한국성경번역선교회를 위한 8기 영어 튜터링 프로그램
지난 8월 26일부터 시작했던 한국성경번역선교회(GBT/위클리프 한국) 사역자들의 영어 능력 향상을 위한 10주간의 튜터링 프로그램 8기가 하나님의 은혜로 10월 29일에 수료하였습니다. 한국 참가자들의 영어 능력이 향상되고 있음과 캐나다 교사들 역시 한국 문화와 GBT 멤버들의 사역에 대해 배우게 되었음에 감사드립니다. 무엇보다 선후배 선교사들 사이에 서로 삶을 나누고 바쁜 사역 일정과 삶의 도전 가운데서도 각자 속한 자신의 문화와 사역 대상의 문화 속에서 역사하시는 하나님의 은혜를 나눌 수 있었음에 감사드립니다.
두 단체 간에 지속적인 협력과 프로그램의 발전을 위해 수고하는 양국 코디네이터 팀 (폴 마이즈너, 김뵈뵈, 이규준, 윤기태 선교사)을 위해 기도해 주세요.

The Eighth Season of the English tutoring program for GBT
By God's grace, the seventh season of the tutoring program to improve the English language skills of GBT (Global Bible Translators, aka, Wycliffe Korea) workers, which began on Aug 26 and was completed on Oct 29. We are thankful that the participants' English skills have improved and that the Canadian tutors have gained a deeper understanding of Korean culture and the ministries of these workers. We are grateful that the senior and junior missionaries have shared their lives, seeing God's grace at work in their own culture and the culture of those they serve, even amid the challenges of ministry and life.
Pray for the ongoing collaboration between the two Wycliffe organizations for the development of the program, and for the hard-working team of bilateral coordinators (Paul Meisner, Phoebe Kim, Gyoojun Lee, & Daniel Yoon).

이규준/한진숙 선교사: 디아스포라 협력, 캐나다
10/25일 중국인 복음주의 교단 (ACEM) 선교대회에서 위클리프 부스를 설치하고, '성경번역 선교를 위한 커피 시음 행사'를 통해 페루와 태국지역의 사역에 대해 집중적으로 나누었습니다. 많은 분들이 기도와 헌금으로 동역하게 됨을 감사드리며, 후속조처가 잘 이뤄지도록 기도해주세요.
이 선교사 부부는10월 28-29일에 잘스를 방문하며 잘스와의 기도 동역 강화, 열린문교회 일일 방문 팀 섬김과 미국 한인교회 동원사역을 위한 지원 등을 잘 섬겼음에 감사드립니다. 더욱 새로운 협력으로 성경번역 현장과 교회가 기도를 통해 긴밀하게 연결되고 동역하는 계기가 되도록 기도해 주세요.
10/31일에는 이글스필드교회 선교 비전의 밤 기도회에서 말씀과 사역을 나누며 함께 기도했습니다. 또한 내년 40 주년 기념 성경 필사 운동 등에 대해서도 함께 협력할 방안을 논의하게 해주심도 감사드립니다. 더욱 활발한 동역을 통해 하나님나라 선교에 함께 헌신하는 교회와 선교단체가 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Gyoojun Lee & Jinsook Han: Diaspora Engagement, Canada
On October 25th, we set up a Wycliffe booth at the mission conference of Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministries and shared extensively about our ministries in Peru and Thailand through an event called 'Ground for Translation', coffee tasting event with the dripped coffee from these areas. We are grateful that many have committed to partner with us through prayer and financial support. Please pray that follow-up actions proceed smoothly.
We are grateful that Gyoojun and Jinsook went to JAARS on October 28-29. They strengthened our prayer partnership with JAARS, served the Open Door Church day visit team, and had a fellowship with Rev. Sungji Peter Paik, newly begun mobilizer with Wycliffe US. Please pray that this new collaboration will become an opportunity for the Bible translation field and the church to be closely connected and work together through prayer.
On October 31st, Gyoojun and Jinsook shared a message at Eagles Field Church's Mission & Vision Night prayer meeting and held a fellowship session with a Q&A. We are also grateful for the opportunity to discuss ways to collaborate on initiatives, such as the Bible handwriting event for the church’s 40th Anniversary. Please pray that, through even more active partnership, we may become a church and mission organization dedicated to advancing God's kingdom mission together.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아주세요)
북부 와미* 프로젝트
최근 우기로 인하여 북부 와미 지역에 폭우가 쏟아져 진흙집에 사는 많은 가족들이 큰 피해를 입었습니다. 원스토리 프로그램을 통해 한 여성이 하나님을 알게 되었고, 기도로 자신의 두려움을 그분께 맡길 수 있음을 깨달았습니다. 그녀의 두려움은 믿음으로 바뀌었고, 폭풍 속에서도 하나님이 우리와 함께하신다는 확신으로 평안을 느꼈습니다.
폭우로 피해를 입은 이 지역 사람들을 보호해 주시길 기도해 주세요. 이 프로젝트는 그들에게 실용적인 재봉 기술을 제공했을 뿐만 아니라 여성들에게 역량 강화와 자립심을 고취시켰습니다. 아울러 여성 센터를 방문하여 재봉 기술과 기본적인 건강 및 위생에 관한 유용한 조언을 아끼지 않은 프로젝트 리더의 부인을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
Northern Warmi* Project
During the recent monsoon season, heavy rain fell in the Northern Warmi area, and many families with mud homes were deeply affected. Through the OneStory program, a woman learned about God and discovered that she can bring her fears to Him in prayer. Her fear has turned into faith, and even during the storm, she felt a sense of peace knowing that God is with her family.
Please pray for protection for those in the Silk Road Ascent region who are affected by the heavy rains. The project has not only provided them with practical skills but has also inspired a sense of empowerment and self-sufficiency among the women in the community. Praise God, the leader’s wife, who was very helpful in visiting the centers and providing practical advice on sewing, as well as basic health and hygiene.

