 날로 정하여 기도하고 있습니다. 위클리프 캐나다는 자매단체인 원북, 캔아이엘과 함께 각각 다른 초점과 기도 제목을 가지고 3일 동안 각 1 시간씩 온라인으로 모일 예정입니다. 11/11 (수) 동부 시간 오후 5시, 11/12 (목) 동부 시간 오후 6시, 11/13일 동부 시간 오후 7시 입니다. 아울러 이 기간 동안 참가자들에게 금식에 동참해 주시기를 권유하고 있습니다. 샬롬 (이사야 9:6-7)이 올해 행사의 주제이며, 누구나 참여할 수 있습니다. 참여를 원하시는 분은 윤기태 선교사 (daniel.yoon@wycliffe.ca, 905-348-2275) 에게로 미리 알려주시고, 많은 분들이 동참하도록 기도해주세요.

Cree Initiative: Naskapi Lectionary

Even though they are still challenged by limited local Naskapi translation help in the community, the teams continue to work on the projects that they can do with what they have. Bill Janccewicz, the head facilitator, completed the revision of the Naskapi Lectionary (Year B) which will begin with the First Sunday of Advent, on November 29, 2020. The printer sent a notice that the books were printed, shipped early in November, and they are now on their way to Kawawachikamach. Please pray for no disruptions as FedEx, and Canada Post do their job and get these books “to the church on time.” Thank the Lord for the completion of this project, which makes the Scriptures in Naskapi available to the congregation in Kawawachikamach every Sunday.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 나스카피 주일 예독서

여전히 대유행병으로 인한 이동 제한 가운데서도 현지 나스카피 번역팀들은 그들이 가지고 있는 최대한의 자원과 환경가운데서 할 수 있는 프로젝트들을 계속 섬기고 있습니다. 빌 선교사는 오는 11월 29일 첫번째 대강림 주일부터 사용될 나스카피 주일 예독서 (B년) 개정판을 완역했습니다. 책들은 이미 인쇄 과정을 마쳐 11월초순 선적이 되었고, 현재 카와와치까맠 원주민 공동체로 배송중입니다. 택배 회사인 페덱스와 캐나다우편공사가 이 책들을 차질없이 그리고 “정시에 교회로” 배송할 수 있도록 손모아주세요. 매 주일 까와와치까맠 교회의 성도들이 자기네 모어로 번역된 나스카피 성경을 사용할 수 있도록 하는 이 성경번역 프로젝트를 위해서 기도해주세요.

Supporting the partners: United Kingdom and Ireland 
Wycliffe UK and Ireland is training their partner care team to offer to pray for each partner they talk to on the phone. What a wonderful way to support those who partner financially with their Alliance organization, especially during this pandemic. Praise God for this expression of appreciation and gratitude from Wycliffe UK and Ireland. Ask God that these phone calls and prayer times will greatly encourage their partners. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

A united effort yields success: Caribbean   
Wycliffe Caribbean had originally scheduled the Western Caribbean Old Testament Bible Translators Workshop for early in 2020, but it was postponed because of COVID-19. Finally, from 28 September to 5 October the workshop was held in Spanish Town, Jamaica. The Jamaican Creole translators and their coordinator, along with the reviewers and technical team, observed all required physical distancing protocols. The group of Jamaican Creole translators from Belize and San Andres, Colombia joined the workshop virtually. One consultant from Curacao and another from the USA trained the group online. Praise God for graciously providing donors who shared generously to assist with the expenses related to the workshop. Thank God for the new skills and knowledge gained to continue translating the Western Caribbean Old Testament.

단합된 노력이 가져온 성공: 카리브제도

위클리프 캐리브제도는 금년초에 서부 카리브제도 구약 성경 번역가들을 위한 워크샵을 계획했지만 코로나로 연기되었다가 9 월 28 일부터 10 월 5 일까지 자메이카의 스페니쉬 타운에서 열렸습니다. 자메이카인 크리올 번역가들과 번역 코디네이터, 검토위원들, 기술팀 모두 필요한 물리적 거리 두기 지침들을 잘 준수하였습니다. 콜롬비아의 벨리즈와 산안드레스 출신의 자메이카인 크리올 번역가 팀이 온라인으로 워크샵에 참가했습니다. 쿠라카오의 한 자문위원과 미국의 자문위원이 이번 참가팀을 온라인으로 훈련시켰습니다. 이번 워크샵과 관련된 비용들을 아낌없이 후원해준 기부자들을 보내주신 은혜로운 하나님께 감사드립니다. 서부 카리브제도 구약 성경 번역이 계속될 수 있도록 새로운 기술과 지식들을 습득토록 허락하신 하나님께 감사드립니다.

JAARS, now officially registered in Papua New Guinea, can engage with national ministries there. Pray for guidance in discussions with these groups and for opportunities to build their technical and logistical capacity.
