크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 나스카피 프로젝트
나스카피 공동체를 방문하는 장거리 여행을 위해 기도해 주셔서, 또한 새로운 나스카피 성경을 받은 친구들을 위해 중보해 주셔서 감사합니다. 빌 선교사는 나스카피어를 사용하는 모든 수준의 독자들에게 성경 이야기를 나스카피어로 번역된 내용과 연결시켜 이해할 수 있도록 가르쳤습니다. 나스카피어로 인쇄된 첫 번째 책 중 하나는 복음서에서 발췌한 예수 그리스도의 생애를 그린 삽화 책이었습니다. 나스카피어로 읽기를 배우는 어른들은 이 책을 사용하고 있었습니다. 노르마 진 선교사와 딸 엘리자베스는 나스카피 언어 교사들과 번역가들과 함께 추가 자료 제작 계획을 수립했으며, 이 자료들은 앞으로 몇 달 내에 제작될 예정이고, 엘리자베스가 제작한 그림책에 매우 만족했으며, 이 그림책들은 집이나 교실, 공동체 활동 등에서 다양한 방식의 문해 사역으로 활용될 계획입니다. 나스카피 번역 팀인 실라스, 수잔, 마리안, 루비, 알마, 빌, 그리고 번역 자문 위원들이 매주 줌을 통해 번역 및 언어 프로젝트를 진행하고 있는데 계속해서 기도해 주세요..
밴쿠버 지역 원주민들 위한 성경번역 웍샵 (5/12-16)
위클리프 캐나다, 캐나다성서공회, 캔아이엘 등이 협력하여 밴쿠버/캐나다 서부지역에 있는 원주민 언어들의 성경번역을 위한 웍샵이 열립니다. 작년 11월 구엘프지역에서 열린 웍샵에 처음 참가했던 콰악왈라 언어 그룹도 밴쿠버아일랜드와 밴쿠버 내륙 북쪽에 있는 지역 대표들이 참여하고, 젊은이들도 연계되어 동참하고, 언어와 번역사역에 은사와 재능을 부여받은 분들이 함께 동참하게 되도록, 또한 창의적인 성경번역 사역을 위한 방안들이 도출되도록 기도해 주세요.
Naskapi Project
Thank you for your prayers during our trip back to the Naskapi community and for our friends who received some new Naskapi scriptures. Bill taught Naskapi speakers at any reading level to engage with the stories from the Bible that have been translated into Naskapi. One of the first books ever printed in the Naskapi language was the illustrated stories of the life of Christ taken from the Gospels. The Naskapi adults learning to read were using this book. Norma Jean and her daughter, Elizabeth, worked with the Naskapi teachers and translators on plans for additional materials, which will be produced in the coming months. Everyone was very pleased with Elizabeth's drawings for this project, and there are plans to use them in many different ways in homes, classrooms, and community activities. Please continue praying for the Naskapi translation team, Silas, Susan, Marianne, Ruby, Alma, Bill, and the consultants as we work weekly on Naskapi translation and language projects over Zoom.
Pray for the First Nations Bible translation workshop May 12-16 on Vancouver Island
- Praise God for the gifted people who plan to be involved in the workshop.
- Pray for good planning and communication - that God's designs for this workshop would take shape.
- Pray for the physical and spiritual protection of all involved leading up to and during the workshop.
- Pray for attendance from representatives further up Vancouver Island. This would give representation in two important areas of the Kwak’wala language.
- Pray for good cooperation between those involved—Wycliffe Canada, Canadian Bible Society, and the Canada Institutes of Linguistics—good partnership and ability to respond well as the workshop moves along.
- Pray for the following of the Spirit's leading as the group tries some new ideas. This will be more organic and less linear than a normal workshop.
- Pray for a good number of youth to be involved and engage well.