성경 번역 가속화를 위한 인공지능 도구 활용: 전세계

성경 초벌 번역을 위해 개발된 인공지능 도구를 인해 하나님께 찬양을 드립니다. 컴퓨터 기반 성경 번역 도구는 오랫동안 사용되어 왔지만, 인공지능의 급속한 발전으로 초벌 번역 속도가 크게 단축되었습니다. 이러한 도구중 일부는 국제연대 동역단체인 국제에스아이엘과 XRI 글로벌 간의 협력으로 개발되고 있습니다. 달라스에 본사를 둔 이 회사는 특히 소외된 언어 공동체를 위해 AI 기반 언어 기술을 개발하고 있으며 이 협력은 Every Tribe Every Nation이 후원하고 있습니다. AI 도구로 작성된 초벌 번역본은 사람이 번역한 것과 동일한 수정 및 점검 과정을 거치며 경우에 따라 밀접하게 관련된 언어로 된 기존 번역본을 바탕으로 초안을 작성하거나, 완성된 신약 성경을 기반으로 같은 언어로 된 구약 성경 초안을 작성할 수도 있습니다. 효과적인 번역 초벌 번역 도구를 개발하는 이들을 인하여 하나님께 찬양을 드립니다. 이러한 도구들을 개발하는 팀들이 계속해서 하나님의 도움을 받으며, 번역 팀들의 작업이 크게 지원받도록 기도해 주세요. 성경에 더 빠르게 접근할 수 있게 됨으로써 변화될 생명들을 인하여 하나님께 찬양을 드립니다.

AI tools being used to accelerate Bible translation: Global

Praise God for artificial intelligence (AI) tools that have been developed for drafting Scripture translations. Computer-based tools for Bible translation have been used for a long time, but with rapid advances in AI, drafting speed has decreased significantly. Some of these tools are being developed in a partnership between Alliance partner SIL Global and XRI Global. This Dallas-based company develops AI-powered language technology especially for underserved language communities. The partnership is sponsored by Every Tribe Every Nation. Drafts created with AI tools go through the same revision and Scripture checking process as human-created drafts. Sometimes, a first draft can be produced from an existing translation in a closely related language, or a completed New Testament can serve as the basis for producing a first draft of the Old Testament in the same language. Praise God for those producing effective translation drafting tools. Pray that he will continue to help the teams developing these tools, and that translation teams will be greatly helped in their work. Praise God for lives that will be transformed as a result of having quicker access to Scripture.

