L and C 선교사: 성경 번역, 아시아 보안 지역
Z언어의 신약성경이 거의 마쳐가고 있고, 현지인 성경번역 사역자가 열정을 가지고 이미 번역된 말씀으로 복음 전파에 힘쓰고 있음에 감사드립니다! 느헤미아서의 2차 점검을 마치고, 번역된 말씀이 현지인들의 모어로 얼마나 정확하고 생생하게 와 닿는지 점검하는 중요한 단계인 “공동체 점검”이 10월 중순경에 있을 예정입니다. 진행 중인 역번역 작업이 순조롭게 진행되고, 이어서 공동체 점검을 통해 번역된 말씀이 더욱 생명력 있게 다듬어지도록 함께 손을 모아 주세요.
- 말씀과 기도로 잘 충전하여 맡은 사역을 건강하고 지혜롭게 감당할 수 있도록
- 잃어버린 영혼들을 살리는 여정에 최선을 다하며 풍성한 성령 열매 추수 있도록
- 아직 믿지 않는 가족이 주의 이름으로 구원받고 믿음으로 살게 되도록

L and C: Bible translation in a sensitive area of Asia
We are grateful that the New Testament in the Z language is nearly complete and that local Bible translators are passionately spreading the Gospel using the passages that have already been translated! After completing the second revision of the Book of Nehemiah, a “community check”—a crucial step to assess how accurately and vividly the translated text resonates with local speakers in their Z language—is scheduled for around mid-October. Please join us in prayer, asking that the ongoing back-translation process proceed smoothly and that the community check further refine the translated Scripture, making it even more vibrant. Please pray:
- that they may be well-recharged through God’s Word and prayer so that L & C can carry out my ministry in a healthy and wise manner.
- that L & C may reap a bountiful harvest of the Holy Spirit’s fruit and do their very best on this journey to save lost souls.
- that L & C’s family members who do not yet believe may be saved in the Lord’s name and live by faith.

캘거리 기도팀
지난 9월 26일 토요일에 캘거리 기도팀이 함께 모여 교제하며 성경 번역 선교를 위해 함께 기도했습니다. 이번 달에는 특히 L/C 선교사를 초대하여 함께 기도했습니다. (우측 사진은 재작년에 있었던 L/C 선교사가 속한 전체 성경 번역 팀과의 바베큐 파티 교제 모습). 기도와 헌금과 숙소 및 편의 제공 및 다양한 사역으로 18년 째 계속 사역을 이어오신 기도팀에 감사드리고, 귀한 협력을 통해 하나님께서 이루신 모든 일들을 인해 감사 찬송 올려드립니다!
- 위중한 어머니 간병차 한국에 가서 참여 못하신 권사님도 계신데, 하나님의 도우심과 힘주심이 넘치도록 기도해 주시고, 팀원들 모두 강건하신 가운데 더 기쁘고 감사하게 헌신하시도록 기도해 주세요.
- 황반변성 치료 때문에 정기적으로 눈에 주사를 맞아야 하는 분도 계시는데 치료가 잘 이뤄지고 그 주사치료 빈도수가 낮아지도록 기도해 주세요.

Calgary Korean Prayer Team
Last Saturday, September 26, the Calgary Korean Prayer Team gathered to fellowship and pray together for Bible translation movement. This month, they invited L & C to join them in prayer. (The photo above shows a barbecue gathering with the entire Bible translation team, including the L & C, that took place two years ago.) We express our gratitude to the prayer team, which has continued its ministry for 18 years through prayer, offerings, providing lodging and support, and various other ministries. We lift up songs of thanksgiving for all that God has accomplished through the team's precious cooperation!
- There is a deaconess who was unable to attend because she had to return to Korea to care for her critically ill mother. Please pray that God’s help and strength will overflow to her, and that all team members will remain in good health and continue to serve with even greater joy and gratitude.
- There is also a member who must receive regular eye injections for age-related macular degeneration; please pray that the treatment goes well and that the frequency of these injections decreases.

동부 라와* 프로젝트: 성경 번역, 동남아시아 보안 지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아주세요)
지난 5월 말부터 6월 초순까지 동부 라와 번역팀이 베드로전후서의 마을 점검을 잘 진행할 수 있도록 해 주신 하나님께 찬양을 드립니다. 또한 팀은 야고보서 자문위원 점검 준비도 마쳤습니다. 팀은 모일 때마다 지역 교회 모임에서 라와어 찬송가를 계속 사용하고 있습니다. 주일 아침 예배나 주중 가정 모임에서 적절한 경우 번역된 성경을 사용하고 있습니다. 5월 초, 팀은 공로이* 마을에서 어린이 캠프를 열었습니다. 약 30명의 어린이들이 참석하여 게임을 즐기고, 라와어 읽기를 배우며, 악기 연주법을 익히는 등 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 라와 팀은 자문위원 점검을 마친 후 야고보서를 출판할 예정이며, 여기에는 오디오 녹음과 앱 및 인쇄본 제작도 포함됩니다. 또한 팀은 자문위원에게 베드로전후서를 점검받도록 하고, 사도행전은 초벌 번역이 완성된 후 팀 점검을 진행할 계획입니다.
• 지역 학교에서 문해 교육이 재개되고 성인 문해 교실도 조속히 시작될 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Eastern Lawa* Project: Bible translation in a sensitive area of Asia (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
Praise God that from late May to early June, the Eastern Lawa translation team facilitated community testing of 1 and 2 Peter. The team also completed preparations for a consultant check of James. The team continues to use the Lawa songbook at local church gatherings and uses the translated scriptures when appropriate, either on Sunday mornings or in midweek home groups. In early May, the team organized a small children’s camp in Gong Loi* village. Approximately 30 children attended the camp and had fun playing games, learning to read the Lawa language, and learning to play musical instruments. The Lawa team will publish James after the consultant completes the checks, including recording audio and creating app and print versions. The team also plans to have a consultant review 1 & 2 Peter and to draft the book of Acts for the team to review.
• Please pray for literacy work to resume in schools and for adult literacy classes to begin soon.

에볼라 전염병으로 큰 타격을 입은 동부 콩고 지역에서, 발병세가 잦아들 기미가 보이지 않고 계속 확산되고 있습니다. 이 질병과 싸우기 위해 노력하고 있는 현지 의료진과 국제기구 관계자들을 위해 기도해 주세요.

Let us pray that our churches in South Asia (RIMI) will be breeding grounds for new missionary translators and that they will be willing to pray for, train, support, and send workers to bring the Word of God to the peoples who are still waiting for it.
Pray for the Eastern Congo Group (ECG), which is deeply affected by the Ebola outbreak. The outbreak doesn’t seem to be subsiding and continues to spread. Pray for local health care providers and members of international organizations who are working to combat the disease.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
Praise God for all the volunteers who have committed to serve at JAARS Day on October 24.
Pray that all remaining openings are filled quickly. Pray that God will bring the young people He is calling to mission aviation to participate in a Vision Flight at JAARS.
We are grateful for our beautiful buildings and grounds at the JAARS base. Pray for the safety of the many staff members who work hard to keep everything in good repair.
