Korean Kairos Course: Toronto and Langley

Two Korean Kairos courses will be starting this week--one for Grace Community Church (Rev. Shinil Park) and One Hope Church (Rev. Daniel Soe) in Langley, BC and the other in Toronto at Young Nak Church of Toronto (Rev. Minho Song, senior pastor). It runs from April 25 to June 13, every Tuesday evening and one full day on Saturday, June 3. We are thankful for the good number of participants, and ask you to pray that the participants will have a transformed Christian worldview in God's Mission to live a missional life, and that their churches will be missional as a result. Pray too that the mission mobilization movement will continue through the use of the Kairos course across Canada and with different languages as well. We covet your prayers for Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee to serve well with other facilitators and share the vision for the Bible translation movement during the course. 

한국어 카이로스 코스: 토론토와 랭리 지역

이번 주부터 동부와 서부에서 동시에 카이로스 코스가 열립니다. 비씨주 랭리에서는 그레이스 한인교회(박신일 담임목사)와 한소망교회(소성범 담임목사)에서, 토론토에서는 토론토영락교회(송민호 담임목사)에서 한국어 카이로스 코스가 4월 25일부터 6월 13일까지 매주 화요일 저녁과 6월 3일(토)에는 종일 코스로 진행됩니다. 많은 분들이 동참하게 됨에 감사드리고, 캐나다 전역에 계속해서 카이로스 코스를 통한 선교 동원 운동이 계속 일어나도록, 참가자들이 하나님의 선교를 통해 변화된 성경적 세계관으로 선교적 삶을 살게 되고, 이로 인해 교회가 더욱 선교적 교회로 변화되도록 기도해 주세요. 또한 다른 조력자들과 함께 섬기는 이규준/한진숙 선교사가 코스를 잘 섬기며 성경번역 선교의 비전을 잘 나눌 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

K Project: a K Cultural Celebration

The project leaders have been working hard to promote their language among diaspora/migrant K speakers who have left the language area for work and are living in other regions. In partnership with the minority language training institute, they began working with K speakers in two neighbouring major cities. This group eventually formed their own chapter of the local K cultural development program. Together they organized a special cultural gathering in the city to celebrate K cultural with focus on K poetry. Events also included local music, singing and their own style of dancing, which is socially discouraged in the language area. The School Coordinator brought twelve poets from the language area to perform their poetry. The Project Coordinator was also a speaker. The event, held at a large hotel, began at 7pm and finished at 2:15 am. The official participant list had 110 names, but as time went on, more men attended. It created relationship between the people living in the cities and the local poets and encouraged the youth in the use of their mother tongue in poetry, possibly encouraging new K poets for the future. One man living in the city said, “there is no innovation in the poetry of our language…in our area poetry has declined. Singing and dancing is discouraged. But you people are working on the language and organizing such programs. This will encourage the poets and increase the interest of the people, which will develop our poetry.” The language institute reports, “this event has ignited the zeal among the K speakers in the cities, and they have committed to hold the event frequently in the future.” Please pray for our SRA group conference in April 13-21 in a sensitive location. Pray for the planning committee to complete all the logistics, etc. Pray also for travelling plans, health, encouragement, and enrichment for all who attend.

K 프로젝트: 문화 행사

프로젝트 리더들은 직장을 구하기 위해 고향을 떠나 다른 지역에 흩어져 살고 있는 K 언어 사용자들에게 자기내 모어를 알리기 위해 열심히 노력해 왔고, 다중언어 교육 기관과 협력하여 인접한 두 개의 주요 도시에서 현지인 조력자들과 함께 일하기 시작했습니다. 현지 K 문화 개발 프로그램의 자체 지부를 결성하였고, 시를 중심으로 한 K문화를 기념하는 특별한 문화 행사를 열었습니다. 행사에는 현지 음악, 노래, K공동체에서 권장하지 않는 고전 무용도 포함되었고, 학교 코디네이터는 해당 언어권의 시인 12명을 초청하여 시를 낭송했습니다. 프로젝트 코디네이터도 연사로 참여했는데, 대형 호텔에서 열린 이 행사는 오후 7시에 시작하여 새벽에 끝났습니다. 공식 참가자 명단에는 110명의 이름이 있었지만 시간이 지날수록 더 많은 남자들이 참석했습니다. 이 행사를 통하여 타지에 사는 사람들과 현지 시인들 사이에 좋은 관계를 형성하고 청소년들이 모어로 지은 시를 사용하도록 장려하여 미래의 새로운 K 시인들을 격려할 수 있었습니다. 도시에 사는 한 남성은 "우리 시에는 혁신이 없고, 쇠퇴했다. 노래하고 춤추는 것을 장려하지 않지만, 여러분은 우리 모어를 연구하고 이런 행사를 열고 있는데, 이로 인하여 시인들을 격려하고 사람들의 관심을 높여 우리 시를 발전시킬 것입니다." 다중언어 기관측은 "이번 행사가 도시에 있는 K 사용자들의 열정에 불을 지폈고, 앞으로 이런 행사를 자주 열기로 약속했다"고 보고했습니다. 4월 중순에 다른 지역에서 열리는 실크로드 컨퍼런스를 위해, 준비위원회가 모든 물류 등 준비를 잘 할 수 있도록, 참석하는 모든 이들의 이동간의 안전과 건강, 격려와 풍성한 은혜가 있도록 기도해 주세요.

