(26.10) 북부 태국어(라나) 문해 및 성경 활용 프로젝트: 동남아시아
 치앙마이의 세인트 앤드류 교회라는 따뜻한 공동체 안에서, 라나 키즈 클럽 소속 어린이 다섯 명은 희망의 등불이 되어 주고 있습니다. 이들은 오이(라나 프로젝트 책임자)사역자의 인도 아래 예수님을 마음속에 영접하고 매 주일마다 성실히 교회에 출석하며 영적 여정을 시작했습니다. 오이는 아이들이 빠짐없이 교회에 나올 수 있도록 항상 신경 써 주었습니다. 아이들의 일상은 오이가 병에 걸리기 전까지 순조로웠습니다. 오이가 없는 상황 속에서 아이들이 교회에 빠질 수밖에 없을 것 같았습니다. 그러나 믿음과 헌신이 작은 기적을 일으켰습니다. 아이들 중 한 어린이의 아버지가 나서서 오이가 참석할 수 없을 때마다 아이들을 교회로 데려다주겠다고 자원한 것입니다.
 이 아이들의 꾸준한 출석보다 더 놀라운 것은 그들이 겪은 아름다운 변화입니다. 아이들이 정기적으로 교회에 다니기 시작한 이후, 부모님과 주변 사람들은 그들에게서 깊은 변화를 목격했습니다. 아이들은 더 친근한 아이들로 성장했고, 뛰어난 대인관계 능력을 키웠으며, 부모님과 어른들의 지도를 소중히 여기고 존중하며 경청하는 법을 배웠고, 자신의 생각을 훨씬 더 기꺼이 표현하게 되었습니다. 이것은… 협력과 한마음의 이야기입니다… 돌보는 이들의 헌신과 부모의 지원이 아이들을 육체적으로뿐만 아니라 마음과 영혼까지 아름답게 성장시킬 수 있음을 보여주는 좋은 사례입니다. 기회를 제공하고 올바른 가치를 심어주는 것은 아이들의 삶에 진정으로 의미 있고 지속적인 변화를 가져올 수 있습니다.
• 라나 사역에 인턴으로 합류할 분들을 위해 기도해 주셔서 감사합니다. 대학을 갓 졸업한 사랑스러운 젊은 여성 마나가 8월 3일에 팀에 합류해 잘 적응하고 있는 것을 하나님께 찬양합니다. 특히 2027년 5월에 쿡과 타르의 인턴십이 종료됨에 따라, 또 다른 인턴이 지원할 수 있도록 계속 기도해 주세요.
• 인턴들이 계속해서 읽기와 쓰기 연습을 하고 있는 것을 하나님께 찬양합니다. 그들이 가르치면서 역량이 성장하고 있음을 하나님께 찬양합니다. 빔, 쿡, 타르가 매주 배정된 커리큘럼을 훌륭하게 가르치고 있음을 하나님께 찬양합니다.
• 10월 중순에 열리는 라나 교재 개발 워크숍을 위해 기도해 주세요. 이 행사는 교사와 관심 있는 분들 모두에게 열려 있습니다.
• 목회자, 지도자, 교회 성도들 사이에서 북부 태국어 성경과 언어를 홍보하기 위한 동영상 클립 제작을 시작하는 팀을 위해 기도해 주세요.
Northern Thai (Lanna) Literacy and Scripture Use: Southeast Asia
Within the warm community of St. Andrew's Church in Chiang Mai, five children from the Lanna Kids Club serve as beacons of hope. They began their spiritual journey by welcoming Jesus into their hearts and faithfully attending church every Sunday, guided by Oi (Lanna project manager), who ensured they were always there.
Their routine went smoothly until Oi fell ill. Given the situation, it seemed inevitable that the children might miss church. However, faith and dedication sparked a small miracle: one of the children's fathers stepped forward to volunteer to take them to church whenever Oi was unavailable.
Even more remarkable than their consistent attendance is the beautiful transformation these children have undergone. Their parents and others around them have witnessed a profound change since the children began attending church regularly. They have grown into more approachable children, developed strong interpersonal skills, learned to value, respect, and listen to their parents' and elders' guidance, and become… much more willing to express themselves.
This… is a story of collaboration and a shared heart… highlighting how caregivers' dedication and parents' support can nurture children to grow beautifully—not only in body but also in mind and spirit. Providing opportunities and cultivating good values can truly create meaningful, lasting change in a child's life.
• Thank you for praying for those who will join the Lanna ministry as interns. Praise God that Mana, a lovely young woman just out of university, joined the team on August 3 and is fitting in well. Please continue to pray for another intern to apply, especially as Kook and Tar finish their internships in May 2027.
• Praise God that the interns continue to practice reading and writing. Praise God that their capacity is growing as they teach. Praise God that Beam, Kook, and Tar can teach their assigned parts of the curriculum and do so well each week.
• Pray for the Lanna Material Development workshop in mid-October. This opportunity is open to teachers and interested individuals.
• Pray for the team as they begin preparing video clips to promote the Northern Thai Bible and language among pastors, leaders, and church members.
