Kairos course for Korean-Canadian Churches/GTA
The Kairos Course for Korean-Canadian churches in the Greater Toronto Area will be held every Thursday from September 17 to November 5 at Vaughan Community Church (Rev. Young-Min Koh, senior pastor). 인도네시아에 있는 성경번역이 필요한 많은 언어들에 대해 여러 단체와 교단에서 성경번역 참여 의사를 밝혔지만, 실제로 양질의 성경번역 사역을 진행할 준비가 되어 있지 않은 경우가 많습니다. 위클리프 국제 연맹의 인도네시아 단체인 깔띠다야에서는 이런 필요에 부응하기 위해 현지인 성경번역 사역자 육성 프로젝트를 시작했고, 위클리프 캐나다는 이에 기도와 헌금으로 동역하기로 했습니다. 헌금 후원에 감사드리며, 또한 교회와 여러 기도 동역자들이 동참하는 성경번역 운동이 되도록 함께 기도해 주세요.

Kartidaya Academy
Although various organizations and denominations have expressed a willingness to participate in Bible translation for the many languages in Indonesia that need the Bible translated, in many cases they are not actually prepared to carry out high-quality Bible translation work. To address this need, Kaltidaya—the Indonesian Wycliffe organization of Wycliffe Global Alliance—has launched a project to train local Bible translators, and Wycliffe Canada has committed to partnering with them through prayer and financial support. We are very thankful to God for providing us the donor for this project and ask that you join us in prayer so that this Bible translation movement may be supported by churches and many prayer partners from Canada.

킨샤* 성경 활용 프로젝트: 동남아시아의 보안 지역 (배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아 주세요)
지속적인 분쟁으로 인해 마을 사람들이 외부인을 경계하는 상황이었음에도, 언어 조사팀은 현지 신자들과 잘 연결되어 라파 방언 지역에서 복잡한 현장 언어 조사 과정을 성공적으로 마쳤음에 감사드립니다.
한편, 한 젊은 부부는 모국어로 된 성경이 그들의 결혼 생활을 어떻게 변화시켰는지에 대한 간증을 나누었습니다. 끊임없는 고성과 씁쓸한 침묵에 지쳐 있던 그들은, 교회 성경 읽기 시간에 야고보서 1장 19절을 읽으며 삶이 변화하는 것을 경험했습니다. “듣기는 속히 하고, 말하기는 더디 하며, 성내기도 더디 하라”는 가르침을 실천함으로써, 그들은 잠시 멈추고 서로를 이해하는 법을 배웠습니다. 훌라* 문해 프로젝트를 통해 하나님의 말씀은 이 젊은 부부의 가정에 화평과 인내, 그리고 지속적인 화합을 가져다주었습니다.
4개 언어로 진행 중인 성경 오디오 녹음, 현지 번역 기념 행사, 성경 암송 대회, 그리고 25명 이상의 팀 리더들을 위한 실용적인 오디오 및 이야기 전달 훈련 워크숍 등 역동적인 사역 소식을 전할 수 있게 하신 하나님께 찬양과 감사를 드립니다. 아래 기도 제목으로 중보해 주세요:

Kinsha* Scripture Engagement: a sensitive area of Southeast Asia (do not forward or post this online)
We are thankful that the language survey team successfully navigated complex fieldwork logistics in the Lapa dialect area by connecting with local believers, despite ongoing conflicts that made locals wary of outsiders.
Meanwhile, a young couple shared a testimony about how mother-tongue scripture transformed their marriage. Exhausted by constant shouting matches and bitter silence, they found their lives changed when they read James 1:19 during a church reading. By applying the teaching to be "quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry," they learned to pause and understand each other. God’s Word brought peace, patience, and lasting harmony to their home through the Hula* Literacy project.
Praise God for dynamic ministry updates, including ongoing Scripture audio recordings in four languages, local translation celebrations, Bible recitation contests, and practical audio and storytelling training workshops for more than 25 team leaders. Please pray for:
• the final approval of the new Hak* language group’s Literacy Manager
• that a new resource being developed will be a blessing to the Sulin* church
• peace and healing for staff facing family issues and sickness

다양한 성경 번역의 미래 (3): 세계 교회를 위한 교향곡
위클리프 국제 연대의 아프리카 지역 모임에서 참석한 지도자들은 번역 기관들이 고립된 상태에서 운영되는 것이 아니라는 점을 다시 한번 확인하였고, 세계 선교를 위한 하나님의 주요 수단인 교회를 섬기기 위해 존재한다는 점에 동의하였습니다. 킴비 박사는 이 성경 번역 운동의 미래를 웅장한 세계적 기획에 비유했습니다.
“현대 성경 번역의 특이점은 그것이 다양한 요소가 어우러진 앙상블, 즉 각 언어 공동체를 위해 ‘성경’이라는 제목의 웅장한 교향곡을 해석하는 다양한 영향력이 조화를 이루는 오케스트라라는 점입니다.” 그리고, “이 오케스트라에는 지역 교회, 구전 이야기 사역자, 미디어 제작가, 문해 사역 전문가, 기술 파트너 등 모든 이들의 참여가 필요합니다.”라고 강조했습니다.
• 다양한 성경 번역의 미래가 수많은 헌신자들과 동역 단체들의 협력으로 아름다운 오케스트라처럼 계속 연주될 수 있도록 함께 기도해 주세요.

Bible translation’s future is diverse (3): A Symphony for the Global Church
The Wycliffe Global Alliance’s Africa Area gathering. Ultimately, leaders at the event reaffirmed that translation organizations do not operate in a vacuum. They exist to serve the church, which remains God’s primary vehicle for global mission. Dr. Kimbi likened the movement’s future to a grand, global arrangement.
‘The particularity of modern Bible translation is that it is a diverse ensemble—an orchestra of varied influences interpreting a magnificent symphony titled ‘Scriptures’ for each language community,’ he said. ‘In this orchestra, we need everyone: local churches, oral communicators, media creators, literacy specialists, and technology partners.’
• Please join us in praying that, through the collaboration of countless dedicated workers and partner organizations, the future of diverse Bible translations will continue to sound like a beautiful orchestra.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
JAARS Day will be held on Saturday, October 24. Many volunteers are needed to make this event possible. Thank God for all the staff who have already signed up, and pray that the remaining open positions will be filled quickly.
In August, there were six Land and Sea Ops training programs in Waxhaw and overseas. Pray that the participants will retain what they learned and that the training will be helpful to them in their ministries.
Pray that God will provide the staff and volunteers needed to serve in several departments at JAARS.
