박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 파푸아뉴기니 카니누와 종족 성경 번역
박 선교사 부부가 이번주부터 레비, 사이몬과 함께 ‘갈라디아서’를 공부하며 번역하고 있습니다. 성령의 도우심으로 말씀을 잘 이해하고, 하나님이 지혜 주셔서 카니누와어로 명확하게 번역할 수 있도록, 레비의 아내 루디가 부인병으로 문제가 있어 수술을 받아야 하는데 5명의 헌혈자가 필요하다고 합니다. 필요한 혈액이 잘 구해져서 수술 받을 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. “예수 영화 (Jesus Film)’를 카니누와어로 더빙하기 위해 배역을 나누어 녹음을 연습하고 있는데, 이번 기회를 통해서 역할을 맡은 사람들이 예수님을 인격적으로 만나게 되는 경험이 있도록, 올해 봉헌된 구약 파노라마 책이 마을 교회에서, 가정에서, 개인적으로 읽혀지고 들려져서 하나님의 말씀이 카니누와 사람들에게 잘 심겨지도록, 박 선교사 부부를 비룻한 카니누와 프로젝트팀원 모두가 영육 간에 강건하여 맡은 책무들을 은혜로 잘 감당하도록 기도해 주세요.

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible Translation, Papua New Guinea (PNG)
The Parks are studying and translating Galatians with Levi and Simon starting this week. Please pray that they will understand the Word well with the help of the Holy Spirit and that God will give them wisdom to translate it clearly into the Kaninuwa language. Levi's wife, Rudy, has a serious illness and needs surgery, and they need five blood donors. Please pray that they will be able to find the blood they need so that she can have the surgery. By dividing the roles, the Kaninuwa team is practicing recording the dubbing of the Jesus Film into the Kaninuwa language. Please pray that through this opportunity, those assigned roles will experience encountering Jesus personally. Please pray that the “Kaninuwa Old Testament Panorama” book, dedicated this year, will be read and shared in churches, homes, and personally, so that God's Word may be well planted in the hearts of the Kaninu people. Pray that Joseph and Joice, along with all the Kaninu people and project team members, will be strengthened in body and spirit to faithfully and graciously fulfill their responsibilities.

페루 동부 아푸리멕 케츄아 성경 봉헌식
5/22-31일까지 페루 산지의 동부 아푸리맥 케츄아 성경 전권 봉헌식에 위클리프 스탭들과 이규준 선교사와 토론토지역의 한인 후원자들 5 분이 함께 참여합니다. 위클리프 말레이시아와 일본에서도 관계자들이 함께 할 예정입니다. 이번 여행을 통해 현지인 성경번역/문해사역 단체인 아이디아(AIDIA)의 사역 현장도 함께 방문하여 성경번역 선교를 통한 공동체의 변화와 지역교회의 활발한 사역을 확인하고, 계속해서 진행 중인 다른 지역 언어의 성경번역 프로젝트도 소개받습니다. 여행의 안전과 풍성한 교제와 더 깊고 넓은 동역의 기회가 열리도록 기도해 주세요.

5 Partners from Toronto will join Eastern Apurímac Quechua Bible Dedication, Peru
From May 22-31, Wycliffe staff, Gyoojun and five Korean-Canadian supporters from the Toronto area will join at the dedication ceremony of the Eastern Apurimac Quechua Bible in the Peruvian mountains area. Representatives from Wycliffe Malaysia and Japan will also be joining us. The trip will also include a visit to the work of AIDIA, a local Bible translation and literacy ministry organization, to see the transformation of communities and the active work of local churches through the translated Bible in their languages, and to learn about ongoing Bible translation projects in other regional languages. Pray for safety, rich fellowship, and opportunities for deeper and wider partnership as a result of this trip.

동부 라와 프로젝트: 성경 번역, 동남아시아 보안 지역 (배포하거나 온라인에 게시하지 말아 주세요)
동부 라와 팀은 매주 지역 학교를 방문해 4학년에서 7학년까지 170명의 어린이들에게 모어 읽기를 가르쳤습니다. 라와 리더들은 사람들이 자기 모어로 읽기와 쓰기를 배우는 것을 지원하며, 특히 학생들 사역에 집중하고 있음을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다. 마가복음의 오디오 녹음이 완료되었습니다. 이 파일을 오디오 성경 앱에 업로드하기 위한 최종 준비가 진행 중입니다. 이 작업이 완료되면 앱에서 인쇄할 수 있도록 QR 코드가 생성됩니다. 이 프로젝트를 통하여 일하시는 하나님을 찬양하며 그동안 이루어 주신 열매들입니다: 창세기부터 사도행전까지 50개의 연대기 성경 이야기, 알파벳과 글자 체계, 지역 학교에서의 활발한 문해 프로그램, 요나와 야고보서의 최종 점검 준비 완료 및 룻기와 마가복음 완성, 오디오 성경 플레이어, 60개의 예배용 노래들, 그리고 교회 개척을 통해 변화된 많은 사람들. 동인과 진*, 한국성경번역선교회(GBT) 선교사가 사는 마을과 이웃 꽁로이*마을에서 매주 아이들을 섬기는 사역을 위해, 이 부부에게 하나님이 지혜와 힘을 주시도록 기도해 주세요.

