박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 파푸아뉴기니 카니누와족 성경번역

감사하게도 박선교사 부부와 번역팀이 그동안 정리하고 수정해 왔던 카니누와어 철자법및 음운론 소논문이 지난 3월에 때맞춰 통과되어 카니누와어 철자법이 공식 승인되었습니다. 6월 중에 인쇄 계획인 “구약 파노라마” 책 출판을 위해 꼭 필요한 과정이었기 때문입니다. 이번 5월 안에 조판 작업을 마무리하고, 본문 점검, 필요한 삽화 추가 등을 잘 마쳐서, 우까룸빠 PNG 본부 출판부의 협력으로 6월 중에 인쇄를 잘 마칠 수 있도록, 또한 계속해서 야고보서와 베드로 전후서를 초역할 계획인데 잘 준비하여 모든 사역들이 순조롭도록 기도해 주세요.

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

Thankfully, the Kaninuwa translation team, including the Parks, has been checking and revising their thesis on the Kaninuwa orthography and phonology, and it was just approved in March. It was done in God's time as the team needed this approval before they published the “Old Testament Panorama” book, which is scheduled in June. Please pray that the team will finish the typesetting, check the text, and add the necessary illustrations in May. They will finish printing in June with the cooperation of the Publishing Department at the Ukarumpa Center. Please pray for the drafting of the translation of James and First and Second Peter, that preparation and all the work will go smoothly.

어린이 RBBB

에드먼턴한인안디옥장로교회(한흥렬 담임목사)에서는 올해 초부터 부모와 자녀가 함께 하는 어린이 성경읽기 및 성경 없는 부족 축복하기(RBBB) 운동에 참여하고 있습니다. 온라인에 준비되어 있는 성경읽기 진도표와 삽화가 곁들여진 성경번역 선교 이야기를 매주 읽으며 함께 성경없는 부족들을 위해 기도하고 헌금하는 운동입니다. 주일학교 담당 전도사와 선생님이 학부모들과 연계하여 벌이고 있는 이 운동을 통해, 자녀들에게 어려서부터 주의 말씀을 사모하게 되고, 영원한 양식이 없어 영원히 목마르고 주리고 있는, 같은 성경없는 부족의 어린이들을 위해 함께 기도하며 축복하는 사역이 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Children's RBBB

Sunday school students of Edmonton Korean Antioch Presbyterian Church(Rev. Henry Han, senior pastor) have participated in the Children's RBBB (Read the Bible Bless the Bibleless), a Scripture engagement movement, since the beginning of this year. The idea is to read the Bible three times a week, 30-45 verses, with an illustrated Bible translation mission story each week and an online Bible reading progress chart, and pray and give to the Bible-less tribes together. Pray that the Sunday school pastors and teachers, in partnership with parents, will lead their children to desire the Lord's Word from an early age and that they will pray and bless the children of the same Bible-less tribes who are forever thirsting and hungering for eternal food.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아주세요)
실크로드의 기도 요청들은 보안 지역의 척박한 땅을 일구는 사역들을 중보하는 기도입니다. 사역팀이 지속 가능한 문해 사역과 교육 개발을 섬기며 매우 실질적인 방법으로 공동체를 사랑하는데, 이로써 사람들의 삶이 변화되고 주께 영광 돌리게 되리라 믿습니다.
W 프로젝트: 문해 사역의 가치

한 소녀는 “독서도 좋고 바느질을 배우는 것도 참 좋아요.”라고 말하며 자신의 감정을 공유했습니다. 이 간단한 간증에서 그녀는 문해 교육과 바느질과 같은 실용적인 능력 모두에서 자신이 생각하는 가치를 강조하며, 개인의 성장과 역량 강화를 위해 이 두 가지가 다 필요하다는 그녀의 인식을 보여준 것입니다. W 프로젝트에서 젊은 여성들에게서도 그 문해 사역으로 인한 가치를 발견할 수 있다는 사실을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다! 계속해서 이 프로젝트를 위하여 기도해 주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
The following prayer requests are for the soil tilling efforts in this sensitive area. By serving the community in sustainable literacy and education development, the team is loving the community efficiently. This paves the way for sustainable Bible translation work, which we believe the Lord will use to transform lives for His glory.
W Project: Literacy Valued

A girl shared her feelings by saying, "Reading is good, and learning to sew is good too." In her simple statement, she highlighted the value she sees in both literacy and practical abilities like sewing. It shows her awareness that both are needed for personal growth and empowerment. Praise God that value is seen in the W project, even in young women! Please continue to pray for this project.

열심있는 프로젝트 사역자와 문해 사역 훈련가들: 남아시아

헌신적인 프로젝트 사역자들과 훈련가들의 열심을 통해 언어 공동체들이 문해 능력과 독서에 대한 사랑을 키울 수 있게 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 또한 몇 몇 언어로 처음으로 준비되고 있는 읽기 자료와 성경을 기반으로 한 책들을 인해 주를 찬양합니다. 문해사역 조력자들과 교사들의 사역이 순조롭게 진행되도록, 이 사역을 방해하는 것들로부터 지켜주시도록, 아내의 오랜 지병과 믿지 않는 가족들로부터의 어려움으로 인해 낙담하고 있는 한 문해 조력자를 치유해 주시도록, 주님께서 그를 붙들어주셔서 사역을 계속할 수 있도록 힘주시기를 기도해 주세요.

Committed project staff and literacy trainers: South Asia

Praise God for the committed literacy project staff and trainers enthusiastic about helping language communities develop literacy skills and a love for reading. Praise God for reading materials and Scripture-based books that are being prepared for the first time in a few languages. Pray that the work of literacy facilitators and teachers will go smoothly, and pray that they will be protected from those who challenge their work. Pray that the Lord will heal a literacy facilitator who is discouraged by the prolonged ill health of his wife as well as facing challenges from his family members who are not followers of Christ. Ask the Lord to sustain him and encourage him to continue his work.

Evaluating processes: Germany

Like many organizations in the Wycliffe Global Alliance, Wycliffe Germany is reflecting on how best to position staff in a changing world and adapt working methods to be well-equipped for the future. Administrative staff are evaluating their processes around recruiting and training new members and other areas of personnel work. Developing a team with complementary professional skills is crucial for working effectively. Please pray for wisdom and clarity in seeking the best way forward to find people with the appropriate giftings for each position in a timely fashion. The team also appreciates your prayers to find the time and space to process these issues in the busyness of day-to-day responsibilities.

JAARS Prayerline

In parts of Africa, 98% of roads are unpaved, and the rainy season lasts for half the year. Tough as it is, the best way for translators to get input, test drafts, help churches, and start literacy classes is to visit local communities. That’s why JAARS paves the way for our partners by providing them with motorbikes, 4WD vehicles, safety equipment, and driving and maintenance training. Please pray for the 4WD vehicles and motorcycles that we provide our mission organization partners worldwide and operational and maintenance training for their personnel.
