알버트/마르다 (이삭, 모세) 선교사: 위클리프 대만 대표, 보안국 지역 책임자

알버트 선교사는 5월14일-16일까지 위클리프 국제연대 아시아-태평양 지역 지도자 회의 개최 준비를 돕고 참가합니다. 마르다도 여러 가지 준비하는 일들로 함께 이 행사를 도울 예정입니다. 모든 참가자들이 평안히 대만에 잘 도착하도록, 그리고 모임이 하나님의 은혜로 잘 진행되도록 기도해 주세요. 이어서 다음 주 5월 20-24일에는 위클리프 대만에서 AI를 활용한 성경번역 웍샵을 주최합니다. 시라야족 성경 번역 프로젝트와 대만 선교사가 섬기는 PNG의 번역 프로젝트에서 직접 AI 방식을 사용할 계획입니다. 약 30여 명이 참가하는 모든 이들에게 풍성한 열매가 있는 워크샾이 되도록, 대만에서 열리는 두 모임을 위해 알버트, 마르다 선교사와, 함께 돕는 모든 이들에게 은혜와 지혜 주셔서 잘 섬길 수 있도록 기도해 주세요

Albert and Martha (Isaac, Moses): Director of Wycliffe Taiwan and Language Program Manager of a sensitive area, respectively

Albert will be helping organize and attending the WGA Asia-Pacific Directors meeting on May 14-16. Martha will also help with the details of the meeting. Please pray that all participants arrive safely in Taiwan and that the meeting will go well by God's grace. Wycliffe Taiwan will also host the AI-aided Bible Translation workshop the following week, May 20-24. A Bible translation project in PNG served by a member of Wycliffe Taiwan and the Siraya Bible Translation Project plan to use a direct AI-aided translation method. Pray for a fruitful workshop for all 30 or so participants. Pray for grace and wisdom for Albert, Martha, and all those helping with the two gatherings in Taiwan so that they would serve well.

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 파푸아뉴기니 카니누와족 성경번역

카니누와팀이 이전에 번역한 마태복음과 요한계시록의 최종 점검을 준비 중인데 두 책을 점검해 줄 자문 위원이 잘 선정되고 이에 따른 일정 등 세부 준비가 잘 되도록 기도해 주세요. 8월 말경에 알로타우에서 진행될 “현지인 번역사역자 훈련 프로그램 (TTC 1)”에 사이몬, 케일로, 프리실라 세 사람이 참가할 예정이며, 조 선교사는 녹내장 치료/ 박 선교사는 백내장 정기 검사와 치과 진료를 받기 위해 한국을 방문할 예정입니다. 카니누와 번역 사역자들은 마을 공동체와 함께 기도로 준비하여 TTC 1에 잘 참여하고, 박선교사 부부는 치료 잘 받고 오도록 기도해 주시고, 팀원 모두가 영육 간에 강건하여 각자의 부르심에 온전히 순종할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

As the Kaninuwa translation team prepares for the final checking of the previously translated books of Matthew and Revelation, pray that the right consultants will be chosen to review the books and that the timeline and other details will be in place. Simon, Keilo, and Priscilla will be participating in the "Translator Training Course 1" (TTC 1) in Alotau at the end of August, and they are praying with the community to prepare. The Parks will be traveling to Korea for a while for their medical treatments, with Joyce receiving glaucoma treatment and Joseph a routine cataract exam and dental care. Please pray that each team member, along with the local translators, would be strong in spirit and body to obey their calling fully.

“L” 프로젝트 이야기: 성경번역, 보안지역

한 소녀는 “독서도 좋고 바느질을 배우는 것도 참 좋아요.”라고 말하며 자신의 감정을 공유했습니다. 이 간단한 간증에서 그녀는 문해 교육과 바느질과 같은 실용적인 능력 모두에서 자신이 생각하는 가치를 강조하며, 개인의 성장과 역량 강화를 위해 이 두 가지가 다 필요하다는 그녀의 인식을 보여준 것입니다. W 프로젝트에서 젊은 여성들에게서도 그 문해 사역으로 인한 가치를 발견할 수 있다는 사실을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다! 계속해서 이 프로젝트를 위하여 기도해 주세요.

