알버트/마르다 (이삭, 모세) 선교사: 위클리프 대만 대표, 보안국 지역 책임자
알버트 선교사가 10월 8일부터 10일까지 대만 남동부에 있는 란유섬에 가서, 그곳에 있는 소수민족인 다오족의 언어로 성경번역 사역 중인 목사님을 돕고 왔습니다. 경험 많은 선교사 부부와 새롭게 사역을 시작하는 선교사 부부가 동행하여 현지인 목사님이 성경번역 프로그램인 파라텍스트 프로그램 사용법과 기타 IT관련 기술 습득을 함께 도우며 사역과 훈련을 함께 했음에 감사드립니다. 이번 주 14일부터는 말레이시아에 있는 난민촌을 방문하는 단기팀을 섬기게 됩니다.
마르다 선교사는 지지난 주에 토론토 외곽 지역에서 모였던 보안지역 성경 번역 프로그램 관리자들의 모임을 잘 마치고, 파송 교회인 토론토 밀알교회(박형일 담임목사)에서 지난 주일날 당회와 함께 선교사역을 나누고, 후원자들과의 좋은 교제의 시간들을 가진 후 10월 6일 대만으로 안전하게 잘 귀국했습니다. 함께 기도해 주세요:
- 이번 주부터 진행되는 말레이시아 난민촌 단기 사역도 잘 감당하도록 여정과 사역을 위하여
- 알버트 선교사 백내장 수술 이후 부작용 없이 눈이 말끔하게 회복되돌록
- 마르다 선교사의 보안지역 사역 팀들을 섬기는 사역에 기름부어 주셔서, 여러 팀들이 원격 혹은 현지에서 어려움을 극복하며 번역된 말씀을 통해 변혁의 역사가 일어나는 사역 감당하도록.

Albert and Martha (Isaac, Moses): Director of Wycliffe Taiwan and Language Program Manager for a sensitive area, respectively
We are grateful that, October 8 to 10, Albert traveled to Lanyu Island in southeastern Taiwan to assist a retired pastor who is working on Bible translation in the language of the Tao, an indigenous ethnic group living there. An experienced missionary couple and a couple just starting their ministry traveled with him to assist the local pastor in learning how to use the Paratext, Bible translation software, and other IT-related skills, combining ministry with hands on job training for the newly starting couple. Starting on the 14th of this week, Albert will lead a short-term team visiting a refugee camp in Malaysia.
Martha successfully concluded a meeting of translation program managers for the sensitive area in Asia, held in the outskirts of Toronto the week before last. Last Sunday, shared her ministries with the session at her sending church, Toronto Milal Church (Senior Pastor Park Hyung-il), and enjoyed a time of fellowship with her supporters before safely returning to Taiwan on October 6.
Please pray:
- that Albert will faithfully carry out the short-term ministry in the Malaysian refugee camp beginning this week, and for the team's safe journey and ministry.
- that Albert’s eyes recover completely without any complications following his cataract surgery.
- for Martha’s ministry as she serves the teams working in the very sensitive areas, so that these teams—whether working remotely or still on-site—may overcome difficulties and carry out their ministries that the translated words will yields the fruits of transformed lives.

First Nations Translators Workshop
Mother Tongue Translators workshop for Indigenous Bible translation workers in Canada will be held at the Guelph Bible Conference Center during the week of November 9. Please pray that many churches and believers to attend the open session on Thursday, November 12, to share in this vision and pray together.

은돕 언어권 프로젝트: 카메룬
수습 번역 자문위원인 애비 선교사는 방골란어와 바메싱어 성경 번역팀과 함께 일하던 중 획기적인 순간을 경험했다고 간증했습니다. 이전까지 두 팀 모두 신약 성경 초안을 작성하는 과정에서 ‘증언’을 뜻하는 적절한 용어를 찾지 못했습니다. 이를 돕기 위해 애비 선교사는, 다투고 있는 형제자매들 사이에, 부모가 "각자의 말을 해보라"고 말하는 것과 같은 상황에서 그걸 어떻게 표현하느냐고 물었습니다. 팀원들의 눈이 반짝이며 모두 같은 표현을 내뱉었는데, 대략 “네 입으로 직접 말해 봐” 였습니다. 아직 공동체 내에서 검증을 마쳐야겠지만, 정말 이 고유한 문화적인 표현이 분명하고 자연스럽게 (보고 들은 바를) 자신의 말로 말하는 것을 잘 표현하는 말입니다. 기도해 주세요:
- 각 팀의 번역 작업, 즉 지역사회 주민들에게 읽어 주며 테스트하고, 검토하고, 팀 차원에서 다시 점검하고, 자문위원과 함께 검토하는 일들을 잘 감당하도록
- 특히 매일 불안정한 상황의 지역에 거주하는 가족들이 보호받도록
- 마을에서 성경이 더 많이 사용되도록, 특히 바붕고, 밤발랑, 바문카 등 모어로 된 신약성경이 있는 마을에서 더욱 널리 사용되도록

Ndop Cluster: Cameroon
Consultant-in-training Abby Freeland shared a breakthrough moment while working with the Bangolan and Bamessing Bible translation teams. Previously, neither team had found a satisfactory term for "testimony" while drafting the New Testament. To help, Abby presented a scenario: a parent asking a child involved in a sibling dispute to tell "their side of the story." This prompted both teams to independently arrive at the same idiomatic expression, which roughly translates to "tell me your own mouth." Pending community testing, this culturally authentic phrase offers a clear, natural way to convey a personal account. Please pray:
• for each team as they work on their translation: testing it by reading it to people in the community, reviewing it, checking it as a team, and checking it with a consultant.
• for the protection of the families of team members, particularly those living in areas where they face daily insecurity.
• for more Bible use in the villages, especially those that have the New Testament in their mother tongue: Babungo, Bambalang, and Bamunka.

Communication staff from Alliance organizations across Africa will meet in Nairobi, Kenya, November 2-6. The event will offer an opportunity to develop skills in communication strategy and technical disciplines. Please pray for the remaining funding needs for this event.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
Praise God that the Franconia, PA, Missions at the Airport event last weekend went very well, with great weather and strong attendance. The entire team has returned safely.
Pray for God's continued protection and blessing for JAARS staff currently providing water-instructor training to Brazilian students and to Brazilian missionaries who work with one of our partners.
Pray that our Hardware Engineering team can resolve software and electronics design and troubleshooting issues and complete the C206 instrument cart so Aviation Training can begin using it.
