THE 10/10 GLOBAL PRAYER INITIATIVE

10 years: January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2027.

Fast and pray for 10% of the Muslim world to be saved.

That means 200,000 Canadian Muslims become followers of Jesus.

3 years left. Do you have the faith for it? Let’s go!

FRIDAY, February 28: The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”  (Luke 17:5 ESV)

When Jesus required something very humanly difficult of His disciples, they asked Him to increase their faith. He answered that all it would take is faith like a mustard seed – tiny but pregnant with potential. Then He elaborated, saying that such is the normal duty of a servant for his master.

Celebrate God’s power to perform His word (Lk 1:38).

Command your eyes to see the harvest by faith (Jn 4:35).

Enter His gates with thanksgiving! Thank God…

…For the privilege of participating in His great work of salvation of the Muslim world

…For how He is answering and will answer the prayers He asked us to pray

…In advance for the grace to continue praying throughout the 30 days and beyond

Enter His courts with praise. Make His praises glorious!

WEEK ONE: PRAY FOR THE WORK OF THE CHURCH

SATURDAY, March 1: But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him. (2 Corinthians 3:18 TLB)

Are our faces unveiled? Do we reflect God’s likeness like a mirror would? Spirit, work in us more and more so that when Muslims see us, they detect Jesus and bask in the Father’s love.

SUNDAY, March 2: We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this. (2 Corinthians 4:2 NLT)

Spirit, reveal to us any ways in which we’ve tried to trick or push or guilt anyone into the Kingdom of God. We repent! May we pursue Your ways. Help us meet each person where they are (as You met the Samaritan woman), listen to them (You were always asking questions) and to Your Spirit, and respectfully answer all their doubts and questions (1 Pe 3:15).

MONDAY, March 3: [L]et us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured… (Hebrews 12:1-2a NIV)

Jesus, as a young boy, You humbly sat with the teachers, asked questions, and learned from them. As a man, you sat with the Father enough to say You and He were one. You looked on the crowds and ministered in power and with compassion to all who came. We want to be like You so that our joy will be complete (Jn 16:23-24).

TUESDAY, March 4: …I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible…I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.  I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. (1 Corinthians 9:19, 23 NIV)

Jesus, You’ve sent people from so many cultures to become our neighbors in Canada. Stir up curiosity in us to learn about their cultures, worldviews, customs, fears, joys, and the deposits You’ve placed in them to reveal Your greatness and glory. Spirit, sharpen our alertness to preach the Gospel in season and out of season, according to Your leading, so that we hit the mark.

WEDNESDAY, March 5: God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing His message about peace. We speak for Christ and sincerely ask you to make peace with God. (2 Corinthians 5:19-20 CEV)

Lord, we have received Your peace. Show us how to carry that peace to Muslims. Provoke Your church to generously provide staff, funds, talent and networks to the most effective outreaches, especially to groups that are isolated, vulnerable and oppressed.

THURSDAY, March 6: “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth!  Go to the people of all nations and make them My disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:18-20 CEV)

HUA! Heard. Understood. Acknowledged. We have our orders. As we go, with You at our side, help us be consciously, constantly making disciples, even before we hear a confession of faith. Bring sincere disciples into our lives and help us be faithful to them as You are faithful to us.

FRIDAY, March 7: Again [Jesus] said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so I am sending you.” Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:21-22 NLT)

The Father sent His Son because He loved the world. Increase our love! Let love conquer apathy, unease and fear. Let our ears hear the Muslim cry for the Father’s acceptance, the Savior’s power, and the Spirit’s intimacy, and our mouths respond, “What we have, we give to you!” (Ac 3:6).

WEEK TWO: PRAY FOR THE WORK OF THE SPIRIT

SATURDAY, March 8: “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.” (Luke 11:21-22 NIV)

Lord, You alone are stronger than the strong man guarding the captives in the House of Islam. Show us the armor in which he is trusting so we can pray effectively. (Take some moments to listen to the Spirit.) In Jesus’ name, we take away the armor of lies about Jesus, intimidation, the threat of death for apostasy, fear of Allah’s wrath…. In Jesus’ name, we open prison doors….

SUNDAY, March 9: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 ESV) “Sir, we would like to meet Jesus.” (John 12:21b CEV)

Islam teaches Muslims to achieve success in this life and the hereafter by following the “right path”, the way of Muhammad. Spirit, Your assignment is to bring glory to Jesus (Jn 16:14). Introduce my Muslim neighbors to Jesus through dreams and visions and media sources and through me and other believers. Encourage them to take first steps on the way of Jesus. Be the voice behind them saying, “This is the way, walk in it” (Isa 30:21).

