L & C: Bible translation in a country in Asia / Return assignment
L and C are still waiting in Korea due to the pandemic, praying to go back to their field assignment soon. Praise the Lord for a good discussion on the collaboration with a neighbouring project team in the area, as both teams can help each other. Please pray that the specific discussion will go well with His guidance. C's Korean Language Teacher Certification course for foreigners is now one semester left to go. Pray that C will be able to use it as a good ministry platform in the field when they are allowed to go back. Pray also for the easing of restrictions for international travel, and that vaccination rates accelerate. And pray that their remote ministry continues to advance.

L 선교사가 이웃 지역에서 사역하는 프로젝트팀과 서로 도움이 필요한 부분을 협업하는 논의가 진척이 되어 감사 드립니다. 구체적인 논의가 주의 인도하심으로 잘 진행되도록 기도해 주세요. C 선교사의 외국인을 위한 한국어 교사 자격증 코스가 이제 한 학기 남았습니다. 현지에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있는 전략적인 사역 도구가 되도록, 대유행병이 백신 접종 가속화와 함께 속히 국제간의 이동이 용이하도록, 현재의 원격 사역도 계속 진전이 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
“T” project: Pray for the “T” team as they work together to finalize a new proposal for a couple of potential funders who expressed interest in filling the funding gap that will start in December. Praise God for all that has been translated these past three years and for how these translated words, stories and ideas are impacting those who have read them. Pray for the team’s continued efforts with government officials to give “T” and several other languages in the region official status that will then allow them to be used as a medium of instruction in classrooms. Pray for continued good relationships and opportunities to talk with those involved in making or influencing education policy decisions. Praise God for the events held at the local school to promote the three historical biographies that were previously published. Hundreds were distributed to students, and some portions were read aloud.

T 프로젝트: 재정 부족분올 12월부터 지원해 주기로 관심을 표명해 준 몇 기부자들의 새로운 후원 제안서가 잘 마무리 되도록 프로젝트 팀을 위해 기도해 주세요. 지난 3년간 번역된 말씀들과 단어들, 이야기들, 그리고 아이디어들이 그것을 읽은 T 사람들에게 어떤 감동과 변화를 주었는지를 생각하며 하나님을 찬송합니다. 정부 관계자들과 함께 T언어를 비롯한 다른 언어들을 지역 공용어로 공식 인증받고 그래서 학교에서 가르치는 언어로 활용할 수 있도록 팀이 지속적으로 추진하도록, 정부의 교육 정책 결정권이 있거나 영향을 미치는 관계자들과 대화할 수 있는 좋은 관계와 기회가 지속되도록, 감사한 일은 이전에 출판된 세 권의 역사 전기 교과서들을 홍보하기 위해 현지 학교에서 열린 행사에서 수 백권의 번역된 책이 학생들에게 배포되었고 교재의 일부분은 조회시간에 소리내어 읽히기도 했습니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!

Small points of light: Russia
Russia is a vast nation of 11 time zones, 35 official languages and over 100 minority languages. Wycliffe Russia
participates in a growing number of translation projects that dot this vast land like small but vibrant points of light. It is vital to Wycliffe Russia staff to share regularly with churches and Christians in other parts of Russia about the progress and challenges of translating God’s life-changing Word in these contexts. Please pray for this growing network of prayer throughout Russia. Pray for translation worker Timur and his family who are based many hundreds of miles from their home and sending church. Timur is part of a team working alongside two different language communities that have multiple dialects, which raises special challenges for translation. Pray also for Timur’s son who has a problem with his sight that needs specialist attention soon, which means traveling outside of the area where they serve.
빛의 작은 점들: 러시아
러시아는 11개의 시간대, 35개의 공용어, 100개 이상의 소수민족 언어들로 이루어진 아주 큰 나라입니다. 위클리프 러시아는 이 광대한 땅에 작지만 강렬한 빛의 점들을 찍듯이 점 점 더 많은 번역 프로젝트들에 참여하고 있습니다. 이러한 맥락에서 위클리프 러시아 사역자들이 삶을 변화시키는 하나님의 말씀을 번역하는 과정과 도전들을 교회와 성도들과 함께 정기적으로 공유하는 것은 상당히 중요합니다. 러시아 전역으로 점차 확장되는 기도의 네트워크를 위해, 집과 파송교회에서 수백 킬로 떨어진 임지에서 사역하는 티무르 선교사 가정을 위해 기도해 주세요. 티무르는 여러 방언들로 인해 번역상 특별한 어려움을 겪고 있는 두 개의 서로 다른 언어 공동체를 섬기는 팀의 일원입니다. 시력에 문제가 있어 안과 전문의 진단을 필요로 하는 티무르의 아들이 치료를 위해 지역 밖으로 여행을 해야하는데 위하여 기도해 주세요.
Old Testament and sign language translations: Caribbean
Wycliffe Caribbean launched the Old Testament translation project in the Western Caribbean (Jamaican) language in January 2020. Although funding was a challenge, 23 persons came together for a beginning translation workshop, resourced by God’s miraculous provision. Five of the participants volunteered to serve as translators, and a church provided a place to meet. The translators worked diligently and faithfully to finish the first draft of Jonah. It was checked for comprehension with members of the community by the University of the West Indies and is now ready for publication. Pray for provision of funds for printing Jonah. The team is now working on the book of Ruth and will translate Esther next. Pray for renewed negotiations for funding for this project. Wycliffe Caribbean is also being considered to lead the way in starting translation in sign languages in the Caribbean in 2021. Ask God for wisdom for this project.
구약과 수화 번역: 카리브제도
위클리프 카리브제도는 작년 1 월에 서부 카리브 (자메이카 크리올) 언어로 된 구약 번역 프로젝트를 착수했습니다. 모금이 어렵긴 했지만 23 명의 모여 하나님의 기적적인 공급하심으로 번역 워크숍을 시작했습니다. 참가자중 다섯 명이 번역가로 자원했고 한 교회는 훈련 장소를 제공했습니다. 번역가들은 요나서 초벌 번역을 마치기까지 열정과 신실함으로 섬겼고 서인도 대학의 도움으로 공동체 점검을 거쳐 이제 출판 준비가 되었습니다. 팀은 현재 룻기를 착수했고 다음으로 에스더서를 번역할 예정입니다. 요나서 출판을 위한 재정 마련을 위해, 프로젝트를 위한 예산 갱신이 잘 이루어 지도록, 금년에는 수화 번역을 착수하는 일에 앞장서고 있는데 이 새로운 프로젝트를 위하여 하나님이 팀에게 지혜주시도록 기도해 주세요.
