윤 선교사는 하나님의 때에 준비된 헌신된 사람들이 적재적소에 배치되도록 돕는 선교사 허입 수속과, 선교 사역에 있어서 가장 전략적 사역인 기도 및 각종 선교훈련 동원 프로그램 등의 요긴한 사역을 기쁨으로 감당하며 주님이 맡겨주신 은사로 최선을 다해 섬기고 있습니다. 팀 사역으로 주간 기도제목을 나눌 때마다, 더 자세한 내용을 알고자 문의하는 분들이나, 함께 기도하고 있다면서 격려의 말씀을 해주는 분들을 통해 힘을 주시는 하나님께 감사드립니다! 윤 선교사의 사역을 통해 더 많은 사람들이 성경 없는 민족들을 향한 하나님의 열정을 갖고 성경번역 운동에 동참하도록 기도해 주세요. 여름 두 달 동안의 안식월로 잘 충전하고 사역에 복귀하였는데, 최근 재정 후원이 현저히 낮아져서 9월부터 사역의 범위를 일부 조정하였습니다. 윤 선교사의 필요를 공급해 주시는 하나님을 신뢰하며 계속 섬길 수 있도록, 더 많은 분들과 교회가 재정으로 동역해 주시도록 기도해 주세요.

Daniel (/Helen) Yoon: Engagement & Application Advisor for Korean Diaspora

With God-given gifts and joyfulness Daniel has done his best as an application advisor to ensure that committed people are placed in the right role at the right time while serving the most strategic ministries of prayer, various mission training, and mobilization programs. We praise God for the encouragement we receive from those who inquire to learn more, and those who say that they are praying alongside with us as Weekly Prayer Bulletins are shared. Please pray that through Daniel's ministry more people will be inspired to join the Bible translation movement and to pray with passionately for Bibleless peoples. Daniel has come back to ministry well-rested and recharged after his two-month sabbatical. However, due to significantly lower financial support, Daniel has had to make some adjustments to the scope (FTE) of his ministry beginning in September. Trusting God for His provision for the Yoon's needs, please pray with them for fruitfulness in Partnership Development (PD) activities.

9월 19일부터 열린 카이로스 코스에 다섯 교회에서 여러분들이 참여하게 되었음에 감사드립니다! 또한 CMCA 모자이크 도시 선교사 양성과정에서도 카이로스 코스를 온라인과 대면으로 토론토 지역 지역 카이로스 코스와 함께 진행할 수 있게 되었음에 감사드립니다! CMCA와 여러 교회들의 협력에 감사드리고, 이규준/한진숙 선교사가 다른 조력자 분들과 함께 코스를 잘 섬기며, 성경 번역 선교의 비전이 잘 나눠지게 기도해 주세요. 이규준 선교사는 지난 20일부터 30일까지 태국, 치앙마이에서 열리는 심플리 모빌라이징 국제 컨퍼런스에 참여 중인데, 새롭게 개발된 청소년/청년 위한 훌륭한 선교훈련 프로그램이 개발되었음에 감사드리며, 10월부터 이 프로그램으로 많은 교회들이 유익을 얻게 되길 기도합니다. 10/1일에는 위클리프 태국 대표와 만나 캐나다 내 중국인 교회와 한인교회의 협력에 대해 논의할 예정입니다. 돌아오는 길에 한국에 들려 양가 부모님과 형제들도 뵙고 10월 6일에 돌아 옵니다. 모든 일정, 사역과 만남에 기름 부어주시고, 안전한 여행 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee: Director of Diaspora Engagement, Canada

We are thankful that participants from five different churches participated in the in-person Kairos Course for the GTA churches on September 19. We're also grateful that we are able to offer the hybrid Kairos Course through the CMCA's Mosaic City Missionary Training Program alongside the GTA Kairos Course! We give thanks for the partnership between CMCA and these churches as well. Please pray that Gyoojun and Jinsook will teach the course well, along with the other facilitators, and that the vision of Bible translation will be shared well. Gyoojun has been attending the Simply Mobilizing International Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand from September 20 - 30, and we are very grateful that a wonderful youth training program, The Unfinished Story for Youth, has been developed. We hope to serve churches with this program beginning this next month, October. Gyoojun will be meeting and having fellowship with the president of Wycliffe Thailand on Oct 1. On his way back he will stop in Korea briefly to visit his parents and siblings on both sides, and will return on October 6. Please pray for God's anointing on his schedule, ministries, other encounters, and for safe travels.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 멀티미디어 프로젝트, 나스카피(빌 & 노르마진 선교사, 프로젝트 책임자)

