L & C: Bible translation in a sensitive area of Asia / remote assignment
L and C continue to work remotely with their team members in different countries. We are grateful that L is able to contribute in exegesis for the team’s translation work with the target language. We are thankful that C also continues to teach Korean to the sisters of C country, and is making good use of the opportunity to share the "good news" with her family while she learns the C language. Pray for wisdom, patience, and God's grace to stay focused as L navigates the target language remotely with a local language tutor. Please continue your prayer support as L and C, with the love of God and Father’s heart for souls, are doing the best they can in their assigned ministries.

C 선교사는 계속해서 C국 자매에게 한국어를 가르쳐 주고 반대로 C국 언어를 배우면서 그 가정과 교제하며 '좋은 소식'을 나눌 기회를 잘 활용하고 있음에 감사드립니다. 대상언어 습득 과정을 현지에 있는 언어 조력자와 원격으로 해야하는 어려움이 있지만, 지혜와 인내, 그리고 하나님의 은혜로 집중할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 계속해서 하나님을 향한 사랑과 영혼을 민망히 여기는 아버지의 마음으로, 맡은 사역들에 최선을 감당하는 L and C 선교사가 되도록 함께 손모아 주세요.
WBTC-GBT English tutoring program
The 4th term of the English tutoring program will be held March 1 to May 5. This is to improve the English proficiency of some members of Global Bible Translators (GBT, aka Wycliffe Korea), and we are very thankful for the tutoring ministry of alumni and volunteers from Wycliffe Canada. Students and tutors will have 10 sessions, through which they will have time for discussion and mutual learning around a variety of topics related to the life of mission and ministry. Please pray not only for the English training, but also for good fellowship, encouragement, and sharing among the students and tutors from both organizations. Pray that Paul Meisner, Eunyoung Park, Gyoojun Lee and Daniel Yoon, who serve as the coordinator team in both counties, will be well prepared and serve by God's grace and wisdom.
캐나다와 한국 영어 튜터링 프로그램
한국 성경번역선교회(GBT, 위클리프 한국) 선교사들의 영어 능력 향상을 위한 튜터링 프로그램이 4번째 학기를 맞게 되었습니다. 3 월 1일부터 5월 초까지 10 번의 세션으로 이뤄지며, 이를 위해 영어 교사로 섬기는 위클리프 캐나다의 은퇴 선교사 및 자원봉사자들께 감사드립니다. 학생과 교사가 함께 선교의 삶과 사역에 대한 다양한 주제들을 중심으로 토론과 상호 배움의 시간을 갖게됩니다. 영어 훈련뿐만 아니라, 두 단체의 선교사들과 봉사자들 사이에 좋은 교제와 격려, 나눔의 시간이 되도록 기도해 주세요. 양국에서 코디네이터로 섬기는 폴 마이즈너, 박은영, 이규준 및 윤기태 선교사가 하나님의 은혜와 지혜로 잘 준비하여 섬기도록 기도해 주세요.

위클리프성경번역선교회에서 제작한 “예수님의 마지막 말씀들” 이란 주제의 사순절 묵상집을 6주간에 걸처 구글 드라이브를 통하여 여러분들과 함께 공유합니다. 사망의 정복과 구원의 소망을 준비하는 이 부활절에 예수님께서 마지막으로 남기신 구절들을 묵상하며 그 각각의 말씀을 통해 전해주신 강력한 교훈들을 발견하고 함께 은혜를 나누시기 바랍니다.

Psalms translation course: The Netherlands, Chad
Wycliffe Netherlands partners with SIL Chad to offer workshops for Chadian partners and local language associations in various topics related to linguistics and translation. Praise God that in 2022, 172 Chadians representing 41 different language communities took part in these trainings! In mid-January 2023 a two-week training workshop was held to help translators understand Hebrew poetry, especially for translating the Psalms. They studied: 1) Songs in local Chadian languages to see what literary techniques they use to make the songs poetic, 2) Literary techniques used by the Hebrew poets in the Psalms such as parallelism, rhyme, alliteration and word pairs, 3) The different words used in the Psalms to refer to praise and worship, the characteristics of God, and God’s law so they could find equivalent words in their languages. Participants also translated six Psalms into their own languages and each composed a song based on the Psalms they translated. Praise God that workshops such as this can be held because of the partnership between Wycliffe Netherlands and SIL Chad. Pray that everyone who was involved will be inspired by the beauty of the poetry in the book of Psalms and be able to translate them into their languages in an equally beautiful way!

