지난 주 캘거리에서 열린 원주민 성경번역 사역자들을 위한 웍샵이 은혜 중에 잘 마치고, 캘거리와 에드몬턴지역에서 목회자들과 선교사들이 함께 방문하여 비전을 나누고, 협력을 논의하게 해주심에 감사드립니다. 특히 블랙풋의 식시카와 피카니 지역에는 전임 원주민 선교사와 여러 한인교회들이 밴드를 방문하여 사역하고 있는데, 성경번역 사역과 함께 교회와 공동체가 변혁되는 일에 좋은 동역이 이뤄지도록 기도해 주세요.
또한 주말에 여러 목회자들과 만나 교제하며, 관계를 쌓아가게 하심에 감사드립니다. 열매맺는 동역으로 이어지게 기도해주세요. 9/28(주일)에는 이 선교사 부부가 SIL 북아메리카 리더십 팀과 함께 포도나무가지 교회 (The Vine Church, 담임 제임스 조 목사)를 방문해 함께 예배드리며, 오후에는 동역해주시는 캘거리영락교회에서 이 선교사가 말씀을 전합니다. 이미 보내심 받은 자리에서 하나님 나라의 길을 나누는 전도와 선교의 삶에 더 열심을 내는 성도들이 되도록 메시지에 성령께서 기름부어주시길 기도해 주세요.

Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee: Director, Diaspora Engagement, Canada
Last week's workshop for First Nations Bible translators held in Calgary concluded successfully in God's grace. We are grateful that Korean pastors and missionaries from the Calgary and Edmonton areas visited together to share vision and discuss collaboration. Please pray especially for the Blackfoot people, the Siksika, and the Picani regions, where a full-time Korean missionary and several Korean churches are visiting and ministering to their communities. May a good partnership be formed in the work of Bible translation alongside the transformation of churches and communities.
We are also thankful that the Lees met with several pastors over the weekend to fellowship and build relationships. Please pray that this will lead to a fruitful partnership. On Sunday, September 28th, the Lees will visit The Vine Church (Lead pastor: Rev. James Cho) with the SIL America North Leadership team, to worship there together. Gyoojun will also preach at Calgary Youngnak Church, a partner of ours. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will anoint the message, enabling our lives to become more zealous for sharing the way of God’s Kingdom through evangelism and cross-cultural ministries in our current life situations, where we are already sent.

일루미네이션스는 여러 단체가 연합하여 2033년까지 모든 언어에 적어도 한 권 혹은 중요한 성경 내용이 번역되게 하자는 운동입니다. 세계 번역의 날인 9/30일을 기점으로 한 주간 동안 세계 성경번역 선교 운동을 위해, 말씀에 기초하여 기도하는 시간을 갖습니다. 영어로는 성경 앱 YouVersion을 통해 오디오로도 성경말씀과 묵상본문 읽기가 가능합니다. (우측 링크 클릭)
(일루미네이션스는 빛을 비춤이라는 영어단어에 민족 Nations이란 단어를 합쳐 축약시킨 말로, 모든 민족에게 그들의 말로 말씀의 빛이 비추이게 하자는 뜻입니다.)

Week of Prayer for Bible Translation
illumiNations is a coalition of Bible translation mission related organizations working to ensure that at least one Bible or significant Bible portion is translated into every language by 2033. Starting on World Translation Day, September 30th, they dedicate a week to prayer for the global Bible translation movement, grounded in God's Word. You can listen to Bible passages and devotional readings through the YouVersion Bible app.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아주세요)
북부 와미* 프로젝트
봉제 센터 중 한 곳에서 이 프로그램에 참여한 여성들은 한 번도 마음에서부터 기도해 본 적이 없었습니다. 그들 중 다수는 기도를 의식으로만 여기는 배경을 가지고 있거나 하나님과 개인적으로 대화해 본 적이 없는 사람들이었습니다. 가장 큰 변화는 이 여성들이 이제 예수님의 이름으로 기도한다는 점입니다. 한 여성은 이렇게 말했습니다. “예전에는 이렇게 기도할 수 있다는 걸 몰랐어요. 지금은 기도할 때 평안을 느끼고, 예수님이 나와 함께 하신다는 걸 제가 압니다.” 이 여성들은 문해교실을 통하여 공용어로 문장을 읽고 쓸 수 있으며, 오염된 물로 인한 흔한 수인성 질병들에 대해서도 배웠습니다. 이 여성들이 다양한 프로그램을 통해 예수님과 하나님의 말씀을 더 잘 배울 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. *보안명

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
Northern Warmi* Project
At one of the Northern Warmi* sewing centres, the women who participated in the program had never before prayed from their hearts. The most notable change is that these women now pray in Jesus' name. One woman shared, “Before, I did not know that I could pray like this. Now, I feel peace when I pray, and I know Jesus is with me.” These women can read and write sentences in the national language and have learned about common diseases caused by contaminated water. Please pray that Northern Warmi women will have the opportunity to learn more about Jesus and the Word of God through various programs.

