Kairos course for Korean-Canadian Churches/GTA
The Kairos Course for Korean-Canadian churches in the Greater Toronto Area will be held every Thursday from September 17 to November 5 at Vaughan Community Church (Rev. Young-Min Koh, senior pastor). Please pray that a good number of people will join, that the facilitators will be thoroughly prepared and work well together, and that the course will bear fruit in the form of a missional life for all participants. 원주민 성경번역 운동을 위한 재정 협력
올 해 초에 토론토참소망교회(손명수 담임목사) 에서 작년 한 해 동안 RBBB 운동을 통해 모은 헌금을 현재 진행 중인 캐나다 원주민들을 위한 성경번역 운동을 위한 매칭 펀드 기금으로 드려주셨고, 이글스필드교회(장성훈 담임목사) 에서도 8월에 교회 40주년 기념 성경필사를 통한 헌금을 드려 협력해 주실 예정입니다. 또한 에드먼턴 안디옥 장로교회 (한흥렬 담임목사) 에서도 해마다 RBBB를 통해 원주민 성경 번역 사역에 재정과 기도로 협력해 주고 있습니다.
• 귀한 협력에 감사드리며, 8월 31일까지 계속되는 원주민 성경 번역 운동을 위한 헌금 매칭에 많은 개인과 교회, 단체들이 동참하도록 기도해 주시고

Matching donations for Indigenous Initiatives
Earlier this year, Toronto True Hope Church (Rev. Moses Son, senior pastor) donated the offerings collected over the past year through the RBBB movement as matching funds for the ongoing Bible translation initiative for Canada’s Indigenous peoples, and in August, Eaglesfield Community Church (Rev. Sung-Hoon Chang, senior pastor) is also planning to contribute by donating their collection of donations from a Bible hand-copying event held to commemorate the church’s 40th anniversary. In addition, the Edmonton Antioch Korean Presbyterian Church (Rev. Henry Han, senior pastor) has been supporting the Indigenous Bible translation ministry financially and through prayer every year through the RBBB.
- We are grateful for these and ask that many individuals, churches, and organizations participate in the donation-matching campaign for the Indigenous Bible translation initiative, which runs through August 31.
- Please pray that the Bible translation ministries currently supported by Wycliffe Canada—in Naskapi (Quebec), Anishinineimowin (Oji-Cree, Ontario), Blackfoot (Alberta), and Kwawwal (BC)—may continue to grow in strength and succeed.

제이드 스타: 동남아시아
캘거리 지역의 한 교회에서 테리와 켈리 목사를 포함한 한 그룹이 태국 방콕에 가서, 그동안 기도 편지로만 듣고 중보해 오던 ‘제이드 스타 수어 사역팀’을 만났습니다. 서로 공통된 언어가 없었음에도 현지 한 공원에서 함께 시간을 보내며 깊은 유대감을 형성했습니다. 캐나다 방문팀 일행은 특히 제이드 스타 팀이 속한 현지에서 벌어지고 있는 심각한 정치적 갈등과 지속적인 어려움에도 불구하고, 사역팀이 보여준 깊은 기쁨과 친절, 그리고 믿음에 깊은 감동을 받았습니다.
나무 그늘 아래서 팀원들은 함께 시편 13편을 낭송하며, 성경 구절에 새로운 시각적 깊이와 감동을 더했습니다. 이 경험은 방문객들에게는 깊은 영감을 주었고, 그들의 마음을 충만하게 채워 주었습니다. 캐나다로 귀국한 후, 테리는 대위임령을 실천하기 위해 헌신하고 있는 제이드 스타 팀원들을 만남으로 인하여 자신의 믿음이 더욱 굳건해졌으며, 단순히 하나님의 말씀을 아는 데 그치지 않고 실제로 실천해야 한다는 도전을 받았다고 회상했습니다. 기도해 주세요.

