잘스 선교 비전 여행

지난 주 2박 3일 동안 이규준 선교사가 열린문교회 청소년 팀을 대상으로, 성경번역 선교를 위한 잘스의 기술 지원 사역을 근간으로 하여, 사역으로서의 삶과 직업에 대해, 전임 선교사로서의 헌신과 보람에 대해, 또한 성경번역 선교의 내용과 중요성에 촛점을 맞추어 다양한 활동 프로그램을 통해 심도 있게 나누었음에 감사드립니다. 또한 이 선교사가 잘스의 대표/부대표와 만나 지속적인 교회 섬김/동원 프로그램에 대해 함께 비전을 나눴음에도 감사드립니다. 참가한 열린문교회 학생들과 교사분들께 감사드리며, 모두가 이번 기회를 통해 성령께서 주신 비전을 삶으로 잘 통합하고 발전시켜 나가도록 기도해 주세요.

JAARS Missions Vision Trip

We are grateful for the two days and two nights Gyoojun spent with the Open Door Church youth team earlier this week, during which he shared in-depth about a Christian's life and work as a ministry. He shared the commitment and rewards of being a full-time missionary, the content of Bible translation, and its importance. He used various activities to demonstrate how JAARS's technical services support Bible translation. We are also grateful for Gyoojun's opportunity to meet with the President and Vice President of JAARS to share our vision for the ongoing church-serving ministries/mobilization program. Many thanks to the Open Door Church students and teachers who participated. Please pray that they will be able to integrate and develop the vision the Holy Spirit gave them through this exposure to JAARS and its ministry.

4월 2-6일 동안 기도, 개발(펀드레이징), 동원, 디아스포라 협력 등 위클리프캐나다의 교회 협력 부서 전체 팀 수련회 및 훈련이 진행됩니다. 참석하는 디아스포라 협력 팀원들 모두를 위해 기도해 주시고, 이번 기간에 배우게 되는 즐겁고 풍성한 나눔의 삶 (Joyful Journey of Generosity) 훈련을 통해 풍성한 나눔의 삶을 살며, 다른 분들을 동일한 삶의 방식으로 초대할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Church Partnership Departments Retreat

From April 2-6, Wycliffe Canada will be hosting a team retreat and training for all of our church partnership departments: Prayer, Development (fundraising), Mobilization, and Diaspora Engagement. Pray for all Diaspora Engagement team members who attend that they will live an abundant life of giving through the Joyful Journey of Generosity training. From what they learn, may they be able to invite others to live in the same manner.

30 Days of Prayer for Muslims in Canada

We thankfully share the prayer request items developed by Loving Muslims Together for Muslims in Canada during Ramadan. We hope you will join the prayer movement for Muslims, praying for Bible translation projects carried out for language groups with Islamic beliefs worldwide, especially in some parts of Africa, Middle Asia, South East Asia, and the Muslim diaspora scattered around the world.

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 오지-크리

요한복음 번역 작업이 더 이상 지체되지 않고 진행될 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 매튜 선교사의 보고에 따르면, 보통 번역 작업을 하는 여러 원주민 장로들의 건강이 좋지 않다고 합니다. 카니나 윈터는 현재 병원에 입원 중이며, 번역가인 딸 제시가 동생들과 함께 연로하신 아버지를 돌보는 일을 돕고 있습니다. 제시 자신도 최근 관절염으로 인해 고통을 겪고 있습니다. 또 다른 동료 번역가인 이본은 발목이 부러져 몇 주 동안 쉬고 있습니다. 두 사람을 위해 기도해 주세요. 지난 몇 달 동안 자살 사건으로 딸을 잃은 가족들을 위해 계속해서 기도해 주세요. 하나님의 은혜가 오지 크리 프로젝트 팀원들과 그들의 사역, 그리고 오지 크리 공동체 모두가 강건하도록 손모아 주세요.

Cree initiative: Oji-Cree

Pray that the review of the gospel of John will move ahead without further delay. According to Matt Windsor’s report, several elders who usually work on translation are in poor health. Kanina Winter is out at the hospital right now, and her daughter Jessie (a Bible translator) has been helping fill the gap with her siblings to take care of her elderly father. Jessie herself has recently been experiencing pain from arthritis. Yvonne, our other co-worker, broke her ankle and is taking a few weeks off. Please pray for each of them. Continue to pray for the families who lost their daughters in the last few months. Pray that God's grace strengthens the Oji-Cree project members, their ministries, and the Oji-Cree communities.

자미나와 성경 봉헌 축하행사: 브라질

자미나와 사람들은 자기네 말로 된 성경 책들이 든 큰 상자가 배달되자 기뻐했습니다. 이제 그들은 성경을 배포하며 학교에서 성경 본문을 사용할 계획입니다. 누가복음을 바탕으로 한 성경 영화도 완성되어 마을에서 상영될 예정입니다. 한편 번역팀은 구전으로 룻기를 녹음해 저녁 모임이나 집안일, 낚시, 농작물을 돌보는 동안 들을 수 있는 또 다른 자료로 제공합니다. 다음으로 마태복음과 요한복음, 사도행전, 그리고 요한 서신서들을 번역할 계획입니다. 성경을 받아 공동체에 배포할 수 있게 된 자미나와 사람들을 인하여 감사드리며, 팀이 번역할 나머지 성경책들에 대해 새롭게 협의하는 과정도 잘 진척되도록 손모아 주세요.

Celebration among the Jaminawa: Brazil

Jaminawa people rejoiced as a large box of Scripture books in their language was delivered. Now, they are distributing the books and plan to use the biblical texts in their schools. The Bible film based on the Gospel of Luke was also completed and will be shown in the villages. Meanwhile, the team recorded the oral version of the book of Ruth. This provides another resource to be listened to during evening gatherings, housework, fishing, or while tending to crops. Next, the team plans to translate the Gospels of Matthew and John, the book of Acts, and John’s epistles. Give thanks to the Jaminawa who have received copies of Scripture to distribute among their communities. Pray that the Jaminawa team can adapt to a new consultation process so that the remaining books can be translated.

Translation consultants: Papua New Guinea

Duncan Kasokason and Kidu Magi are translation consultants from the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association. Praise the Lord for their availability and commitment to serve other language communities in the country. They have a full consultant checking schedule for this year. Pray for their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Ask the Lord to watch over their families when they are away for long periods. Some language communities are in hard-to-reach locations. Pray for the Lord’s provision and protection in their travels. Ask the Lord to give these consultants joy as they serve him in this capacity. Pray for training more translation consultants to ease the load of checking Scriptures.

JAARS Prayerline

In parts of Africa, 98% of roads are unpaved, and the rainy season lasts for half the year. Tough as it is, the best way for translators to get input, test drafts, help churches, and start literacy classes is to visit local communities. That’s why JAARS paves the way for our partners by providing them with motorbikes, 4WD vehicles, safety equipment, and driving and maintenance training. Please pray for the 4WD vehicles and motorcycles that we provide our mission organization partners worldwide and operational and maintenance training for their personnel.