MONDAY, March 10: …we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called…Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 1:23-25 ESV)

Muslims call Allah the merciful one in hopes he will show them mercy. Spirit, reveal Jesus to them as the Mercy of God who took their deserved punishment on Himself. Reveal the cross as a work not of weakness, but of divine power and wisdom.

TUESDAY, March 11: “And when [the Holy Spirit] comes, He will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.” (John 16:8 NLT)

Islam does not treat sin as an issue for Muslims, but most are very aware they don’t measure up and are anxious about their destiny. Spirit, wipe away the false Qur’anic depiction of Isa and reveal Jesus of the Bible as their propitiation (satisfying God’s wrath).

WEDNESDAY, March 12: For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17 NLT)

Spirit, dispel the cloud of lies and intimidation that keeps Muslims in denial about their own doubts concerning Islam and the Qur’an. Breathe Your freedom over them. Move them to read the Bible and learn from Christians. Strengthen seekers against intimidation from other Muslims.

THURSDAY, March 13: For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT)

God the Father revealed His face to the world through His Anointed Son. In Jesus’ name, we, who have seen Your glory, push back the darkness cloaking Muslims and ask You, Spirit, to shine the light of Christ in their hearts. We declare that the darkness HAS NOT overcome the Light (Jn1:5)!

FRIDAY, March 14: Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:11-13 NIV)

Oh, Spirit of Grace, give us confidence to do these works our Lord Jesus has said we will do in His name! He didn’t say we would PRAY for miracles, He said we would DO them. May our spirits be attentive when You are telling us to speak healing and deliverance and salvation for Muslims. We say NO! to intimidation and fear of ridicule, and YES! to obedience in our walk with You.

WEEK THREE: PRAY FOR THE WORK OF OUR GOVERNMENT AND SOCIETY

SATURDAY, March 15: I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIV)

Thank You God for peace and prosperity in Canada and for the almost unlimited opportunities to meet for worship, speak publicly of Jesus and obtain Christian resources. We pray for elected officials and public servants at every level to be wise, astute and committed to maintaining those conditions of freedom under which Canadian Muslims can hear the Gospel and be saved.

SUNDAY, March 16: May He have dominion from sea to sea… (Psalm 72:8a ESV)

Thank You God for the prophetic vision founding father Sir S.E. Tilley had for Your dominion over Canada. Thank You for the rule of law founded on Judeo-Christian values which are based on the common good. Raise up champions to protect our legal system so that everyone, regardless of culture or religion, is treated justly. In Jesus’ name we deny sharia (Islamic law) a place in Canada.

MONDAY, March 17: From one person God made all nations who live on earth, and He decided when and where every nation would be. God has done all this, so that we will look for Him and reach out and find Him. He isn't far from any of us… (Acts 17:26-27 CEV)

Thank You God for establishing Canada as a refuge for many vulnerable people. We pray for our government to be diligent and effective in helping genuine refugees settle and contribute, while refusing entry to those whose purpose is to undermine and threaten our peace and security. Bring us the Muslims whose hearts are to look for You, reach out for You, and find You.

TUESDAY, March 18: I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted and will execute justice for the needy. (Psalm 140:12 ESV)

Father, many Muslim women living in Canada are subject to sharia imposed by their husbands and communities. We pray for the ones held captive in their homes, even sharing their husbands with other wives, that others would notice their need and respond appropriately, that they would learn about their rights and freedoms, that they would have access to the services that benefit other Canadian women. We pray Christians would model godly marriages for them and their husbands.

WEDNESDAY, March 19: “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord… (Isaiah 1:18a ESV)

Canada has a Special Representative for Combatting “Islamophobia”, a term weaponized by Islamists to silence critique of Islam. Father God, You invite us to reason with You, to talk things through. We pray our governments would champion free speech, including critique of religion, while protecting citizens of all religions. Glory to God, critique strengthens the case for Christ!

THURSDAY, March 20: …whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. (Romans 13:2 NIV)

In the past year, an internationally designated Islamist terror group burned our flag and called for death to Canada, Israel and USA on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Another such group attempted (and failed) to hold a conference in Mississauga advocating a global caliphate. Thank You God for the public outcry. In Jesus’ name, we rebuke intimidation and political correctness and pray for respectful public outcry that moves the authorities to protect our citizens and freedoms.

