Gyoojun and Jinsook Lee: Director of the Diaspora Engagement team

Gyoojun has been training a team from Toronto True Hope Church (their home church) for a vision trip to the Dominican Republic. He has also been involved with another vision trip team from the Presbyterian Church of New Jersey using the Interface Seminar program. Please pray that all these participants will discover what God is doing in these respective fields and that they will keep living missional lives when they return to their daily routines. Pray also that the Diaspora Engagement team will have a new volunteer after Gyoojun meets with a prospective volunteer candidate this coming Tuesday evening.

이규준 선교사가 파송교회인 토론토참소망교회의 도미니카 공화국 비전 트림 팀 사역을 위한 훈련과, 인터페이스 프로그램을 통하여 뉴저지한인장로교회 비전 트립 팀들을 섬기고 있습니다. 비전 트립을 통해 교회와 참가자들이 선교 현장에서 하나님이 하시는 일들을 발견하고 배움으로, 자신들의 삶의 현장에서도 선교적으로 살아갈 수 있도록 잘 훈련받게 기도해 주세요. 중국인 자원봉사자 후보생을 화요일에 만나게 되는데, 비전이 잘 나눠지고 선한 동역 관계가 맺어지도록 기도해 주세요.

Tabitha Mah: planning an internship with SIL Eurasia

We are thankful for Tabitha, daughter of one of the Diaspora team members with a B.A. in linguistics, as she is planning to do an internship with Wycliffe Canada. Her assignment is with the SIL Eurasia group and she is in the process of partnership development. She is very thankful that she has learned a lot from the prospective partners she has met with. Please pray that her financial needs for the 8 months of her internship will be met soon. So far she has raised 50% of her ministry budget.

Loving Muslims Together 단체에서 만든 30일간 무슬림을 위한 기도제목을 공유합니다. 라마다 기간 중에 주변의 무슬림 이웃과의 사랑과 복음 나눔을 위해, 현재 중앙아시아, 아프리카, 동남아시아 등 세계 여러 지역에서 무슬림 권 언어 민족들을 위한 성경번역 프로젝트를 위해 특별히 기도하는 기간이 되시길 바랍니다.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

The following prayer requests are prayers for the soil tilling efforts in this sensitive area. By serving the community in sustainable literacy and education development, the team is loving the community in very practical ways which pave the way for sustainable Bible translation work, which we believe the Lord will use to transform lives for His glory.

The Q project: Translation of the Q New Testament is nearing completion! In reading through the epistles several leaders of the fellowship groups have been greatly encouraged and found it most beneficial as they have discussed the passages. This has also provided great feedback on the translation. For many years, four Q-language fellowship groups have met in the main city of the language area. But recently, a fifth, unrelated group came to light in a city on the other side of the region. “Q believers are now in every corner of the district!” says Pastor R. “Only God knows how many fellowships are meeting now and no one can keep track of them.” The total number of Q fellowships and baptized believers are unknown, but those affiliated with the project are praising God for doing the impossible: establishing His Kingdom among the Q people, in a region long believed impenetrable by the gospel. Praise God that the translation of the New Testament is nearly finished! Pray for team members as they revise, proofread, and prepare the translated text for publication. Thank the Lord for the positive response of the review committee and their enjoyment in reading the Epistles together. Pray for spiritual protection for each team member (and their family) during this critical juncture in the project. Praise God that the Q mother-tongue-based preschool is still running after outside funding ended, and that 35 underserved children still have access to high quality education for a good head start! 

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아주세요)

실크로드의 기도 요청들은 보안 지역의 척박한 땅을 일구는 사역들을 중보하는 기도입니다. 사역팀이 지속 가능한 문해 사역과 교육 개발을 섬기며 매우 실질적인 방법으로 공동체를 사랑하는데, 이로서 사람들의 삶이 변화되고 주께 영광 돌리게 되리라 믿습니다.

Q 프로젝트: Q 신약성경 번역이 거의 마무리 단계에 있습니다! 여러 지하회중 모임의 리더들이 자기네 모어로 된 바울 서신서를 통독하면서 큰 격려와 유익이 되었다고 했습니다. 이것은 또한 초벌 번역에 대한 훌륭한 피드백도 제공했습니다. 지난 수년 동안 Q 언어공동체에는 네 개의 신자들의 모임이 있었는데, 최근에 이 지역의 반대편 도시에서 전혀 관련이 없는 다섯 번째 모임을 발견했습니다. “이제 Q 신자들이 이 동네 구석구석마다 있습니다," "지금 얼마나 많은 산자들이 모이고 있는지 하나님만 아시고 아무도 추적할 수 없습니다." 라고 R목사는 말헀습니다. Q 교인들과 세례를 받은 신자들의 총 수는 알려지지 않았지만, 이 프로젝트에 참여한 사람들은 오랫동안 복음의 불모지로 여겨졌던 이 지역에 하나님의 나라를 세우신 하나님을 찬양하고 있습니다. 신약 성경 번역이 거의 마무리됨을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다! 번역된 본문의 점검, 교정, 그리고 출판 과정을 준비하는 팀원들을 위해 기도해 주세요. 번역에 대한 점검 위원들의 긍정적인 반응과 서신서를 함께 읽으며 즐거워하는 모습에 주님께 감사드립니다. 프로젝트의 이 중요한 시기에 모든 팀원들이 영적으로 보호받을 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 해외에서의 자금 지원이 종료된 후에도 타크 모어 기반 유치원이 계속 운영되고 있고, 35명의 소외계층 어린이들이 양질의 교육을 통해 좋은 출발을 할 수 있게 해주신 하나님을 찬송합니다!