최근에는 여러 가지 이유로 오디오 또는 비디오와 같은 토속어 미디어 제작물들이 늘어났습니다. 많은 번역 프로젝트에서 자문위원 점검 후 언젠가는 해당 언어의 유능한 화자가 고품질의 녹음으로 번역된 성경을 완전히 낭독하는 것을 선호합니다. 나스카피의 경우, 우리는 신약성경 전체와 창세기, 출애굽기, 시편 등 출판된 모든 책들에 대해 이러한 미디어 작업을 수행했습니다. 신약성경, 창세기, 출애굽기의 오디오 버전은 완성되어 스트리밍, 다운로드 및 라디오 프로그램에서 사용할 수 있지만, 나스카피 시편은 현재 진행 중입니다. 지난 달, 시편 119편에 대한 미디어 프로그램을 완성함으로써 새 이정표를 세웠습니다. 이번에 완성된 총 150 편을 총 15개의 에피소드 중 나스카피어 시편에 대한 30분짜리 라디오 프로그램 또는 팟캐스트인 에피소드가 13장으로 구성되어 있습니다. 편집과 원판 작업을 계속 진행하면서 연말까지 시편 전체에 대한 모든 오디오 파일 제작을 완료하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 이번 달에 긴 시편 119편이 완성되는 것을 함께 기뻐해 주세요! 나스카피어 시편 오디오의 나머지 부분도 계속 잘 진척이 되도록, 그리고 11월 5일부터 10일까지 온타리오 구엘프에서 열리는 원주민 성경 번역가 연례 워크숍을 위해, 필요한 참가자들이 꼭 참석할 수 있도록, 워크숍을 섬길 사역팀과 외부 강사들을 통하여 하나님의 말씀을 자기네 원주민 언어로 번역할 수 있다는 자긍심과 능력을 갖출 수 있게 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Cree initiative: multimedia project, Naskapi (report from Bill & Norma Jean Jancewicz)

In recent years, for many reasons, we have added the production of vernacular media--audio or video. In many translation projects, sometime after the Consultant Check, we like to perform a complete read-through of the book of Scripture while doing a quality recording by a competent reader of the language. For Naskapi, we have done this for all of the published works: the entire New Testament, and books of Genesis, Exodus and the Psalms. While the audio version for the New Testament, Genesis and Exodus are completed and available for streaming, download and radio programs, we have been "catching up" with the work on the Naskapi book of Psalms. This past month, I reached a milestone by completing these programs for the 119th chapter of the Book of Psalms. This finished chapter comprises Episode 13, a half-hour radio program or podcast of the Book of Psalms in Naskapi, out of a projected total of 15 episodes planned for all 150 chapters. We have a goal to complete the production of all the audio files for the entire book of Psalms before the end of the year, as we continue to work on the editing and mastering. Rejoice with us for the completion of Psalm 119 this month! Please remember to pray for us as we continue our way through the rest of the audio for the Book of Psalms in Naskapi. And remember to pray for the upcoming First Nations Bible Translator Workshop that we are helping to coordinate, in Guelph Ontario, November 5-10. Pray that the participants that need to be there will be able to come, that the workshop staff and guests will be able to help them with their confidence and capacity to translate the Word of God into their own language.

