박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 파푸아뉴기니 카니누와족 성경번역

박 선교사 부부가 소속되어 있는 우까룸파 현지 본부에서는 매월 한 번 기도의 날로 모입니다. 이날은 하던 모든 일을 멈추고 (본부의 모든 부서와 가게, 정비소, 진료실, 약국도 문을 닫고, 경비행기도 운항하지 않습니다), 함께 모여 기도하며 찬양하는 시간입니다. 1월에는 주제별로 7개의 장소에서 순회하며 기도하였는데, 생각지도 못한 은혜와 감동의 시간을 가진 것을 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다. 성도들의 기도는 천사들이 보좌 앞에 올려드리는 금대접의 향입니다 (요한계시록 5:8). 올 한 해도 카니누와 성경 번역을 위하여 함께 기도해 주세요.

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

At the PNG field headquarters in Ukarumpa, where the Parks serve, they meet monthly for a day of prayer. It's a time to stop everything everyone is doing (every department at Ukarumpa, every shop, auto shop, doctor's office, and pharmacy is closed, and no airplanes are flying) and come together to pray and praise. In January, we prayed, going through seven different stations by theme, and we praised God for unexpected times of grace and inspiration. The prayers of the saints are the incense of golden bowls that the angels hold up before the throne (Revelation 5:8). Please continue to join us in praying for the Kaninuwa Bible translation project this year.

에드먼턴 지역 한국어 카이로스 코스

2월 6일부터 3월 26일까지 매주 화요일 저녁과 3월 16일 하루 종일, 앨버타주 에드먼턴 지역 교회들을 위한 카이로스 한국어 코스가 하이브리드방식으로 열리게 됨을 감사드립니다. 팬데믹 이후 다시 열리는 이 코스를 통해 참가하는 성도들이 선교적 삶의 도전을 받을 뿐만 아니라, 지역 내에 하나님의 선교 운동이 재개되고 활성화 되도록 기도해 주세요. 책임 조력자로 섬기는 이 선교사 부부와 함께 팀으로 섬기는 조력자들을 위해서도 기도해 주세요. .

Kairos Korean Course for churches in the Edmonton area

We are thankful for the hybrid Korean Kairos course for churches in the Edmonton area. It will be held every Tuesday evening starting Tuesday, February 6, ending on March 26 online, and one day on March 16 in person. Pray that this post-pandemic course will challenge the participating believers to live a missional life and that God's missionary movement in the region will be renewed and revitalized. Pray also for Gyoojun and Jinsook, who will serve as head facilitators with other facilitators as a team.

새로운 협력 계획: 파푸아뉴기니

수아우 언어 공동체의 번역가들과 교회 리더들이 파푸아뉴기니성경번역협회와 파푸아뉴기니성서공회간의 새로운 협력 계획 착수에 함께했습니다. 11월 19일 나바부 마을에서 예배를 드리며 파푸아뉴기니성서공회의 요엘 사무총장이 양해각서를 낭독하고 연합교회 앤써니 목사가 동역의 시작을 위한 헌납 기도를 드렸습니다. 2024년 수아우 신약성경 개정을 격려하고 가속화하기 위한 이 새로운 협력 계획을 인해 하나님을 찬양합니다. 번역가들이 영국 및 외국 성서공회들이 발간한 구약 부분과, 1956년 처음 출판되었던 신약 성경의 개정 작업을 시작하고 수아우 구약성경 번역을 계속하는 동안 번역가들이 굳건히 사역을 감당할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요

New collaboration initiative: Papua New Guinea

Translators and church leaders from the Suau language community participated in launching a new collaboration initiative between the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association and the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea (BSPNG). During the church service in Navabu village on 19 November, the memorandum of understanding was read by Joel Peter, BSPNG General Secretary. Rev Anthony Mayholm of the United Church offered the dedicatory prayer to launch the partnership. Praise God for this new collaboration initiative to encourage and accelerate the revision of the Suau New Testament in 2024. Pray for the translators to be steadfast in their work as they continue with the Suau Old Testament translation and begin revising the New Testament, first published in 1956, along with Old Testament portions by the British and Foreign Bible Societies.

Friendship, a key to collaboration: Global

Many in the Alliance are growing in understanding that deepening friendships and relationships are foundational, not just a means to an end. This year, the Alliance is holding several meetings, including the Global Gathering and consultative processes like the Bible translation and church consultations. Pray that these events will, first and foremost, deepen existing friendships and help new relationships to grow.

JAARS Prayerline

Pray for our Global Operations team as they interact with political leaders and nongovernment organizations to open new fields within the dense rainforests of South America, Africa, and Melanesia. Strategically placed transportation hubs would supply vital personnel, equipment, and resources to begin mission work in currently unreached areas of the world. Pray, too, that God would raise up many gospel patrons who will give generously out of their abundance to advance God’s kingdom.

Pray for the maintenance needs of the Kwadima II, and for the specialized river vessels and operational training, we provide our mission partners in Africa and South America. Pray also for the life-saving water safety equipment and training we provide to their personnel.