Jade Star: Southeast Asia
A Canadian church group, including Terri Taylor and Pastor Kelly Sikstrom, traveled from near Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand, to visit Wycliffe’s ministry. There, they met the Jade Star Sign Language team, whose story they had long followed in prayer newsletters. Despite not sharing a common language, both groups spent time together at a local park, forming a deep connection. The Canadians were moved by the Jade Star team's profound joy, kindness, and faith, especially given the severe political conflicts and ongoing hardships in the team's home country. Under the shade of a tree, the team recited Psalm 13 together, bringing new visual depth and emotion to the Scripture. The experience profoundly inspired the visitors, leaving their hearts full. Long after returning home, Terri reflected that witnessing the team’s dedication to living out the Great Commission strengthened her faith and challenged her to live out God’s Word rather than merely know it. Please pray:
- for the Jade Star team to carry out their tasks effectively and to complete the translation of several chapters from the Book of Daniel by September.
- that the team clearly understands how to translate the book of Esther and that the translation process is not delayed.
- that God would protect and encourage every team member.

위클리프 국제 연대의 아프리카 지역 모임에서는 전 세계적으로 문화적 맥락이 매우 다양하다는 점을 감안할 때, “구체적이고 다중 모드적인” 성경 번역이 시급히 필요하다는 점을 강조했습니다. 오늘날 효과적인 의사소통을 위해서는 구전 이야기, 삽화, 글, 디지털 미디어 등 다양한 의사소통 방식을 통합해야 합니다. 킴비 박사가 설명했듯이, 소통은 말에 국한되지 않고 색상, 이미지, 멀티미디어를 포함하므로 번역은 단순한 글로 된 책이 아니라 역동적이고 다중모드적인 경험이 됩니다. 이러한 디지털 전환은 인공지능의 활용 확대와 밀접하게 연관되어 있습니다. 인공지능은 번역 속도를 높이고, 효율성을 개선하며, 비용을 절감하고, 소수 언어를 지원하는 데 상당한 기회를 제공하지만, 이번 모임에서는 전략적인 주의가 필요함을 강조했습니다. 발표자 에티엔 사역자는 기술 발전이 지도자들과 그들의 단체에 새로운 책임을 부여한다고 언급했습니다. 그는 사역자 역량 강화가 가장 중요한 투자라고 강조하는 한편, 기술적 측면에서의 리더십은 사역의 효과성, 재무 관리, 사이버 보안, 인공지능 도입, 조직의 회복탄력성에 관한 전략적 결정에 참여해야 한다고 덧붙였습니다.

Bible translation’s future is diverse(2): Multimodal Bible Translation and Technology
The Wycliffe Global Alliance’s Africa Area gathering emphasized the urgent need for “embodied and multimodal” Bible translation, given the wide variation in cultural contexts worldwide. Effective communication now requires integrating multiple forms of communication, including oral storytelling, illustrations, written text, and digital media. As Dr. Kimbi explained, communication is not limited to words but also involves colors, images, and multimedia, making translation a dynamic, multimodal experience rather than a simple written text. This digital transformation is closely tied to the growing use of artificial intelligence. While AI offers significant opportunities to accelerate translation, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support minority languages, delegates stressed the need for strategic caution. Etienne Ondoa noted that technological progress creates new responsibilities for ministry leaders and their organizations. He emphasized that developing staff capacity is the most important investment, while technological leadership should be involved in strategic decisions regarding ministry effectiveness, financial management, cybersecurity, AI adoption, and organizational resilience.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
Pray for the Hardware Engineering team as they enter the build phase of the Cessna 206 instrument cart for the JAARS Training Aid (simulator). They need God's wisdom to integrate several complex design components.
One of our pilots and his family recently arrived in Cameroon to serve. Please pray for a smooth transition, successful language learning, and good health.
Pray for all our JAARS overseas staff: for their safety and balance in their priorities, and for them to always keep their relationship with God first as they serve others.