Gibaio project development: Papua New Guinea 
Pray for the Gibaio project facilitator and developing translation team as they work on planning for translation and related language activities. The facilitator plans to spend time in the four Gibaio villages to encourage establishment of a language committee, encourage people to attend writers’ workshops and share the JESUS Film in Gibaio. As a part of the visit, she will help mentor a Gibaio team at a regional Oral Bible Storytelling workshop. Ask God to guide the team, facilitator and community as they move ahead on developing this project. 

지바이오 프로젝트 개발: 파푸아뉴기니

번역 및 관련 언어 사역들을 계획하고 있는 지바이오 프로젝트 조력자와 번역 개발 팀을 위해 기도해 주세요. 조력자가 4개의 지바이오 마을을 방문하며, 언어 위원회 설립과 작가 워크숍에 참석하도록 장려하며 지바이오 공동체에서 예수 영화를 상영할 계획입니다. 이번 방문의 일환으로 그녀는 지역 구전 성경 이야기 워크숍에서 지바이오팀을 멘토링으로 도울 것입니다. 이 프로젝트를 개발하고 진행하는 과정가운데 팀과 조력자, 그리고 공동체를 주께서 선히 인도해 주시기를 함께 기도해 주세요. 

Pukapuka translation progress: New Zealand, Cook Islands
Pukapuka translator Mailalo Melota and Wycliffe New Zealand staff Kevin and Mary Salisbury are rejoicing in God’s goodness as they review the progress made with the Pukapuka New Testament in recent months. Kevin is busy finalizing the selection of pictures, writing captions and completing the glossary. He will write introductions next. They have asked various Pukapuka people living in New Zealand to help review the Psalms. Pray for Paulus Kievet in the Netherlands as he begins typesetting the Pukapuka New Testament this month. Mary and Mailalo are reviewing a few dozen passages via the internet. Pray for fine weather so that the solar batteries can operate well in the daytime for Mai to have internet access. Pray for the Council of Chiefs as they engage with the team on the content of the Preface and matters regarding the publication and launch of the New Testament and Psalms. 

푸카푸카 번역 진척: 뉴질랜드, 쿡 제도

푸카푸카 번역가 마일라로와 위클리프 뉴질랜드의 사역자 케빈과 메리는 최근 몇 달 동안 푸카푸카 신약 번역의 진척 상황을 검토하며 하나님의 선하심을 인하여 기뻐하고 있습니다. 케빈은 삽입할 사진 선택과 캡션 작성, 용어집 완성을 마무리한느라 바쁘게 지내고 있고, 다음 단계로 소개글을 쓰려고 합니다. 뉴질랜드에 살고 있는  푸카푸카 사람들에게 시편 마을 점검을 도와달라고 요청했습니다. 이달부터 푸카푸카 신약성경 조판을 시작하는 네덜란드의 파울루스 사역자를 위해 기도해 주시고, 메리와 마일라로가 온라인으로 수십 개의 구절들을 점검 중입니다. 사역자 마이가 인터넷을 잘 사용하기 위해 낮동안 태양 전지가 잘 작동하도록 좋은 날씨를 위해서도 기도해 주시고, 서문의 내용과 신약성경 및 시편의 출판과 출시에 관한 문제들을 번역팀과 함께 협력이 잘 진행되도록 추장 협의회를 위해서도 기도해 주세요.

A national Bible translation organization in a sensitive Latin American country needs boats and outboard motors to conduct Bible translation for four language groups. Pray for funding so that JAARS can provide these needed resources. 

라틴 아메리카의 한 보안지역 성경 번역 단체는 4개의 언어권을 위한 성경 번역 사역을 위해 선교용 선박들과 선박용 엔진들이 필요합니다. 잘스가 이러한 자원들을 제공할 수 있도록 재정 모금을 위해 기도해 주세요.

Our Health Services department needs an administrator and a healthcare provider. Ask the Lord to send the people of his choice to fill these openings.