훈련을 위한 동역: 달라스, 브라질, 인도네시아, 우간다, 우크라이나
달라스 국제대학교 리더들은 브라질 복음주의 선교언어학 협회간의 동역을 위한 새로운 문을 열어 주신 하나님께 감사를 드립니다. 학교는 최근 지역 및 글로벌 사회에 긍정적인 변화를 가져올 수 있는 섬김의 지도자를 양성하는 인도네시아의 기독교 대학인 자카르타 국제대학교와 양해각서를 체결했습니다. 이 새로운 공식 협력 관계는 공동 학술 프로그램, 교수 및 학생 교류, 연구 협력, 지역사회 봉사 기회 등을 위한 토대를 마련합니다. 달라스 국제 대학교 지도자들이 우간다, 브라질, 인도네시아의 글로벌 교육 센터와 우크라이나에서 계획중인 센터를 통해 유사한 협력관계를 지속적으로 발전시켜 나갈 수 있도록, 이러한 노력을 통해 현지 지도자들이 그들의 언어 공동체를 탁월하게 섬길 수 있도록 준비시키고, 각 협력 관계가 그리스도 안에서의 연합과 하나님 나라를 위한 지속적인 영향력이 반영되도록 기도해 주세요.

Training partnerships: Dallas, Brazil, Indonesia, Uganda, Ukraine
Dallas International University (DIU) leaders praise God for opening new doors for partnership between DIU and ALEM in Brazil, enabling shared efforts to provide training in Bible translation and related fields. More recently, DIU signed an MOU with Jakarta International University (JIU), a Christian university in Indonesia that seeks to educate servant leaders who can bring positive change to local and global communities. This new, formalized partnership lays the foundation for cooperative academic programs, faculty and student exchanges, research collaborations, and community service opportunities. Pray for DIU leaders as they continue to develop similar partnerships through their global instructional sites in Uganda, Brazil, Indonesia, and a planned launch in Ukraine. Pray that these efforts will equip local leaders to serve their language communities with excellence, and that each partnership will reflect unity in Christ and lasting impact for the kingdom.

아시아-태평양 지역 집중 / 플라이트 스팬
솔로몬 아일랜드, 바누아투와 같은 지역에 아직도 40 여 개 이상의 성경번역 사역이 필요하고, 잘스에서는 향후 3 년 간 이 태평양 지역에서의 육해공 운송 및 기타 지원 사역을 강화할 예정입니다. 현지와의 협력, 기도와 재정 조달 등이 원활하게 이뤄지고, 이를 통해 이 지역의 성경번역 선교 사역에 큰 진전이 있도록 기도해 주세요.
잘스에서는 비행 준비/실행/기록 전 과정을 돕는 Flight Span 프로그램을 개발하여 조종사들의 비행준비 시간을 획기적으로 줄여주는 한편 실제 비행에서도 많은 데이터를 동시에 제공하여 더욱 안전한 비행을 할 수 있도록 했고, 비행 후 기록 보전도 아주 손쉽게 만들었습니다. 이 프로그램을 통해 더욱 효과적인 비행이 이뤄지고 있음에 감사드리고, 잘스 뿐 아니라 다른 많은 비행 단체에서도 잘 활용되도록 기도해 주세요.

Focus on Asia-Pacific / Flight Span
Over 40 Bible translation projects are still needed in regions like Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Over the next three years, JAARS plans to strengthen its land, sea, and air transportation services and other support ministries in this Pacific region. Please pray that cooperation with local partners, prayer, and financial provision will proceed smoothly, leading to significant progress in Bible translation missions throughout this area.
JAARS has developed the Flight Span program to assist with the entire process of flight preparation, execution, and documentation. This program dramatically reduces pilots' flight preparation time while simultaneously providing extensive data during actual flights, enabling safer operations. It also makes post-flight record preservation remarkably easy. We are grateful that this program facilitates more effective flying. Please pray that it will be well utilized not only by JAARS but also by many other aviation organizations.