Eastern Lawa project: Bible translation in a sensitive area in Asia (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
Praise God, the Eastern Lawa team has visited schools weekly and taught 170 children from grades 4 to 7 to read. Lawa leadership supports helping people learn to read and write their language, especially students. Praise God, the audio recording of Mark is finished. Final preparations are now being made to upload these files to an audio Bible app. Once that is done, a QR code will be generated for the App to print on the inside of any printed materials. Together with the Lawa, we praise God for many fruits: 50 chronological Bible stories from Creation to the Book of Acts, a beautiful approved alphabet and writing system, an active literacy program in local schools, Jonah and James ready for final checking, Books of Ruth and Mark complete, audio Scripture players, 60 worship songs, and many transformed lives through church plants. Please pray for Korean team members Dongin and Jin* as they work with kids in their village and the new village of GongLoi* every week. Ask God to give them wisdom and energy. *pseudonym

'성경을 번역하는 교회', 목회자 모임: 아르헨티나
라틴아메리카 (아르핸티나) 성경번역협회는지난 3월 11일 아르헨티나 교회의 성경 번역 사역에 대해 논의하기 위한 목회자 모임으로 모였습니다. 참석자들은 교회의 선교 활동에서의 적극적인 역할, 성경 번역의 현재 과제, 세대를 초월한 협력의 필요성에 대해 논의했습니다. 협회의 사역자들과 함께 생각을 나누어 주신 목회자들, 모임에 참여한 모든 분들에게 감사드립니다. 이 모임에서 함께 앞으로 나아가겠다는 목표를 천명했습니다. 이번 모임의 결과로 하나님께서 더 많은 교회들이 성경 번역 사역에 동참하도록 영감을 주시기를 기도해 주세요.

‘A church that translates’, a gathering with pastors: Argentina
LETRA Argentina hosted a gathering with pastors on 11 March to dialogue about the role of the Argentine church in Bible translation. They discussed the importance of the church's active role in mission, the current challenges in Bible translation, and the need for teamwork that transcends generations. Praise God for the pastors who were present and who shared reflections with LETRA Argentina staff, as well as for each person who joined the meeting. Together, they expressed the goal of continuing to move forward. Pray that as a result of this meeting, God will inspire more churches to become involved in Bible translation.

신성한 동역: 가나
길버트(GILLBT, 가나 언어 문화 연구소)는 성경 번역 사역과 교회가 동전의 양면과 같이 서로 분리될 수 없으며 상호 보완적인 관계임을 믿습니다. 성경 활용의 주요 최종 사용자인 교회는 번역된 성경이 공동체 내에서 받아들여지고 이해되며 삶에 적용되도록 해주어야 합니다. 이 중요한 관계를 인식함으로써 길버트가 가나의 교회들과 계속해서 협력을 강화해 온 것을 하나님께 감사드립니다. 이로 인해 목회자, 교회 공동체, 기독교 단체들이 성경 자료와 관련 교육에서 더 많은 혜택을 받을 수 있는 기회가 열렸습니다. 길버트는 하나님의 말씀이 가나 전역에서 사용이 가능하고 영향력 있게 전달되도록 이러한 동역 관계를 강화하기 위해 의도적인 노력을 기울여 온 것을 인하여 하나님을 찬송합니다. 연구소의 다양한 교회 협력 사역이 교회 내외의 단합을 촉진하고 그 결과 더 많은 교회의 리더들이 이 운동에 참여하게 되도록 기도해 주세요.

A divine partnership: Ghana
The Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT) considers that Bible translation and the church are two sides of the same coin. They are inseparable and mutually essential. As the primary end-users of Scripture engagement materials, the church must ensure that translated Scriptures are embraced, understood, and lived out within communities. Thank God that by recognising this vital relationship, GILLBT has deepened its collaboration with churches in Ghana. Praise God that this has also created more opportunities for pastors, congregations, and Christian institutions to benefit from Scripture materials and related training. GILLBT has deliberately strengthened these partnerships to make God’s Word accessible and impactful across Ghana. Pray for GILLBT’s diverse ongoing church engagement efforts to foster unity within and among the churches and engage more of their leaders.

Training
Skill, knowledge, and experience are crucial elements that can make all the difference when approaching missions in a challenging new setting. Especially when your role is to solve critical logistical problems for workers already there. JAARS provides focused, specialized training that is vital in many different areas for those preparing for work in Bible translation and related ministries. Please pray that God will mightily use our instructors to provide practical, helpful training for those preparing for missions work.
