여러분들의 기도와 동역으로 최근 북미한인장로교회 청소년 연합 수련회를 위한 라이프게임을 (가족이 함께) 잘 섬기고, 이에 대한 후속 조치를 잘 할 수 있게 하심에 감사드립니다. 계속해서 동역의 관계가 더 깊어지도록 기도해 주세요. 또한 위클리프 홍콩과 연계하여 중국인 동원사역을 위한 기본적인 커뮤니케이션을 재개할 수 있게 되었음도 감사드립니다! 하루 속히 중국인 디아스포라 사역을 위한 전임사역자와 자원봉사들이 구해져 팀이 재건될 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 이규준 선교사가 9/3(주일) 런던제일장로교회 EM에서 잘 설교할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee: Director of Diaspora Engagement, Canada

Thank you for your prayers and partnership for the LiFEgame Gyoojun and Jinsook served (as a whole family, as the photo shows) for youths of Korean American Presbyterian churches in the GTA. Please continue to pray for the partnership between KAPC and Wycliffe Canada to go deeper and broader. We are also thankful that we have resumed essential communication with Chinese churches in Canada with the help of a Wycliffe Hong Kong worker who will translate our monthly prayer letter into Cantonese. Please pray that full-time staff and volunteers for the Chinese diaspora engagement ministry will be found soon to rebuild the team. Please pray that Gyoojun will be able to preach well at London First Disciples, the English ministry of London First Korean Presbyterian Church, on Sunday, September 3.

음바 성경번역: 콩고 민주공화국

그 동안 불안정한 인터넷 연결로 작업에 많은 지장을 받고 있었는데, 음바 언어 성경번역을 위해 성경번역 사무실에 원활한 인터넷 통신을 위한 초소형 위성통신 지구국을 설치하게 됨에 감사드립니다. 이를 유지하기 위해 일정용량의 밧데리를 한 개 더 구입할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 또한 4-9월이 가장 바쁜 농번기임에도 음바 민족 사람들이 마가복음 전체 점검을 위해 2주 동안 밭일을 멈추고 점검 작업을 도와주기로 결정했음에 감사드립니다! 효과적일 뿐 아니라, 말씀이 이들 가운데 역사하는 모든 점검 과정이 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Mba Bible Translation: Democratic Republic of the Congo

We're thankful that we have been able to install VSAT (very small aperture terminal, a small satellite communication earth station) in the Bible translation office for the Mba language Bible translation project, as unreliable internet connections have hindered a lot the progress of the work. Pray for the purchase of another battery with a certain capacity to maintain the whole system on top of the already bought four batteries. We are also thankful that even though April-September is the busiest farming season, the Mba people decided to stop working in their fields for two weeks to help us with a full check of the Gospel of Mark! Pray that it will not only be effective but that the Word will work among them throughout the checking process, to change and transform Mba people's lives.

아맘 성경을 통한 강한 역사: 파푸아뉴기니

최근 아맘 성경 번역 팀은 자문 위원과 함께 마태복음 초안을 점검하고 있었습니다. 팀은 현지인 번역사역자 아위 망가가 번역된 성경을 큰 소리로 읽는 동안 집중해서 들었고, 베드로가 예수를 모른다고 부인한 내용이 나오는 마태복음 26장 75절을 읽었을 때 아위는 갑자기 멈추고 목을 가다듬는 듯 하더니 울기 시작했습니다. “이 말씀은 제게 직접 하시는 말씀입니다. 주 예수 그리스도를 믿는다고 하면서 문제가 생기면 도망쳐 주님을 부인합니다.” 라고 아위는 말합니다. 자문 위원 점검 중 하나님의 말씀이 아위에게 깊은 감동을 준 것은 이번만이 아닙니다. 다른 아맘 번역팀원들도 자신들의 모어로 번역된 말씀이 그들의 삶 속에서 얼마나 강력하게 말씀하고 있는지를 표현합니다. 3월에 마태복음, 디모데전후서, 야고보서 점검을 성공적으로 잘 마치게 하시고 아맘 성경을 통해 이미 삶에 영향을 미치게 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 번역팀이 신약성경 번역을 계속하는 동안 하나님께서 인도해 주시고 보호해 주시기를 기도해 주세요.

Amam Scriptures speaking powerfully: Papua New Guinea

Recently the Amam team was checking the draft of Matthew’s Gospel with a consultant. The team listened intently as translator Awi Manga read the translated Scriptures aloud. When Awi read Matthew 26:75, about Peter’s denial of knowing Jesus, he suddenly stopped and tried to clear his throat. He began to cry. “This is speaking directly to me. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, but when trouble comes, I run away and disown him,” Awi said. This was not the only time that God’s Word touched Awi deeply during consultant checking. The rest of the Amam team also expressed how the Word in their language was speaking powerfully into their lives. Praise God for the successful checking of Matthew, 1 and 2 Timothy and James in March and for the impact that the Amam Scriptures are already having on the team. Pray for God’s guidance and protection as they continue with the New Testament translation.

눈에 띄는 공동체의 변화: 부르키나파소, 구어 성경 번역

앤트바 ANTBA(성경번역 및 문해 협회)는 성경을 받아들이려 하지 않는 지역 내에서 구어 성경 번역(Oral Bible Translation)을 통해 변화되고 있는 부르키나 파소 사람들로 인해 하나님께 감사를 드립니다. 코론페 지역의 한 전통 추장은 자신들의 모어로 된 하나님의 말씀을 일부 듣고 나서 예수님께 자신의 삶을 바쳤습니다. 그는 전주민들의 변화와 테러리스트들의 공격으로 부터 안전을 위해 기도해 달라고 요청합니다. 또한 다가리 줄라 민족을 인해 하나님께 감사드립니다. 이 지역에 이미 다른 종교가 강하게 영향력을 미치고 있으며기독교에 대한 거부감이 있음에도 불구하고 우선적으로 진행된 구어 번역 성경이 공동체 내에서 획기적인 변화를 이끌었습니다. 이곳에 교회가 세워지고 여러 가정에서 온 가족이 예수님을 영접하게 됨을 인해 하나님께 감사드립니다. 6월 3일 누니 신약성경 봉헌 이후 지역 및 교회 지도자들을 통해 누니 공동체 사람들의 삶이 변화되었음을 간증하게 하신 하나님께 감사드립니다.

Observable transformation of the community (OBT): Burkina Faso

The Association National pour la Traduction de la Bible et l’Alphabétisation (ANTBA) thanks God for the people of Burkina Faso who are being transformed by oral Bible translation (OBT) in areas that are resistant to the Scriptures. A traditional chief in the Koronfé area gave his life to Christ after listening to portions of God’s Word in his language. He requests prayers for the holistic transformation of his people and for security because of attacks from terrorist groups. Thank God also for the Dagari Djula people. Despite the strong presence of another religion in their area, and their reluctance toward Christianity, initial OBT Scriptures have made a breakthrough in the community. Thank God for the church that has been planted there and for whole families that have received Christ. Thank God that following the dedication of the Nuni New Testament on 3 June, local and church authorities have testified to the transformation of people’s lives in the Nuni community.
