Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, PNG / on return assignment

In May, the Parks completed the translation check and revision of Revelation 1-11 online with Jack, Simon, and Linette, who had traveled to Alotau from the village. They actually worked through the entire Gospel of Matthew and parts of the book of Revelation at various times while the Parks were on home assignment in Canada since last July. We praise the Lord especially for the reading of the Gospel of Matthew in the village church during Passion Week and Easter this past April. It had not yet been checked by translation consultants, but the Lord knew that the Kaninuwa community had a hunger for the Word. As the Parks wrap up their home assignment in Canada in mid-July and return to PNG, please pray for a smooth transition for the remaining tasks that need to be done. Pray also that the "hunger" for the Word that God has given to the Kaninuwa community will be rekindled in all of us. 

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 카니누와 성경 번역, 파푸아뉴기니 / 본국 사역

박 선교사 부부는 지난 5월 요한계시록 1-11장의 초역 점검과 수정 작업을 마을에서 알로타우로 나온 잭, 사이몬, 그리고 미리 알로타우로 나와 있던 리넷과 함께 온라인으로 마쳤습니다. 실제로는 작년 7월 캐나다로 안식년차 나온 이후, 여러 차례에 걸쳐서, 마태복음 전부와 요한계시록의 일부를 본국 사역과 병행하여 수행한 것입니다. 특별히 지난 4월 고난 주간과 부활절 기간에 마을 교회에서 자문 위원 점검이 끝나지도 않은 마태복음 말씀을 읽었다는 것은 카니누와 공동체가 말씀에 대한 갈급함이 있음을 주께서 아신듯하여 더욱 주님을 찬송합니다. 박 선교사 부부가 7월 중순에 캐나다에서의 본국 사역을 마무리하고 현지로 귀임할 예정인데, 남은 기간 해야 할 일들을 순조롭게 마무리 하도록, 카니누와 공동체에 주신 말씀에 대한 “갈급함”이 우리 모두에게도 다시 살아나도록 함께 기도해 주세요. 

Kingdom Friendship 

Cree initiative: Naskapi / Kawawachikamach, Northern Quebec

This June in the Naskapi community, Bill will be teaching a Naskapi reading and writing course again, in a McGill University program, for a cohort of Naskapi young people. Besides spending the mornings teaching Naskapi young adults how to read, Bill is also looking forward to working “in person” with Silas, Ruby and Marianne on Naskapi Bible translation and language projects during the afternoons. The team will continue with the checking sessions on the Naskapi translation of the Old Testament book of Judges, working with Bible translation consultants, Meg Billingsley and Alice Reed, who will be connecting via “Zoom.” Please pray for the Naskapi reading and writing class, as these young people discover that they can be competent and successful readers, and may become potential translators of Naskapi. Pray for translator Silas and coordinator Marianne, and the consultants Meg and Alice, as they continue their work on the checking of the Naskapi book of Judges. Pray also for an ongoing hunger for the Word of God in the Naskapi language, and for clear direction for the way forward as the Naskapi community works towards their goal of the Bible in their own language. 

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 까와와치까맠, 퀘벡 북부

이번 6월 나스카피 공동체에서 빌 선교사는 나스카피 젊은이들을 대상으로 한 맥길대학교 프로그램으로 나스카피 읽기 및 쓰기 과정을 다시 가르칩니다. 오전에 나스카피 읽기및 쓰기 강좌 후에는, 사일러스, 루비, 마리안과 함께 나스카피 성경번역 및 언어 프로젝트팀과 함께 오랫만에 대면으로 작업할 예정입니다. 구약 사사기 나스카피 초역에 대한 점검 세션을 계속할 것이며, 성경 자문위원인 맥과 알리스 선교사들과는 줌으로 연결하여 작업합니다. 맥길 강좌에 등록한 젊은이들이 유능하고 성공적인 모어 독자가 될 수 있다는 것을 발견하고 나아가서는 나스카피의 잠재적인 번역가가 될 수 있도록 나스카피 강좌를 위해 기도해 주세요. 번역가 사일러스와 코디네이터 마리안, 그리고 컨설턴트로 섬기는 멕과 앨리스 선교사, 모두 사사기 점검 작업을 잘 이어갈 수 있도록, 또한 나스카피어로 된 하나님의 말씀에 대한 지속적인 갈망과 나스카피 공동체가 자기네 말로 성경을 번역하는 궁극적 목표를 향해 나아갈 수 있는 분명한 방향성도 주시도록 기도해 주세요.

