빌 / 노마 진 선교사 크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 사역 업데이트
Ministry Updates: Bill & Norma Jean with Cree Initiative
여러분의 기도 응답으로 지난 달 카와와치까맠의 나스카피 공동체 방문 사역이 은혜롭게 이뤄졌음에 감사드립니다! 안전하게 잘 도착하여, 두 주 간 나스카피 공동체와 함께 아주 생산적인 시간을 보낼 수 있었습니다.
빌 선교사는 열정적인 나스카피 성인 8 명으로 구성된 문해교실 반을 가르쳤으며, 이들은 나스카피어 읽기와 쓰기 학습을 한 주 더 마쳤는데, 마태복음 5 장에 나오는 산상수훈에서 발췌한 내용이 이번 읽기 연습의 교재로 사용되었습니다. 노마 진 선교사는 개학 첫 주 동안 나스카피어 교사들, 그리고 어린이집 사역자들과 함께 섬겼고, 딸 엘리자베스가 준비해 온 새로운 나스카피어 학습 자료들을 활용하도록 도왔습니다.
빌 선교사는 9월 8일부터 13일까지 카와와치까맠을 다시 방문하여 새로 만든 나스카피 사전을 출시하고 (아래 사진) 기념하며 배포하는 특별 행사에 참석할 예정입니다. 빌과 노마 진 선교사 부부의 바쁜 9 월 사역 일정 중 하나님의 은혜와 돌보심을 위해 기도해 주세요.

캐나다 원주민 성경 번역 사역자들을 위한 웍샵이 9 월 21 일부터 26 일까지 앨버타주 캘거리에서 열립니다. 지난 10 년간 온타리오주 구엘프에서 원주민 성경 번역팀의 역량 강화와 훈련을 위해 웍샵을 개최해 왔는데, 올해는 캐나다 북서부 지역 원주민 공동체들이 자체 번역 프로젝트를 막 시작하는 점을 고려하여 웍샵 장소를 캘거리 지역으로 옮겼습니다. 아래는 이번 웍샵 참가자들의 명단입니다.

Cree initiative: ministry update
We rejoice that your prayers were answered regarding our trip last month to the Naskapi community of Kawawachikamach. We traveled safely and on time, and had a very productive couple of weeks there with our Naskapi friends. Thank you!
Bill taught a class of eight eager Naskapi adults who completed another week of learning to read and write Naskapi. The Scripture passages used for practice reading this time were from the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew chapter 5.
Norma Jean worked with the Naskapi language teachers and daycare workers during their first week of school, helping them get started with the new Naskapi language resources that she and our daughter Elizabeth have been preparing.
Bill will return to Kawawachikamach for a special event to launch, celebrate, and distribute the new Naskapi Lexicons in the community from September 8 to 13.
Please pray for Bill and Norma Jean, and ask God for His mercy and care during their travels over the next few weeks.
The First Nations Translator Workshop will take place from September 21 to 26 in Calgary, Alberta. For the past 10 years, we have held these workshops in Guelph, Ontario, to build capacity and support mother-tongue Bible translation teams. This year, we have moved the workshop west to accommodate the First Nations language groups in that region, who are just beginning their own translation projects.
