박요섭/조선향 선교사: 성경번역, 파푸아뉴기니
박 선교사 부부가 모든 일정을 잘 마치고 지난 7월 말 파푸아뉴기니 임지로 안전하게 복귀했음에 감사드리고, 8월 중에 알로타우 센터에서 카니누와 번역팀과 함께 번역 및 수정 작업을 함께 하고 있음에 감사드립니다! 필로미나가 그녀의 남편 에릭의 보트 전복 사고로 참여하지 못했지만, 6시간이 넘는 표류에도 그와 동승한 승객들 모두 지나가던 선박에 무사히 구조되었음에 감사드립니다!!
우리 삶의 여정 가운데 예측할 수 없는 어려움들이 있지만 하나님께서 우리 안에서 시작하신 착한 일을 온전히 이루실 것을 믿으며 (빌립보서 1:6), 다음과 같이 기도해 주세요:
- 사이몬, 윌포드, 엘리자베스(필로미나 대신): 성령 안에서 함께 한 마음이 되어, 히브리서를 번역할 때 하나님이 공급하시는 힘과 지혜로 사역을 감당하도록
- 에노키(필노미나의 남편): 보트 전복 사고로 다친 부상이 잘 치료되고 회복되도록
- 잭, 레비: 가정에 생긴 문제들이 하나님의 은혜로 잘 해결되도록
- 피델리스: 정부 일을 맡게 되어 많이 바쁜 가운데, 번역위원회 서기로서의 사명을 잘 감당하도록

Joseph & Joyce Park: Bible translation, PNG
We are thankful that the Parks returned to Papua New Guinea at the end of July safely and started the translation and revision work of the Bible with the Kaninuwa Bible translation team at the Alotau Center on ongoing translation and revising work during August. They are very thankful that Enoch, Philomina's husband, was saved with the passengers after 6 hours of drifting because of his boat capsizing.
Although there are unpredictable difficulties along our life’s journey, we believe that God will carry it on to completion of the good work He has begun in us (Philippians 1:6). Please pray with the Parks as follows:
- Simon, Wilford, Elizabeth: Please pray that we may be of one heart in the Holy Spirit and carry out our ministry with the strength and wisdom God provides as we translate the Book of Hebrews
- Enoch (Philnomina’s husband): Please pray for his full recovery from the injuries he sustained in the boat capsizing accident
- Jack, Levi: Please pray that the problems in their family will be resolved through God’s grace
- Fidelis: Please pray that, despite being very busy with his government duties, he may faithfully fulfill his calling as secretary of the Translation Committee

바문카어 문해 교육 과정을 수료한 최초의 교사 중 한 명인 빅토린은 자신의 모든 자녀들에게 모국어를 읽고 쓰는 법을 가르쳤습니다. 금년 1월에 열린 바문카어 신약성경 봉헌식에서, 그녀의 어린 딸 루스는 에드워드 목사에게 성경 한 권을 달라고 조르자, 목사는 기꺼이 한 권을 사 주었습니다. 한 달 뒤, 바푸삼에서 열린 성경봉헌식에서 아이들은 신약성경 구절을 유창하게 읽었고, 이에 바문카 문화개발위원회 대표가 성경 90권을 구입해 아이들에게 선물했습니다. 기도해 주세요:
• 바말리어 누가복음 영화 더빙: 일정이 6월에서 7월 말로 변경되었습니다. 농사철로 바쁜 시기임에도 모든 참가자가 참석할 수 있도록, 또한 효과적인 계획 수립과 자연스러운 음성 녹음이 이루어지도록
• 교회 연합 위원회: 8월 집행부 선거를 앞두고, 성경 번역과 성경 활용을 촉진하며 강력한 교회 리더십을 위한 협력을 도모하도록, 특히 밤발랑, 방골란, 바말리 위원회를 비롯한 모든 위원회가 원활하게 운영될 수 있도록

Ndop Cluster: Africa
Victorine, one of the first trained Bamunka literacy teachers, taught all her children to read and write their mother tongue. During the Bamunka New Testament dedication on January 14, 2026, her young daughter, Ruth Anne, playfully demanded a copy from Pastor Edward, who happily bought one for her. A month later, at the Bafoussam dedication, children read scriptures from the New Testament fluently, prompting the president of the Bamunka Cultural Development Union to purchase 90 copies and gift them to the young readers.
• Bamali Luke Film Dubbing: Rescheduled from June to July 27. Please pray for full participant availability during this busy farming season, along with effective planning and a natural-sounding recording.
• Interchurch Committees (ICC): Pray for smooth operations across committees—especially Bambalang, Bangolan, and Bamali—ahead of their August executive elections to promote Bible translation, Scripture Use, and collaboration for strong church leadership.

성경 번역을 위한 라틴아메리카 교회들의 열정
지난 10여 년 동안 라틴아메리카 교회들의 선교와 성경 번역 사역에 대한 관심과 참여가 크게 증가했습니다. 이제 라틴아메리카의 주요 교회 지도자들은 성경 번역 훈련에 더욱 적극적으로 참여하고, 이 사역을 교회 안으로 확장해 나가기를 소망하고 있습니다. 이 제안은 그동안 라틴아메리카의 신학교들을 통해 성경 번역의 중요성과 필요성을 선교 교육에 포함시키는 데 힘써 온 사역의 범위를 더욱 확장하는 것입니다. 특히 교회 지도자들에게 성경 번역이 하나님의 선교 안에서 얼마나 중요한 역할을 하는지를 알리고, 그들의 마음을 일깨우는 귀한 통로가 될 것입니다. 이를 위해 위클리프 국제연대의 협업 담당 디렉터인 브라이언 선교사가 개발한 “하나님의 선교에서 언어와 번역” 과정이 핵심 도구로 사용되고 있습니다.
- 더 많은 사람들이 특정 선교단체의 요청이나 필요 때문이 아니라, 성경 번역이 하나님께서 중요하게 여기시는 사역임을 깨닫고 자발적으로 이 사역에 동참하게 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Inspire Latin American Churches for Bible Translation
For more than a decade, Latin American churches' involvement in missions and Bible translation has increased significantly. Key Latin American church leaders want to assume a significantly expanded role in Bible translation training. This proposal extends the reach of a previous project that helped integrate Bible translation rationale into seminaries throughout Latin America. It also provides an inspiring way to communicate to church leaders the importance of Bible translation in God's mission. The core instrument for this expansion has been the course developed by Alliance Director for Collaboration Bryan Harmelink, Language and Translation in the Mission of God (LTMG).
- Please pray that more people want to engage in Bible translation, not because of any other mission agency, but because they recognize it is important to God.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
Continue to pray for God's guidance as the selection of a potential supplier for the boat serving the Ticuna people nears completion. Pray that construction can begin within the next few weeks, enabling the gospel to spread more effectively throughout the tri-border region of Peru, Brazil, and Colombia.
Pray for wisdom and patience for our Purchasing and Shipping teams as they navigate numerous software-related challenges.
Thank God for church teams that have assisted JAARS with storm cleanup and the renovation of the apartments on our campus. These apartments provide housing for the many trainees who come to JAARS.