IT services: South Asia
Thank God for the provision of several laptops, printers, and other IT equipment and supplies for project teams in an Alliance organization in South Asia. Praise God for his guidance in providing IT solutions for “speech to text” to speed up the translation process in various Bible translation programs in the country. Pray for God’s wisdom and help to come up with strategies like this to assist Bible translation teams serving on behalf of those who do not yet have access to God’s Word in this region.

남아시아의 한 국제연대 단체의 프로젝트 팀을 위해 여러 대의 노트북과 프린터, 기타 IT 장비와 물품들을 공급해 주신 하나님께 감사드립니다. 이 지역내 다양한 성경 번역 프로그램들 가운데서 번역 과정을 가속화하기 위한 “음성 텍스트 변환" IT 솔루션을 허락하신 하나님의 인도하심을 인하여 찬양합니다. 이 지역에서 아직도 하나님의 말씀을 접해 보지 못한 이들을 위해 사역하고 있는 성경 번역 팀들을 돕기 위한 이러한 전략들을 세울 수 있도록 하나님의 지혜와 도우심을 있도록 기도해 주세요. 

A channel of blessing: France 
Wycliffe France takes seriously its role as a channel of blessing. The Wycliffe France team was overjoyed that a large gift was made available to an SIL project in Togo after seven years of struggling to meet French legal requirements for the use of the gift. Praise God that he made a way so that the Akebou people of Togo could organize literacy classes, particularly for women, and assist with efforts to educate people in how to feed their children well. Generosity does not always come without a cost, and we praise God that the tenacity and perseverance of the involved partners paid off. They are thrilled that the filming of videos to teach the Akebou community in their first language is well underway. 

축복의 통로: 프랑스

위클리프 프랑스는 축복의 통로로서의 사명을 진지하게 수행하고 있습니다. 위클리프 프랑스는 기부금 사용에 대한 프랑스 정부의 법적 요건들을 준수하기 위해 7 년 여를 고군분투한 후 이제 토고의 SIL 프로젝트에 큰 기부금을 사용할 수 있게 되어 기쁨에 넘쳐 하나님께 감사를  드립니다. 토고의 아케부 부족들, 특히 여성을 위한 문해 강좌을 만들어 자녀들을 잘 키우도록 교육하는 노력을 도울 수 있게 하신 하나님께 찬양을 돌립니다. 관대함은 결코 대가없이 오는 것이 아니며 이 프로젝트를 위해 함께 한 동역자들의 끈기와 인내가 결실을 맺은 것에 대해 하나님을 찬양합니다. 아케부 공동체에 자기네 모어를 가르치기 위한 비디오 촬영이 순조롭게 진행되고 있다는 소식에 감격하고 있습니다.

This week, we are commissioning the four Fellows of Cohort* Foxtrot. Please pray for them as they transition out of the fellowship and into new jobs. A JAARS Fellows cohort is a group of young people serving on our campus. Each cohort is named according to the American phonetic alphabet. 

이번 주에는 코호트* 폭스트롯의 네 명의 펠로우를 세상으로 파송합니다. 펠로우십을 마치고 새로운 직장으로 전환하는 청년 평신도 사역자들을 위해 기도해 주세요. *잘스 펠로우 코호트는 청년 단기 인턴 프로그램이며, 각 코호트는 영어 알파벳에 따라 이름이 정해집니다. 

Five African translation centers require renewed power systems to keep consulting and training programs going. Pray for the resources to make this possible. 

다섯 개의 아프리카 권역 성경번역 센터는 컨설팅과 훈련 프로그램을 계속 진행하기 위해 노후된 전력 시스템들을 개선해야 합니다. 이를 가능하게 할 재정 모금을 위해 기도해주세요. 

Praise God for the safety he has given us. “God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go” (Ps. 91:11). 

하나님께서 우리에게 허락하신 안전을 인하여 찬양합니다. "그가 너를 위하여 그의 천사들을 명령하사 네 모든 길에서 너를 지키게 하심이라" (시편 91:11).
