A 2020 advent devotional booklet

Our God is a God of hope. When we look around at all that’s happening in the world, we may not immediately be hopeful. But the Word of God reminds us that, even if the world is flooded, or if the chosen people become slaves or exiled, and if there is no room in the inn, God’s plan is the redemption of all nations.  In the time of Advent, Wycliffe offers you a 2020 advent devotional booklet, “The Weary World Rejoices”, every week by separate email on each Sunday. 2020 대강절 묵상집

우리 하나님은 소망의 하나님입니다. 세상가운데서 일어나는 모든 일들을 둘러볼 때, 우리는 당장 소망을 갖지 못할 수도 있습니다. 그러나 하나님의 말씀은 물이 범람하거나 선택된 백성이 노예나 포로가 되고 여관에 있을 곳이 없다고 할지라도 여전히 인간 구원을 위한 하나님의 계획인 것을 깨닫게 해 줍니다. 이번 주일부터 시작되는 대강절에 맞추어 “힘들고 지친 세상이여 주님 오심을 기뻐하라”는 주제로 위클리프성경번역선교회가 만든 “2020년 대강절 묵상집”을 별도 이멜로 매 주일마다 보내드립니다. 이 특별한 때에, 하나님의 은혜로 특별한 대강절을 묵상하시는 여러분되시기를 기도합니다.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

“T” project:  In May, prayer was requested for a baby in the local translation project co-ordinator’s family who was in fragile health. We received the sad news that the son of “A”, 20-months old, died. Please Pray for “A” and his family during this very difficult time. May their hearts be turned toward the God who loves them. The project facilitators continue to search for funding to make up the gap left by a donor organization that withdrew from this project. Without more funds, the team will not be able to translate the remaining four books in the Lives of the Prophets series—the stories of Abraham, Joseph, Moses and Jesus—during the remaining two years of the project. There are still no known believers in Jesus among the 100,000 speakers of “T” people. Pray for ongoing conversations with other potential donors who might be able to fill the funding gap. 

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

"T" 프로젝트: 지난 5월에 현지 번역 코디네이터 가정의 아픈 아이에 대한 기도를 부탁한 바 있었는데 두 살이 채 안된 “A”의 아들이 결국 사망했다는 안타까운 소식이 전해졌습니다. 어려움을 당한 가족을 위해, 그리고 그들을 사랑하는 하나님께로 돌아올 수 있도록 손모아주세요. 프로젝트의 조력자들은 더 이상 후원을 하지 않게된 후원 단체가 남긴 재정 공백을 채우기 위해 지속적으로 후원단체를 찾고 있는데 재원이 마련되지 않으면 프로젝트의 남은 2년 동안 선지자들의 삶 시리즈인 아브라함, 요셉, 모세와 예수 이야기 (사복음서의 편집본)의 남은 부분을 번역할 수 없게 됩니다. 'T' 부족어를 사용하는 10만명 가운데 알려진 신자는 아직 없습니다. 자금 부족을 채워 줄 다른 유력한 후원자들과 지속적인 대화가 잘 이루어지기를 기도해주세요.

Online community: Singapore
For many, limitations became opportunities during the pandemic, as people developed new ways of working. When COVID-19 surged in Singapore, the Wycliffe Singapore office was closed and live events and meetings were cancelled. Praise God, however, for the Zoom talks that the Wycliffe Singapore team hosted, on topics such as promotion of Bible translation, trauma healing, prayer, and Bible storying. The online talks had good attendance – friends invited friends, including people from other countries. That resulted in strengthening relationships with partners, meeting new ones, and even engaging some new trainers for an upcoming Bible storying training. Because of participant response, the team is also planning a short course on Bible-based trauma healing. Pray that the Lord will lead the team forward as they continue to explore online opportunities and learn how to work and thrive in this new landscape. Ask the Lord to prepare the instructors and all the participants for the rigor of the upcoming Zoom workshops.

온라인 커뮤니티: 싱가포르

새로운 사역 방식을 개발함에 따라, 많은 이들에게는 대유행병으로 인한 규제들은 오히려 기회가 될 수 있었습니다. 싱가포르에서 코로나가 급증하자 위클리프 사무소는 문을 닫고 대면 행사들과 회의들이 취소되었습니다. 그러나 이로인해 위클리프 싱가포르팀이 성경 번역 홍보, 정신적 외상 치유, 기도 및 이야기 성경과 같은 주제들을 다룬 줌 강연을 할 수 있도록 인도하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 온라인 프로그램들은 참여율이 좋았고 친구들과 외국에 있는 사람들을 초대하기도 했습니다. 그 결과 동역자들과의 관계가 강화되고, 새로운 사람들을 만나고, 심지어 다가오는 이야기 성경 프로그램의 훈련을 위해 새 강사들을 참여시키는 결과도 낳았습니다. 참가자들의 반응 때문에 이 팀은 성경적 외상 치유를 위한 단기 코스도 계획하고 있습니다. 팀이 온라인 사역 기회를 계속 찾으며 새 환경에서 성공적으로 일할 수 있는 방법을 배우며 진보해 나아갈 수 있도록, 곧 있을 줌 워크샵의 엄격한 훈련들을 대비해 강사들과 모든 참가자들을 잘 준비시켜 주시도록 기도해주세요. 

Mango New Testament launch: Chad
The celebration and launch of the Mango New Testament will take place on 28 November in Goré Nord Doba, Chad. Rejoice with the Mango community and all involved in the translation. Pray for safety in travel as well as protection over the whole event and each person attending. Pray that this community experiences great joy as they receive God’s Word in their language. Ask God to transform lives as it is read and understood.

망고 부족어로 번역된 신약 성경의 봉헌및 출시가 11월 28일 차드의 고레 노드 도바에서 열립니다. 부족 공동체와 번역에 참여한 모든 일꾼들과 함께 기뻐해 주세요. 이 행사를 위해 여행하는 모든 이의 안전과 행사 전체와 참석자 모두를 지켜주시도록, 이 공동체가 자기네 말로 된 하나님의 말씀을 받을 때 큰 기쁨을 경험하게 되도록, 또한 성경을 읽고 이해하므로 하나님께서 그들의 삶을 변화시켜 주시도록 기도해주세요.

Praise God! Since COVID-19 canceled the Passport to Christmas event at JAARS this year, the Passport team created a special video, "The Best Gift,” for churches and families—a reminder that God’s gift of his Son is our greatest blessing at Christmas.

할렐루야! 올해 코로나로 인해 “크리스마스 패스포트” 행사가 취소되었지만, 사역팀은 교회들과 가정들을 위해 "최고의 선물"이라는 특별한 동영상을 제작했습니다. 그의 아들을 주신 하나님의 선물이야말로 가장 큰 성탄절의 축복임을 상기시켜 줍니다.

Praise God! Three candidates recently completed their Technical Evaluation by the JAARS Aviation Training staff and received field assignment recommendations.

최근 세 사람의 후보 선교사가 잘스의 항공 훈련 교관으로 부터 기술 평가 과정을 수료하였고 현지 사역을 권고받았습니다. 하나님을 찬송합니다!
