Albert and Martha (Isaac, Moses): Director of Wycliffe Taiwan and Regional Manager of a sensitive area, respectively
Since end of July, Taiwan has decided to ease its level of the mitigation phase to level 2, and open up some essential businesses, while continuing vaccinations. Albert is grateful for no serious side effects as a result of the vaccinations. Please pray that Martha will be able to be vaccinated as scheduled. The distribution orders for the Proclaimers, audio Bible players supported by Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH), have been received over the last few weeks, and will be delivered via post mail to those who requested them. Please pray that the devices are well delivered, and that God will transform their heart as they listen to His Word through the device. Pray also for Martha's gum pain issue, a precise diagnosis of the pain and effective treatment by the specialist, so that she will be able to continue her good ministries without being interrupted by this pain any longer.

Effectiveness through trauma healing: Germany
Wycliffe Germany invites churches in Germany to help traumatized people—both refugees and non-refugees—with the program and workbook Healing the Wounds of Trauma. (The German title is Walking Alongside Traumatized People). These resources are based on the Bible and proven mental health principles. Since 2017, Wycliffe Germany has offered training sessions several times a year to equip church leaders, mission workers, mental health workers, and refugee helpers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. They also train refugee helpers who work in hotspots like Lesvos and Athens. The training is done both in person and online. Thank God for these materials that have been translated into the heart languages of many refugees. Pray that through the service of these trained facilitators, many people will experience the life-changing message of the Bible and find healing for their heart wounds through Jesus. Pray for the necessary staff in Wycliffe Germany to continue this very much appreciated and effective outreach by churches.
외상 치유를 통한 효과: 독일
위클리프 독일이 외상 치유 프로그램과 워크북 (독일어 제목은, 외상을 입은 이들과 함께 걷기)을 통해 독일 교회들을 초대하여 난민이나 비난민중 정신적 외상을 입은 사람들을 돕습니다. 이 자료들은 성경과 검증된 정신 건강 원칙을 기반으로 하여 2017년부터 매년 여러차례 독일, 스위스, 오스트리아에서 교회 지도자, 선교사, 정신건강 전문인들과 난민 조력자들을 교육하며, 또한 레스보스와 아테네와 같은 핫스팟에서 일하는 난민 도우미들을 훈련시킵니다. 이 훈련과정은 대면과 온라인으로 진행되는데 많은 난민들이 자기네 모어로 번역된 자료들로 인해 하나님께 감사드립니다. 이렇게 훈련받은 조력자들의 섬김을 통해 많은 사람들이 삶을 변화시키는 성경 메시지를 경험하고 예수님을 통해 마음의 상처가 치유될 수 있도록, 위클리프 독일의 이 소중한 일꾼들이 교회에서 귀하게 여김을 받고 효과적인 선교를 계속할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.
Responses to newly translated Scripture: Southeast Asia
A translator in a Southeast Asian language was asked to share at a recent fellowship gathering. She read the first draft of James 1 that the team had just completed. Those attending responded with what had touched their hearts. One shared his excitement over verses 9 and 10: "Excellent! God sees us all as equal. He honours the poor and humbles the rich. As believers, rich or poor, we are all equal before God." This is music to the ears of the people in this humble language community, who have a long history of being marginalized. Another said, "That is just how we would say it. It's as if Grandfather James were our grandfather, speaking to us." The translator was encouraged by these glimpses of people having heart-to-heart connections with God through his Word in their own language, as they related the passages to their lives. Praise God for how he brings spiritual growth among his people through heart language Scriptures.
새로 번역된 성경에 대한 반응: 동남아시아
동남아시아의 한 번역가는 최근 어느 친교 모임에서 간증 요청을 받았습니다. 그녀는 자기네 번역팀이 막 완역한 야고보서 1 장의 초벌 번역을 읽었고 함께 참석한 이들은 마음에 깊은 감동으로 반응했습니다. 한 사람은 9절과 10절에 대한 자신의 흥분을 이렇게 나눕니다. “정말 훌륭합니다! 하나님은 우리 모두를 평등하게 여기시며 가난한 자들을 존중하고 부자들을 겸손하게 하십니다. 신자로서 부자나 가난한 자 모두 하나님 앞에 평등합니다." 이 말씀은 오랜 역사를 통해 소외되어 왔던 그 소박한 공동체 사람들의 귀에 음악입니다. 어떤 이는 “마치 야고보 할아버지가 우리 할아버지인 것처럼 우리에게 말씀하시네요" 라고 말합니다. 번역가는 자기네 말로 된 하나님의 말씀을 통해 하나님과 마음과 마음을 연결하는 사람들의 모습으로 인해 용기를 얻었습니다. 모어 성경으로 자기 백성들에게 영적 성장을 허락하시는 하나님을 찬양합니다!
