Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea
The biennial conference of the Papua New Guinea (PNG) branch, which had been postponed due to the pandemic once, was held at Ukarumpa Center last March. Joseph was one of the Bible translators who reported on their translation projects. All the attendees were very thankful that, despite the difficulties, the Bible (books, audio, and videos) of various PNG languages were celebrated and dedicated. Once again, they all thanked God for His work of "all-surpassing power." Joseph & Joyce are also very thankful to see the Kaninuwa Bible Translation Committee well established and fully functioning. We would appreciate your prayer for Keilo, one of the committee members who serves as treasurer. She is recovering from eye treatment and so has to wear sunglasses until there is complete healing. Please pray for her quick recovery.

파푸아뉴기니(PNG) 현지 본부의 정기총회가 펜데믹으로 연기되었다가 지난 3월에 우카룸파에서 모였습니다. 여러 선교사들과 함께 박 선교사도 카나누와 사역의 진척을 보고했고, 모든 참가자들이 어려움 가운데서도 PNG 여러 민족의 성경(책, 오디오, 비디오)들이 풍성하게 봉헌되어 다시 한번 하나님의 “심히 큰 능력”으로 이룬 역사에 감사하며 주께 영광을 돌렸습니다. 카니누와 번역팀을 지원하는 번역위원회가 잘 세워져서 운영되고 있음에 감사 드립니다. 최근에 번역위원회에서 회계로 섬기는 케일로가 눈 치료를 받고 얼마 동안 색안경을 쓰고 지내야 한다고 합니다. 속히 완쾌 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
The following prayer requests are prayers for the soil tilling efforts in this sensitive area. By serving the community in sustainable literacy and education development, the team is loving the community in very practical ways which pave the way for sustainable Bible translation work, which we believe the Lord will use to transform lives for His glory.
The Q project: Pray for hope and healing for R’s son who continues to struggle with depression. Praise God for renewed progress on the translation work as we near the completion of the New Testament. Pray that God would make a way for the team to meet together with the consultant this summer in person, despite Covid restrictions. Pray that God would prepare the hearts of the people who will read and hear this translation in the language of their heart.

실크로드의 기도 요청들은 보안 지역의 척박한 땅을 일구는 사역들을 중보하는 기도입니다. 사역팀이 지속 가능한 문해 사역과 교육 개발을 섬기며 매우 실질적인 방법으로 공동체를 사랑하는데, 이로서 사람들의 삶이 변화되고 주께 영광 돌리게 되리라 믿습니다.
Q 프로젝트: 우울증에 시달리는 현지인 사역자 R 아들의 치유를 위해 기도해 주세요. 신약성경의 완역이 임박함에 따라 번역 작업이 새롭게 진척된 것을 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다. 코로나로 인한 제한에도 불구하고 올 여름에는 사역팀이 직접 자문위원과 대면으로 만날 수 있도록 하나님께서 가능한 길을 열어주시길 기도해 주세요. 자기 말로 번역된 말씀을 읽고 들을 Q 사람들의 마음을 하나님께서 미리 준비시켜 주시도록 기도해 주세요.

Training to be linguistics consultants: Papua New Guinea
Three young Papua New Guineans have completed their first six months of linguistics training in Ukarumpa, called LingCrop (Linguistics Consultant Resourcing of PNG). This three-year mentored program trains Papua New Guineans to become linguistics consultants with SIL-PNG or the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association (BTA). The students spent ten days in early December in BTA’s Usarufa language project area, recording and transcribing words, analysing tone, language learning, and raising awareness in the community about language vitality and shift. Pray for potential students in the application process for the second intake of three new LingCrop trainees. Praise God for donors to this programme. Pray for wisdom in selecting the right applicants for this exciting initiative. If all goes well, the new trainees should move to Ukarumpa in April.
언어 자문위원 훈련: 파푸아뉴기니
파푸아뉴기니 원주민 젊은이 세 명이 우까룸빠에서 링크롭이라고 불리는 언어 자문위원 훈련 프로그램 중 첫 6 개월간의 언어학 훈련을 마쳤습니다. 이들은 3년간의 멘토링 프로그램을 통하여 SIL-PNG나 파푸아뉴기니 성경번역협회 (BTA) 의 언어 자문위원이 되도록 훈련합니다. 학생들은 지난 12월 BTA의 우사루파 언어 프로젝트 지역에서 10일간 체류하며 단어의 녹음과 번역, 어조 분석과 언어 학습, 공동체에서의 언어 활성화에 대한 인식을 높이는 활동을 했습니다. 2기에 등록한 3명의 후보생들의 순조로운 입학 절차를 위해, 이 프로그램을 위해 재정으로 헌신해 주는 분들로 인해 하나님을 찬양하며 이 귀한 훈련의 기회에 꼭 필요한 지원자들을 잘 선발할 수 있는 지혜 주시기를 기도해 주세요. 모든 과정이 잘 진행되면 2기 후보생들은 4월중에 우카룸파 캠퍼스로 옵니다.
Master in Applied Linguistics, Translation and Literacy: Spain
PROEL (Wycliffe Spain) and the University of Leon (Spain) offer a Master of Applied Linguistics, Translation, and Literacy. The current students completed their sixth course and expect to finish the programme in July 2022. Pray for them as they practice what they learned during the course and consider future service. Pray for the professors of this programme as they travel to and from Spain for modular intensive courses between now and the completion of the programme in July. Pray for safety and travel and God's protection from COVID-19.

Praise God for the videos recently completed by VM Productions, an SIL team based at JAARS: Bangolan LUKE (Cameroon) and ut-Ma’in ACTS (Nigeria). Pray for creative and effective distribution of these videos, asking God to use them to change lives for his glory.
