L & C: Bible translation in a sensitive area of Asia / remote assignment

L thankfully passed the target language initial assessment and is waiting for the next level assessment. L takes target language learning sessions with a local translator, and needs to pass a few assessment tests throughout the target language learning process. Praise God for the good news of more souls turning to the Lord as some of the Z language group hear the translated word in the process of the village check. In July, L & C will be going to Thailand for a conference where the SIL members working for C country will meet face-to-face for the first time in five years. Please pray for this gathering, for L & C's progress, and for fruits in their ongoing ministries of language learning and exegesis with the team. Pray also for the health and peace of L & C's aging parents. 

L and C 선교사: 성경번역, 아시아 보안지역 / 원격 사역

L 선교사는 감사하게도 대상 언어 1차 평가를 잘 통과하고 다시 중간 점검을 앞두고 있습니다. 현지인과의 언어 수업과정을 하면서 몇 번의 언어 평가 테스트를 통과하면 대략적인 언어 학습을 마무리하게 됩니다. 현재 주해 사역으로 돕고 있는 언어에서 번역된 말씀을 점검하는 과정에서 더 많은 사람들이 말씀을 듣고 주께 돌아오고 있다는 소식에 하나님께 감사 찬송 올려드립니다. 오는 7월에는 태국에서 5년만에 대면으로 만나는 보안지역 사역자들을 위한 컨퍼런스에 참가하는 일을 위해서도 기도해 주시고, 계속해서 대상 언어 습득의 진전과 효과적인 팀 사역과 열매를 위해, 그리고 연로하신 양가의 부모님들의 건강과 평안을 위해 함께 기도해 주세요. 

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, PNG / on return assignment

Praise, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, strength: these are words used repeatedly throughout the book of Revelation. They are short words in English that are often absent in Kaninuwa language. So often we have to unpack and translate what that word means, and Revelation 7:12 is one of those verses. It's more than three times longer than Korean. Please pray that the people of Kaninuwa will continue to hunger for God's Word in Kaninuwa and that they will not give up until the day when the entire Bible is translated. The Kaninuwa translation team in the village is translating 1 & 2 Timothy. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help them to work together and study the Word in depth. The Park's house in the village is dilapidated and they are building a new one. The main building materials - logs, bamboo, and coconut leaves - need to be gathered from the forest, with the help of the villagers. Pray that the materials will be in sufficient supply and that the house will be built safely and well. 

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 카니누와 성경 번역, 파푸아뉴기니 / 본국 사역

찬송, 영광, 지혜, 감사, 존귀, 능력, 힘: 요한계시록 여러 곳에서 반복해서 사용된 단어들입니다. 한국어로는 짧게 표현되는 단어인데 카니누와 말에는 없는 경우가 많습니다. 그래서 그 단어가 무엇을 의미하는지 풀어서 번역해야 하는 경우가 종종 있는데, 요한계시록 7장 12절이 바로 그런 구절중 하나입니다. 한국어보다 3배가 넘게 길어 집니다. 계속해서 카니누와말로 번역된 하나님의 말씀을 갈망하며 성경 전체의 번역이 끝나는 그 날까지 카니누와 사람들이 포기하지 않도록 기도해 주세요. 마을에 있는 현지인 번역팀이 디모데전후서를 번역하고 있는데, 서로 협력하여 말씀을 깊이 공부할 수 있도록 성령께서 도우시도록 기도해 주세요. 마을에 있는 박 선교사 부부의 집이 낡아서 새로 짓고 있습니다. 주 건축 자재인 통나무, 대나무와 코코넛 잎 들을 숲에서 구해와야 하는데, 마을 사람들의 도움으로 건축 자재들이 충분히 공급되고 안전하게 잘 지어질 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

 The Journey experience: Philippines 
The Journey is a mission simulation activity that takes you from your comfort zone into a foreign land where no one speaks your language, no one does things the way you do and no one thinks the way you think. Pray for the Translators Association of the Philippines as they train a team of staff members who have responded to the invitation of Makati Gospel Church to facilitate The Journey in June. Pray for the ongoing preparations and the unity of the team. May the Lord of the harvest speak to the participants regarding their respective roles either as a goer, a sender, an intercessor, or a welcomer, as he invites them to participate in his mission. 

일일선교여행 체험하기: 필리핀

“일일선교여행” 은 현재의 편안한 삶에서 벗어나 아무도 당신의 언어를 사용하는 이가 없고, 당신이 생각하고 일하는 방식대로 사는 사람들이 없는 낯선 땅으로 떠나는 모의 선교 체험 프로그램입니다. 필리핀 번역가 협회가 마카티 복음교회의 요청으로 6월에 있을 '일일선교여행' 훈련 프로그램을 준비하는 사역팀을 훈련하는 협회를 위해서 기도해 주시고, 모든 준비 과정과 팀의 연합을 위해서 함께 기도해 주세요. 추수의 주님께서 그분이 주신 사명에 참여하도록 이들을 초청하실때 가는 자, 보내는 자, 중보자, 환영자로서의 모든 참가자들에게 각자의 역할에 대해 친히 말씀해 주시기를 기도해 주세요. 

Engaging children with missions: Poland
One way in which Wycliffe Poland encourages churches to learn about and support missions is through a magazine for children, to which both families and Sunday school teachers subscribe. It presents biographies of missionaries, includes news from mission fields and a variety of interesting facts and activities, as well as encourages children to pray for missions around the world. This year it also has a special section devoted to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of JAARS. The readers received a map and throughout the year they can collect stickers with different means of transport. At the end they will have a chance to win a prize. Pray for the magazine's impact among children and ask God to use it as a helpful reminder about prayer and support for missions. 

선교에 동참하는 아이들: 폴란드

위클리프 폴란드가 교회들이 선교에 대해 배우고 후원하기를 독려하는 한 가지 방법은 가정과 주일학교 교사들이 구독하는 어린이 잡지를 통해 시도합니다. 이 잡지는 선교사들을 소개하고 선교지 소식들과 선교에 대한 다양한 흥미로운 사실들과 활동을 소개하며 어린이들이 전 세계 선교를 위해 함께 기도하기를 독려합니다. 올해는 잘스 창립 75주년을 기념하는 특집 섹션이 들어가 있습니다. 어린이 독자들은 지도를 받고 일년 내내 다양한 ​​교통 수단이 그려진 스티커들을 수집해서 연말에 상을 받을 기회를 갖게 됩니다. 이 잡지가 어린이들에게 영향력을 끼치고 하나님께서 이를 통해 선교를 위한 기도와 후원의 필요를 전하는 데 사용되기를 함께 기도해 주세요.

Pray for funding needed to send a JAARS team to Tanzania to conduct training for safety operation and maintenance of the vehicles, motorcycles, and boats that JAARS provided. 

탄자니아에 훈련팀을 파견하여 잘스에서 제공한 차량, 오토바이, 보트들의 안전 운행 및 유지 보수 훈련을 실시하는 데 필요한 재정을 위해 기도해 주세요. 

Tomorrow (June 15), our Missions at the Airport team represents JAARS at the Shelby-Cleveland County Airport. Pray for safety and effective engagement with those visiting the event.