기술적 방편에 대한 학습: 콜롬비아

콜롬비아 원주민 번역가이자 목사인 알프레도는 작년 멕시코에서 열린 제1회 스페인 EMDC* 회의에 참석한 14개국 70개 단체를 대표하는 180명의 참가자 중 한 명이었습니다. 알프레도와 그의 아내는 성경 번역, 배포 및 성경 활용을 위한 기술적 방편에 대해 배우고 성경을 통해 원주민 그룹을 섬기고자 하는 사역 및 여러 사람들과 연대를 맺을 수 있었습니다. 이 행사에 참석한 후 자신들이 배운 내용을 성경 번역과 관련된 지역 사회와 함께 공유할 수 있도록 훈련을 계속하는 도전을 받아들였습니다. 다음 스페인어 EMDC 모임이 11월 27일부터 12월 2일까지 콜롬비아에서 개최됩니다. 콜롬비아에서 섬기는 원주민 공동체들에 이러한 자료들을 잘 공유하도록 알프레드와 그의 아내에게 지혜 주시기를, 각 번역팀과 공동체가 그들에게 가장 적합한 방법들을 찾아 적용할 수 있도록, 이번 EMDC 행사의 모든 계획 들과 참석자들에게 하나님의 공급하심과 보호하심이 함께 하도록 기도해 주세요.
*EMDC는 유라시아 미디어 및 유통 컨설팅으로 시작되었으며 현재 전 세계적으로 영향을 미치고 있습니다. 스페인어권에서는 성경번역 전문가 및 타문화권 사역자들의 국제적 모임으로 알려져 있습니다.

Learning about technological tools: Colombia

Alfredo Campo, a Colombian indigenous translator and pastor, was one of 180 participants representing 70 organizations from 14 countries that attended the first Spanish EMDC* congress, held in Mexico in 2022. Alfredo and his wife learned about technological tools for the translation, distribution and use of the Scriptures and were able to create alliances with ministries and people focused on serving indigenous groups. After attending, they accepted the challenge to continue their training so they can share what they are learning with the communities they serve that are involved in Bible translation. The next EMDC congress in Spanish will be held in Colombia 27 November to 2 December. Pray for wisdom for Alfredo and his wife as they share these tools with the indigenous communities that they serve in Colombia. Pray that each translation team and community can implement the tools that will serve them best. Pray for the logistics for this upcoming EMDC event and for provision and protection for each attendee. *EMDC originated as Eurasia Media & Distribution Consultation and now has a global reach. In Spanish speaking settings it is known as Escrituras Medios Difusión Comunidad.

세계 번역의 날을 맞아 성경 번역을 기념: 전세계

2017년 유엔은 성경을 라틴어로 번역한 제롬을 기리며 9월 30일을 세계 번역의 날로 선포했습니다. 오랫동안 성경 번역 운동에 참여해온 사람들은 이날을 성경 번역을 기념하는 날로 지정했습니다. 오늘날 수천 개의 언어 공동체가 자기네들이 가장 잘 이해할 수 있는 언어로 번역된 성경을 접할 수 있습니다. 제롬은 AD 404년에 라틴어로 성경을 번역한 선구자로 기억되며 후대 번역가들에게 '도구 상자'로서의 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있습니다. 마찬가지로, 오늘날 성경 번역 운동에 참여하는 많은 이들이 빠르게 변화하는 세상에서 새로운 작업 방식을 개척하고 새로운 동역 관계를 만들어가고 있습니다. 이제 자신들이 가장 잘 이해하는 언어로 하나님의 말씀을 접할 수 있게 된 언어 공동체들을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다. 각 각의 번역 상황을 통해 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지고 그 결과 모든 사람이 그 말씀을 통해 변화를 경험하는 하나님과의 만남의 기회를 가질 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Celebrating Bible translation on International Translation Day: Global

In 2017, the United Nations declared 30 September as International Translation Day, in honor of Jerome, who translated the Bible into Latin. For many years, people in the Bible translation movement have marked this as a day to celebrate Bible translation. Today, thousands of language communities have been able to obtain access to the translated Scriptures in the languages they understand best. Jerome pioneered translation of the Bible into Latin in AD 404, which became an important addition to the ‘toolbox’ of future translators. Similarly, many involved in the Bible translation movement today are pioneering new ways of working and forging new partnerships in a rapidly changing world. Praise God for each language community that now has access to his Word in a language they understand best. Pray for God’s will to be done in each translation context and that as a result, every person can have the opportunity for a transforming encounter with God through his Word.