“L” project update: Bible translation in a sensitive area
(Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

Pray for developing our literacy videos designed to teach people who can't read or those who can read Thai how to read the L language. We plan to have around 80 videos that will be uploaded to YouTube and Facebook (and soon TikTok and Instagram). This will take a few months to get through. Pray these videos will help L people to get excited about learning to read their language. Pray for Greg & Rosie as they plan two trips home to New Zealand this year for their son Steve's wedding in July and a short home assignment for four months from November. Please continue to pray for more L people to come to know Jesus. Pray for the Goals of the L Project: (1) App publication of the Gospel of Mark before they get to New Zealand in July, (2) Team check of James followed by a community checking and consultant checking, (3) Work on a new version of the Songbook, which will include the new songs that have been translated and its printing.

동원과 파송: 나이지리아

나이지리아 성경번역재단이 성경 번역 운동에 참여하는 다른 단체들과 함께 협력할 사역자들을 동원하고 배치하며 변함없이 헌신함을 인하여 하나님께 찬양을 돌립니다. 재단은 복음주의 교회협의회, 에스아이엘, 글로벌 파트너십과 같은 기관들에서 성경 번역으로 섬기게 될 사역자들을 파송해왔습니다. 또한 재단은 에스아이엘의 케이티 선교사가 사역자 한 사람을 성경 번역 자문 위원으로의 인증 과정에 도움을 주며 협회에 큰 혜택을 주었습니다. 재단 내 성경 번역의 발전에 있어 케이티 선교사의 중추적인 역할은 사람들을 선교로 동참하도록 동기를 부여했습니다. 동역 단체들과 협력하고 있는 헌신적인 사역자들을 위한 하나님의 인도, 보호하심과 채워주심을 위해, 하나님의 말씀을 나이지리아 현지 언어들로 번역하려는 이들의 열정이 흔들리지 않도록, 또한 재단이 지역적으로나 전 세계적으로 복음을 전파하는 데 계속해서 중요한 역할을 감당해 나가도록 기도해 주세요.

Receiving and sending people: Nigeria

Praise God for the steadfast dedication of Nigeria Bible Translation Trust (NBTT) to recruit and place individuals to collaborate with other organizations involved in the Bible translation movement. NBTT has seconded some staff to serve with the Bible Translation arm of ECWA (Evangelical Church Winning All), SIL, and Global Partnerships. NBTT also reaped significant benefits when SIL’s Katy Barnwell contributed to the Trust by aiding in certifying a staff member as a Bible translation consultant. Katy’s pivotal role in advancing Bible translation within the Trust has motivated increased engagement of people in the mission. Pray for divine guidance, protection, and provision for these devoted individuals working with partner organizations. Pray that their passion for translating God's Word into local languages in Nigeria remains unwavering. Pray also that NBTT continues to play a vital role in spreading the gospel locally and globally.

Area conference: Asia-Pacific, Taiwan

Much has changed since the leaders of Alliance organizations from Asia-Pacific last met in Bali. Political, social, and economic situations have become even more challenging in Bible translation movements. Thus, the area leadership team has scheduled the next area conference on 14-16 May in Taiwan for those serving in the area to come together to share, reflect, pray, and respond to the challenges. Invitations have been sent out to all leaders in the area. Pray for Wycliffe Taiwan, the local host, and the area leadership team as they design and run the three-day program. Pray that the meetings will be an encouragement to all who participate.

JAARS Prayerline

In parts of Africa, South America, and the Pacific, boats are the best—or sometimes the only way—to reach a remote village. But the trip can be harrowing: crowding onto rundown ships, often with no safety equipment, and plying rough waters far from any hope of help if something goes wrong. JAARS provides coastal communities with specialized vessels, including outfitting, delivery, and repair, as well as logistical and financial support for boat programs, safety equipment, signaling devices, emergency satellite beacons, and water safety training. Please pray that JAARS’s sea operation team may serve as the best support teamwork.
