Albert and Martha (Isaac, Moses): Director of Wycliffe Taiwan and Language Program Manager for a sensitive area, respectively
Albert launched the “Indonesian Express” program at his home church to train willing church members to serve Indonesian migrant workers in their neighborhood.
• Please pray for the instructor, a Wycliffe US member, who will teach methods for language and cultural acquisition. Also pray that the church, as the Body of Christ, will not merely serve the local community but will do its utmost to serve other ethnic groups in the surrounding area, thereby fulfilling its mission as a missional church.
• Martha is scheduled to visit Toronto in late September to attend a meeting of language program managers. Please pray that all preparations go smoothly.
알버트 선교사는 지난 주부터 소속 교회에서 Indonesian Express 프로그램을 열고 대만에 와 있는 인도네시아 출신 국제 노동자들을 섬기려는 사람들을 훈련시키고 있습니다.
• 언어/문화 습득 방법을 가르치는 강사 선교사를 위해, 또한 몸된 교회가 지역사회를 섬기는 데서 그치치 않고, 주변의 타민족을 섬기는 일에 최선을 다하여 선교적 교회의 사명을 감당하게 되도록 기도해 주세요.
• 마르다 선교사는 9월 말에 언어 프로그램 매니저들의 회의에 참석하기 위해 토론토를 방문할 예정입니다. 모든 일들이 잘 준비되고 진행되도록 기도해 주세요.

박요섭/조선향 선교사: 성경번역, 파푸아뉴기니 (엘리자베스 이야기)
엘리자베스는 카니누와 번역사역자 월포드의 아내이며 일곱 자녀가 있습니다. 3년 전에 첫 손주도 보았고, 오랫동안 교회학교 교사로 섬겼으며 작년부터는 남편과 함께 번역팀에 합류한 팀 동료 중 한 분입니다. 이번에는 조 선교사와 함께 룻과 에스더 이야기를 번역했습니다. 카니누와어 구약 파노라마 성경에 룻기와 에스더서가 포함되어 있지만, 아이들에게 들려주기 쉽게 이야기 형식으로 풀어 번역했습니다. 특히 ‘블룸(Bloom)’이라는 프로그램을 활용해 그림 이야기책을 만들고 목소리까지 녹음했습니다. 이 자료를 통해 아이들이 성경 이야기에 흥미를 갖고, 더 많은 이야기를 알기를 원하며, 말씀을 깊이 만나는 자리까지 나갈 수 있기를 기도하고 있습니다. 엘리자베스는 개인적으로 룻 이야기가 감동적이라며, 때로는 안타까워하고 때로는 감사해하며 룻의 삶에 깊이 공감했습니다. 그러면서 룻을 향한 하나님의 은혜가 크셨던 것처럼, 그와 그의 가족에게도 하나님의 크신 은혜가 있기를 바란다고 하며 다음과 같은 기도 제목을 요청해 왔습니다. 기도해 주세요.
• 엘리자베스의 친정아버지가 거동이 불편하여 주위의 도움 없이는 생활을 못하는데, 잘 회복이 되도록 기도해 주세요
• 셋째 딸 엔젤라가 타지에서 교육대학 재학 중인데, 등록금이 제 때에 마련되어 학업을 잘 이어갈 수 있도록 기도해 주세요
• 다섯째 자넷이 10월에 11학년 진급을 위한 중요한 시험을 치르는데, 좋은 결과를 얻도록 기도해 주세요

Joseph & Joyce Park: Bible translation, PNG (story of Elizabeth)
Elizabeth is the wife of Kaninuwa translator Walford, and they have seven children. She welcomed her first grandchild three years ago, has served as a Sunday school teacher for many years, and has been part of the translation team alongside her husband since last year. This time, Elizabeth worked with Joyce to translate the stories of Ruth and Esther. Although the Book of Ruth and the Book of Esther are included in the Kaninuwa Old Testament Panorama Bible, we translated them into a narrative format that is easy for children to understand. In particular, we used a program called “Bloom” to create illustrated storybooks and even record voiceovers. We pray that through these materials, children will develop an interest in Bible stories, a desire to learn more stories, and eventually a deeper encounter with God’s Word. Elizabeth said she personally found the story of Ruth moving; she deeply empathized with Ruth’s life, at times feeling heartbroken and at other times filled with gratitude. She added that, just as God’s grace toward Ruth was great, she hopes God’s great grace will also be upon her and her family. She asked for prayer regarding the following requests. Please pray for them.
• Elizabeth’s father is physically impaired and cannot manage daily life without assistance. Please pray for his full recovery.
• Angela, the third daughter, is attending a college of education in another city. Please pray that her tuition is paid on time so she can continue her studies.
• Janet, the fifth daughter, will take an important exam in October to advance to 11th grade. Please pray that she will achieve good results.

토론토지역 카이로스 코스
광역 토론토 지역 교회들을 위한 카이로스 코스가 9월 17일부터 시작되어 11월 5일까지 매주 목요일 본한인교회 (고영민 담임목사)에서 열립니다.
본한인교회와 토론토영락교회 성도님들의 참여와 섬김에 감사드립니다. 특별히 2 교회에서 동원에 참여해주신 결과 약 20 명의 참가자들이 함께 선교적 삶의 여정을 시작하시게 되었습니다.
모두 건강하에 열심히 참여하셔서 다 수료하시도록, 또한 그 결과 선교적 삶의 열매가 풍성이 맺히도록 기도해 주세요.

Kairos course for Korean-Canadian Churches/GTA
The Kairos Course for Korean Canadian churches in the Greater Toronto Area thankfully started with about 20 participants last Friday and will be held every Thursday until November 5 at Vaughan Community Church (Rev. Young-Min Koh, senior pastor).
Please pray that a good number of people will join, that the facilitators will be thoroughly prepared and work well together, and that the course will bear fruit in the form of a missional life for all participants. Pray also for the good team work for the facilitation team as they will have and pre-course meeting for training and preparation, on Sunday, Sep. 13. 사역팀이 장학금 수혜자 지원서를 심사하고 선발하는 과정에서 지혜와 분별력을 주시도록 기도해 주세요. 보안 지역인 미얀마에서 3~4명의 학생이 지원한 것을 인하여 하나님께 찬양드립니다.

Payap University MA Program: Southeast Asia
Pray for wisdom and discernment as scholarship student applications are reviewed and selections are made. Praise God that 3-4 students from Myanmar applied.
Faye* began her studies with ESL tutoring about a year ago, and Mark* began with English tests in January. They both completed prerequisite classes and entered the MA Linguistics program this September! Please pray for Faye and Mark:
Faye:
- Pray for her upcoming MA journey as she walks all the way through it to learn and study with passion and an obedient heart for God's calling.
- for her to decide for which track she should get trained, literacy or translation.
Mark:
- Pray for His wisdom all through this academic journey, and pray for his family back home—for their health, safety, studies, and peace.
- for his long-term heart's desire: to help provide a specific group of people with the Bible in their own heart language.

Weekly prayer with JAARS
The JAARS Aviation Technical Conference is being held this week at the JAARS base. Pray that the meetings will be helpful and beneficial to all delegates from the many organizations represented.
Pray for the Kwadima II as it makes a pickup run to transport the Diodio translation committee from Goodenough Island to Alotau for Translator Training Course II.
Pray for the annual Water Safety Training with ALEM (Wycliffe Brazil), taking place from September 22 to October 18, with three JAARS staff members teaching. Pray that the instruction will be clear and that the training will meet all participants' needs.