위클리프네덜란드는 에스아이엘 차드와 협력하여 차드 내 여러 동역단체들과 현지 언어 협회들에게 언어학과 번역에 관련된 다양한 주제로 워크숍을 제공합니다. 작년에 41개 언어 공동체를 대표하는 172명의 차드 사람들이 이 훈련에 동참한 것을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다! 금년 1월 중순에 번역가들이 히브리 시가서, 특히 시편을 이해하는 데 도움이 될 2주간의 훈련 워크숍이 열렸고, 함께 연구한 것들은, 1) 이 시가들을 더 시적으로 만들기 위해 사용된 문학적 기법들을 알기위해 현지 언어들로 된 노래들, 2) 히브리 시인들이 사용한 대구법, 운율, 두운 및 단어 쌍과 같은 시편의 문학적 기법, 3) 찬양과 경배, 하나님의 성품, 하나님의 율법을 표현하기 위해 시편에서 사용된 서로 다른 단어들과 동등한 단어들을 찾을 수 있었습니다. 또한 참가자들은 여섯 편의 시편을 자기네 모어로 번역하고 각자가 번역한 시편을 바탕으로 노래를 작곡했습니다. 위클리프 네덜란드와 에스아이엘 차드의 동역으로 이런 워크숍이 개최될 수 있다는 것을 하나님께 감사드립니다. 함께 참여한 모든 사람들이 시편의 시들의 아름다움에 영감을 받아 동일하게 아름답게 자기네 모어들을 번역할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.
JESUS Film trainings: Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore
Wycliffe Malaysia, in partnership with the JESUS Film project, trained translation facilitators from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore to translate the JESUS Film into their languages. After the training, four new JESUSFilm projects were launched in the Kenyah, Semelai, Jakun, and Tekun* languages. This group learning experience was a reminder of the unity and diversity of the body of believers as expressed in 1 Corinthians 12:13, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” The participants and trainers give glory to God for the opportunity to participate in this training together in order to begin work on translating the JESUS Film. Pray for more opportunities like this for collaboration in training among partner organisations. Ask the Lord to keep this same excitement and momentum going for many other translation projects in the region, to make God’s Word accessible in the heart languages of more people groups.

“예수” 영화 훈련: 말레이시아, 인도네시아, 싱가포르
위클리프 말레이시아는 “예수” 영화 프로젝트와 협력하여 자기네 말로 “예수” 영화를 번역하기 위해 말레이시아, 인도네시아, 싱가포르의 번역 조력자들을 훈련합니다. 훈련후 케냐, 세멜라이, 자쿤, 테쿤* 언어로 된 4개의 새로운 예수 영화 프로젝트가 시작되었는데 이 집단 학습 경험을 통해 고린도 전서 12장 13절의 말씀 “ 몸은 하나인데 많은 지체가 있고 몸의 지체가 많으나 한 몸임과 같이 그리스도도 그러하니라.”와 같이 성도의 하나됨과 동시에 다양성을 깨달을 수 있었습니다. 참가자들과 인도자들이 “예수” 영화 번역 작업을 시작하기 위해 이 훈련에 함께 참여할 수 있는 기회를 주신 하나님께 영광을 돌립니다. 동역 단체들 간의 협력 훈련의 기회가 더 많이 생길 수 있도록, 그리고 더 많은 사람들이 자기네 모어로 하나님의 말씀에 다가갈 수 있도록, 이 지역의 다른 많은 번역 프로젝트에도 이와 같은 열정과 추진력이 유지되기를 함께 기도해 주세요. *보안명