조직 성장을 위한 리더십 역량 강화: 아프리카
위클리프 국제 연대 아프리카는 작년 9월부터 2년간의 조직 강화 운동을 주도하고 있습니다. 이 운동은 학습의 공유, 상호 격려와 공동의 문제 해결을 통해 지도자들을 훈련하고 조직의 발전을 촉진하는 데 중점을 두고 있습니다. 선교학적인 관점에서 리더십 역량 강화에 중점을 두고 리더들이 자신의 역할을 되돌아보고 조직의 미래에 대한 명확한 비전을 개발하도록 장려하는 데 초점을 맞춘 이 프로그램을 인하여 감사드립니다. 이 협력적 접근 방식을 통해 중앙아프리카, 케메룬, 콩고민주공화국, 차드, 가나, 토고, 위클리프 아프리카, 남아공, 나이제리아, 기니비사우, 적도기니, 카메룬, 수단과 같은 여러 위클리프 단체의 리더들이 유익을 얻도록 기도해 주세요. 풍성한 결과와 장기적인 변화를 위한 강하고 실제적인 토대가 마련되도록 기도해 주세요. 리더들이 각자의 상황에서 전략을 잘 실행하고, 그로 인하여 단체들이 더욱 강화되도록 기도해 주세요.

Strengthening leadership capacity for organizational growth: Africa
Wycliffe Global Alliance Africa is leading a two-year organizational strengthening initiative that started in September 2024. It focuses on equipping leaders through shared learning, mutual encouragement, and joint problem-solving to drive organizational development. Thank God for this programme, which focuses on enhancing leadership capacity from a missiological perspective and encourages leaders to reflect on their roles and develop a clear vision for their organizations' futures. Pray for the leaders of these Alliance organizations that benefit from this collaborative approach: ACATBA, ANTBA, ACOTBA SUBO, ATALTRAB, GILLBT, Wycliffe Togo, Wycliffe Africa, Wycliffe South Africa, NBTT, ITA, ACTB, CABTAL, and ECSTD. Pray for fruitful results and that a practical and strong foundation for long-term transformation would be laid. Pray that leaders will be able to implement strategies well in their contexts and that, as a result, participating organizations will be strengthened.

성경 번역과 성경 활용을 위한 과테말라 원탁회의 동역자들은 8월 21일부터 10월 30일까지 매주 목요일 한 기독교 방송의 '희망의 좋은 소식' 프로그램에서 생방송 주간 인터뷰 시리즈에 출연하고 있습니다. '왜 아직 모든 사람이 성경을 가지고 있지 않을까' '처음으로 자기 모어로 하나님을 만난 순간' '성경 번역 비용은 얼마나 될까' '성경 번역은 누가 어떻게 팀을 구성하는가' '성경 번역에 참여하는 여성들', '구전 번역', '성경 번역의 영향' 등 다양한 주제를 다룹니다. 기독교 미디어를 통해 과테말라에서 번역의 비전을 공유할 수 있는 좋은 기회를 주신 하나님께 감사드리며, 더 많은 사람들이 성경 번역에 참여하도록 영감을 받고, 더 많은 교단이나 단체가 과테말라 번역 원탁회의에 협력할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Conversations about Bible translation on Christian television: Guatemala
Members of the Guatemala Roundtable (Mesa) for Bible Translation and Use of the Scriptures are participating in a series of live, weekly interviews every Thursday on Buenas Nuevas de Esperanza (Good News of Hope) on Christian TV, from August 21 to October 30. They are presenting on topics such as: ‘Why doesn't everyone have a Bible yet?’ ‘The first time they heard God in their language.’ ‘How much does it cost to translate the Bible?’ ‘Who translates the Bible and how is a team formed?’ ‘Women in Bible translation’, ‘Oral translation’ and ‘The impact of Bible translation’. Thank God for this opportunity to share the vision of translation in Guatemala via Christian media. Pray that more people will be inspired to participate in Bible translation and that more denominations or organizations might become partners in the Guatemala translation roundtable (Mesa).

Sea Operations
In parts of Africa, South America, and the Pacific, boats are often the best—or sometimes the only—means of reaching remote areas. However, the journey can be harrowing: boarding rundown ships that frequently lack safety equipment and navigating rough waters far from any hope of help if something goes wrong. JAARS provides coastal communities with specialized vessels, including outfitting, delivery, and repair, along with logistical and financial support for boat programs, safety equipment, signalling devices, emergency satellite beacons, and water safety training. Please pray that JAARS’s sea operation team may serve as the best support teamwork.