FRIDAY, March 21: Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. (Luke 2:52 NLT) And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them. (Mark 10:16 NIV)

We pray Canada will be a place where Muslim children will have freedom to hear the Gospel, attend Christian outreaches, have Christian friends, be touched by the Savior, grow in the knowledge and favor of God, and be a blessing in the nation.

WEEK FOUR: PRAY FOR THE WORK OF MUSLIM SEEKERS AND NEW BELIEVERS

SATURDAY, March 22: …whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (2 Corinthians 3:16 NIV) Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12 NIV)

Moses “turned aside” when he saw a bush burning but not consumed. Seeing him turn, the Lord called out to him, and immediately Moses was on holy ground in God’s presence (Ex 3:3-6). Spirit, cause Muslims to turn aside when they notice signs of the Lord of Life and enter into that holy place of revelation of the Son of God. We pray for many Muslims to turn aside in this way and become prophetic voices calling their people from darkness to light, death to life.

SUNDAY, March 23: “…seek first His kingdom and His righteousness…” (Matthew 6:33 NIV)

Father, may Your grace help Muslim seekers and converts unfamiliar with the Christian walk and overwhelmed by the demands of becoming established in Canada and the pull of local mosque communities to conform to old ways. Provoke them to seek Your Kingdom first, and provide support, including help from Christian communities and materials in heart languages.

MONDAY, March 24: One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray…” (Luke 11:1 NIV)

We pray new believers trained in Islamic prayer will eagerly pursue relationship with Jesus through the joys of Christian prayer. We pray those discipling them will prioritize developing a rich prayer life to sustain them and give them access to Your wisdom and guidance from Your Spirit.

TUESDAY, March 25: “The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.” (John 6:63b NIV)

Bread of Life, we pray Muslim seekers and new believers will respond to Your invitation to feed on Your powerful written word, not just the “red letters”, but the Bible in its entirety. We pray those who need assurance will investigate the good reasons for confidence in its reliability and purity. We pray they’ll conclude, like Peter, that “You have the words of eternal life” (Jn 6:68).

WEDNESDAY, March 26: [Jesus] led them up a high mountain by themselves. There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light…a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” (Matthew 17:1-2, 5 NIV)

Tonight, Muslims observe their “Night of Power”, seeking revelation from Allah and multiplied value for their prayers. Our prayers are heard by God ANY time because we believe in the power of Jesus’ blood (Heb 10:19-23). YHWH, we come to Your throne confidently and ask You to reveal Your Son, the glorified Christ, to seeking Muslims tonight and instruct them to “Listen to Him!”

THURSDAY, March 27: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:7-8 NIV)

Spirit, we pray that as You reveal practices and bondages from Islam that keep seekers and new believers from experiencing Your fullness, they will eagerly receive prayer, renounce old ways and experience ever more fully their freedom in Christ and Your love that releases them from fear.

FRIDAY, March 28: Follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance…We are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction…We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. (Hebrews 6:12, 10:39 NLT; James 1:3 ESV)

May faith and courage arise in Muslim seekers and new believers! May they grow stronger as they pass through every test of faith! May Your work in them establish steadfastness and produce testimonies that reveal the glory of the Name that is above every other name (Php 2:9-11)!

SATURDAY, MARCH 29: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.” (Luke 15:4-6, ESV)

Eid ul-Fitr, the festival at the close of Ramadan, involves ritual prayers, sweets and visiting. Eid Mubarak (Blessed Eid) is the common greeting. Jesus, we rejoice with You over even one who has been found. “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb” (Rev 19:9).

But You’ve given us faith not for one but for 200,000 Canadian Muslims choosing to follow You during this 10-year prayer focus. We rejoice over the ways in which You have answered, are answering and will answer our prayers. You are worthy! “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” (Rev 5:13b)

Thank you for praying!!!

We invite you to keep praying throughout the year for Muslims in Canada.

Jesus exhorts us to love our neighbour as ourselves. Perhaps the most loving thing we can do is pray. 650 mosques are scattered throughout our Canadian neighbourhoods. Our vision is that each one would have at least one group of Christ-followers, perhaps your church, praying regularly for their community.

Gather a group from your church to pray for those who gather at the mosque nearest you. If you need help identifying the mosque nearest to you, we can help. Email us at info@lmtn.ca.
