In May, the community held a book launch to celebrate recent publications of translated materials. The translation team distributed copies of John’s Epistles and the Prayer Book. Matt Windsor, project facilitator, says, “Many people came to take copies, eat, and chat with the translators. Bishop Lydia read the children’s book Where’s Baby?, and it was a delight to hear everyone’s laughter. Simple resources like this help encourage literacy in the community, since there are not many books in the language and new readers need practice to build up to reading the Bible.” Praise God, the Wycliffe Field Partner Liaison, Dan Grove, is traveling to help equip local church leaders. Pray for the local Bible Translation Committee in Kingfisher Lake, who will be making some critical decisions about which scripture projects to prioritize in the coming months.