More people to serve with Wycliffe Canada
Wycliffe Canada staff are praying for more people to serve God with them. Please pray for more member care advisors and applications advisors. Pray for God's clear solution to the problem of insufficient staffing in these and other departments. Please pray that the team would know how best to support members and staff during a season when many feel weary. Praise God for a new volunteer internship coordinator. Ask God to give her wisdom and the freedom to use all of her gifts in this position. Pray for the Mobilization team as they plan a virtual event for May and an in-person trip in July for those exploring involvement with Wycliffe. Pray that God will connect the team with additional people they can invite, who are gifted and called to join the Bible Translation movement.

위클리프캐나다 사역자들은 더 많은 이들의 선교 헌신을 위해 기도하고 있습니다. 더 많은 회원 돌봄 담당자들과 허입 담당자들의 영입을 위해, 또한 인사부 및 다른 부서들의 인력 부족에 대해 하나님이 해결책을 허락해 주시기를, 많은 이들이 지치고 어려워 하는 이 기간 중에 팀원들과 사역자들을 가장 잘 지원할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 신임 자원봉사 인턴쉽 코디네이터를 세워 주심에 감사드리며, 그녀가 맡은 자리에서 은사를 온전히 사용할 수 있도록 지혜와 자유함 주시도록, 위클리프 선교에 함께 동참하고자 하는 사람들을 위한 5월 온라인 행사와 7월 대면 방문을 계획하고 있는 동원 사역팀을 위해, 그리고 하나님께서 이 행사들을 통해 성경 번역 운동에 동참하도록 은사와 부르심을 받은 많은 이들이 초대되어 성경번역 선교팀과 연결될 수 있기를 기도해 주세요.  

Community partners: Philippines
The Chief of Police in San Jose, in the province of Antique, requested copies of the Kinaray-a New Testament from the Translators Association of the Philippines for a province-wide moral recovery programme. Each police squad meditates on God's Word before their daily tasks, with two pastors leading Bible studies. The pastors also conduct morning devotions three times a week in the office before work. Pray that the policemen and pastors will continue to find wisdom and grace from the Word. Ask the Lord for encouragement and perseverance for the translation team as they continue work on the Old Testament and assist in the transformational Scripture promotion programmes of the Kinaray-a communities.

앤티크 주 경찰서장 산 호세는 주 전체의 도덕성 회복 프로그램을 위해 필리핀 번역가협회에 키나라야 신약성경책을 요청했습니다. 각 경찰 지구대는 업무 시작전에 두 명의 목사가 성경 공부를 인도하고, 일주일에 세 번 사무실에서 업무 시작하기 전에 아침 견건회를 인도합니다. 경찰들과 목회자들이 말씀을 통한 하나님의 지혜와 은혜 구하기를 계속할 수 있도록, 번역팀이 구약 성경 번역 작업을 계속하며 키나라야 공동체의 변화를 위한 성경 홍보 프로그램을 잘 도울 수 있도록 하나님께서 격려와 인내를 허락해 주시도록 기도해 주세요.

A national Bible translation organization in Tanzania needs a boat and motor to conduct literacy and Scripture use classes and distribute Bibles and recorded materials to the Kisi people. Pray for funding so that JAARS can provide these resources. 

탄자니아의 한 성경 번역 단체는 문해 사역 및 성경 활용반들을 섬기는데 키시 부족에게 번역된 모어 성경과 녹음된 자료를 배포하기 위해 배와 선박용 엔진이 필요합니다. 잘스가 이러한 자원들을 제공할 수 있는 재정 모금을 위해 기도해 주세요. 

Our aviation orientees and their families are now almost two months into Pre-Field Orientation. Ask the Lord to grant good health and stamina during their training. 

항공 훈련생들과 그 가족들이 현지 적응 오리엔테이션 과정을 시작한 지 두 달이 다 되어 갑니다. 훈련 마치는 동안 건강과 체력으로 잘 감당하도록 기도해 주세요. 

Our Missions at the Airport team will provide helicopter rides at the Norwood, NC, Arbor Day Festival tomorrow (April 28). Pray for many encouraging contacts.
