L and C 선교사: 성경 번역, 아시아 보안 지역
지난 7월 말, 현지인 언어 조력자가 L 선교사가 원격 사역중인 곳으로 방문하여 다른 팀 동료들과의 만남을 가졌습니다. 현지 교회의 상황과 소식을 전해 주었고 사역과 가정 사정도 나누며 기도하는 시간도 보냈습니다. 언어 조력자가 자기 민족을 향한 열정과 사랑을 들으며 다시 한 번 사역의 무거운 책무를 통감하는 시간이었습니다.
여러분의 기도의 응답으로, 느헤미야서의 두 번째 수정 작업을 잘 마쳤습니다. 더 까다로운 다음 단계, 역번역 작업에 곧 돌입하게 됩니다. 가장 많은 시간과 집중력이 필요한 과정입니다. 원문의 의미가 왜곡되거나 오해의 소지가 없는지 등을 찾아내어 바로잡아야 하는 중요한 단계입니다.

L and C: Bible translation in a sensitive area of Asia
In late July, a Z-language translator visited the area where L is serving remotely and met with other team members. The whole translation team shared updates on the field church and spent time praying as they discussed his tasks and even family situations. As L listened to the Z language helper’s passion and love for his people, L was once again deeply reminded of the weighty responsibility of ministry.
Thanks to your prayers, we have successfully completed the second revision for the Book of Nehemiah. We will soon begin the next, more challenging phase: back-translation. This process requires the most time and concentration. It is a crucial step in which we must identify and correct any instances where the original text's meaning has been distorted or could be misunderstood. Please pray:
- that another national translator in charge of the back-translation of the Book of Nehemiah will remain focused and make good progress.
- that L will develop a broader sense of and understanding of the language so that L can effectively carry out his translation ministry.

Albert & Martha (Isaac, Moses): Director of Wycliffe Taiwan & Language Program Manager for a sensitive area, respectively
Martha will be visiting Toronto this week to participate in a meeting of Language Program Managers in a sensitive area and to fellowship with her sending church and supporting partners. Please join us in prayer:
- for the safe travel and adjustment to the time difference of Martha, who is traveling on a busy schedule, as well as for the managers serving various other teams, and for effective meetings and discussions.
- that the Lord would anoint her meetings and fellowship with the sending church and various supporting partners, so that their fellowship may be even more abundant and bring glory to the Lord.

실크로드 프로젝트: 성경 번역, 보안 지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아주세요)
두스카니* 프로젝트
프로젝트 코디네이터는 교훈을 주는 두스카니어 이야기를 수집하고 집필한 한 남성을 만나 자료들을 취합하여 책으로 냈습니다. 두 사람은 또한 250편의 두스카니어 시를 수집해 공용어와 영어로 번역하고 있습니다. 또한 외지에 나가 있는 두스카니 출신 대학생들의 동아리 모임에 나가 이런 두스카니 자료들을 수집하고 창작하여 출판하는 일의 중요성을 나눴음에 감사드립니다. 기도해 주세요:
- 지난 5월의 심한 폭풍으로 피해를 입은 도로, 수로, 전력 시설이 안전하게 복구되고 신속한 지원이 이루어지도록
- 현지 작가가 이야기와 시를 수집하고 공용어와 영어로 번역하는 일을 통해, 두스카니 언어가 더욱 활발하게 사용되고 보전되도록
- 현지인 사역자들을 위한 국제 자금 전신 이체가 중단되지 않도록 하고, 프로젝트 등록 갱신이 원활하고 신속하게 이루어지도록

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
Duskani* Project:
We are thankful that the local project coordinator met with a man who has collected and written Duskani stories that teach lessons and was able to publish a Duskani story book. And the both men have also collected 250 Duskani stories and the coordinator is translating them into the national language and English. The project coordinator was also invited to the Duskani student fellowship of a university outside of their area and shared the importance of preservation of their own language carried out by their own learned people through collection of traditional literature works and create new ones. Please pray for:
- for safety and quick aid to repair roads, water channels, and power sources damaged by May's severe storms.
- for the further development of the Duskani language through their own writers and learned people by collecting traditional stories and peoms and creating new ones.
- for a smooth, swift project registration renewal to ensure uninterrupted international funding transfers for national workers.

위클리프 브라질: 9월 12일에 언어학 및 선교학 과정을 수료한 13명의 학생들로 인하여 하나님께 감사드립니다. 내년 1월 25일에 시작될 다음 기수에 더 많은 학생들이 등록할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 이런 과정을 통해 잘 헌신된 후보 선교사들이 선교 현장으로 파송될 수 있습니다.
‘플레임*’ 공동체가 있는 서아프리카에 부흥이 일어나도록 기도해 주세요. 또한 ‘플레임*’ 사람들이 자기네 모어로 된 성경 없이 죽어 가고 있음을 깊이 인식하며, 긴박감을 가지고 번역 사역을 계속해 나아가는 번역팀을 위해, 그리고 이 생명을 변화시키는 사역을 감당하고 있는 사역팀이 잘 보호받도록 기도해 주세요.

ALEM (Wycliffe Brazil): Let us thank God for the 13 students who completed the Linguistics and Missiology Course on September 12th. Let us pray that God will send more students to the next class, beginning on January 25th, so that well-prepared missionaries may be sent to the fields.
Pray for revival in West Africa, where the Flame* community is, and for the translation team as they press on with urgency, aware that Flame* people are dying without the Bible in their language. Pray for protection as they carry out this life-changing work.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
Please continue to pray for wisdom and success as we prepare to implement FlightSpan for MAF in Ecuador.
Thank God for the continued progress on the boat project for the Ticuna people. Pray for the final preparations and the review of the documents needed to begin construction of the boat that will serve the Ticuna community in the Amazon.
Pray for those who continue to raise support. Ask God to help them communicate effectively with potential supporters so they can go into the field of service God has called them to.
