대외협력부서 연합 수련회
1월 27-30일에 열린 위클리프 캐나다 대외협력 부서 연합 수련회 및 사역회의가 캘거리 지역에서 은혜 중에 잘 마쳤습니다. 은혜로운 말씀과 삶과 사역의 나눔과 서로를 위한 기도와 축복의 시간, 여러 부서 간의 상호 이해 증진과 협력 강화, 네 가지의 공통 문제 해결에 대한 실행계획 수립 등의 구체적인 열매가 있었음에 하나님께 감사와 찬송을 올려드립니다. 특히 디아스포라 팀의 동원사역에 대해 타부서의 깊은 이해와 협력강화의 기회가 되었음에 감사드립니다. 계속해서 더 의미 있고 효과적인 동역이 일어나도록 기도해 주시고, 아래 링크에 있는 자세한 내용들을 보시고 함께 기도해주시면 감사하겠습니다.

External Engagement Team Retreat
Praise God that Wycliffe Canada's External Engagement Team Retreat and ministry meeting held on January 27-30 was well completed. We praise God for the gracious sharing of the staff members' words, lives, and ministries, the time of prayer and blessing for each other, the enhanced mutual understanding and cooperation among the various departments, and the concrete fruit of developing action plans to address four common issues. We are especially grateful for the opportunity to deepen understanding and strengthen cooperation with other departments regarding the mobilization ministries of the Diaspora Engagement Team. Please continue to pray for more meaningful and effective collaborations between departments, and join us in praying for more details in the links below.

위의 수련회 및 회의에 잘 참석하여 은혜로운 나눔이 있었음에 감사드리고, 캘거리 기도팀과의 만남을 통해 이분들의 계속되는 헌신적인 동역에 대해 감사드릴 수 있었음에 감사드립니다! 2월 3일 주일 오후에 캘거리영락교회에서 성경번역 선교의 비전과 제직들의 헌신에 대한 말씀을 잘 전할 수 있게 기도해 주시고 앞으로 좋은 동역관계가 형성되도록 기도해 주세요. 또한, 2월 5일 저녁에 인터페이스 진행훈련을 잘 인도하며, 2월 8일에 있을 카이로스 코스 북미 한인 책임조력자 훈련을 잘 준비하고 인도할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee: Diaspora mobilization, Canada
We are grateful for the gracious sharing at the above meetings and for the opportunity to meet with the Calgary Prayer Team to thank them for their years of ongoing commitment! Please pray that Gyoojun will be able to share the vision of the Bible translation mission and the commitment of all lay leaders to God's ministries when he preaches at the Calgary English Church on Sunday afternoon, February 3, and that good partnerships will be formed between the church and Wycliffe Canada. Also, pray that Gyoojun and Jinsook will be able to prepare and lead the Procedural Training of the Interface Seminar on the evening of February 5, and the Kairos Course North American Korean Head Facilitator Training starting on February 8.

북부 와미*프로젝트: 나씨*바 이야기
세 아이의 엄마인 나씨*바는 재봉 센터에서 이야기꾼으로부터 예수님에 대한 이야기를 처음 들었습니다. 예수님 이야기는 그녀에게 새로운 것이었고, 호기심과 더 알고 싶은 욕구를 불러일으켰습니다. 그녀는 그 이야기를 주의 깊게 들었을 뿐 아니라, 집에서 아이들과 나누기 시작했고, 일 년 내내 받은 영감을 아이들에게 전했습니다. 그녀는 진심 어린 감사의 마음을 표현하며 “바느질과 읽고 쓰는 법을 가르쳐 주셔서 감사합니다. 앞으로도 계속 찾아와 주시고 예수님에 대한 이야기를 들려주면 좋겠습니다”라고 말했습니다. 그녀의 말은 영적 성장을 향한 깊은 갈망과 자신뿐만 아니라 가족과 지역 사회를 위해 예수님에 대해 계속 배우고 싶은 열망을 반영합니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다! 그녀의 말은 믿음의 씨앗이 예상치 못한 방식으로 뿌리를 내리고 삶을 변화시킬 수 있음을 보여줍니다. 재봉 및 문해 센터가 계속해서 여성들에게 힘을 실어주고, 삶을 개선하고 가족을 부양하는 데 필요한 기술을 갖추게 해 주는 장소가 될 수 있도록, 이 여성들에게 실용적인 기술과 영적 성장을 모두 가르쳐 주는 강사들과 사역자들에게 지혜 주시도록, 또한 여성들이 자신감과 신앙 안에서 계속 성장할 수 있도록, 그들이 지역사회에서 리더십 역할을 감당할 때 그들을 강하게 해주시고, 다른 사람들에게 희망과 격려의 등불이 될 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Northern Warmi* Project: Naseeba’s story
Naseeba, a married woman with three children, first heard about Jesus through a story shared by the story crafter at the sewing center. Stories of Jesus were new to her, sparking curiosity and a desire to learn more. She listened attentively and began sharing these stories with her children at home, passing on the inspiration she received throughout the year. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, "We thank you for teaching us sewing and how to read and write, but I request you to continue visiting us and sharing stories of Jesus." Her words reflect a deep hunger for spiritual growth and a desire to keep learning about Jesus, not only for herself but also for her family and community. Praise God! Her statement shows how the seeds of faith can take root in unexpected ways, transforming lives. Please pray for the sewing & literacy centers to continue to be a place of empowerment, equipping women with the skills they need to improve their lives and support their families. Pray for wisdom for the trainers and staff as they guide these women in both practical skills and spiritual growth. Pray also for the women to continue growing in confidence and faith. Ask God to strengthen them as they take on leadership roles in their communities, and that they would be beacons of hope and encouragement to others. *pseudonym

Reflecting faith, fellowship, and unity as a community: Ethiopia
Being part of the Alliance is an act of faith and fellowship that expresses humility, patience, and diversity. Wycliffe Ethiopia believes that each Alliance organization has gifts that unite us in a testimony to God's glory. Guided by his Word, with others, Wycliffe Ethiopia expresses love, forgiveness, and service, encouraging and supporting one another toward a common goal. As Psalm 133:1 says, ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!’ Friendship with partners goes beyond collaboration. It is rooted in trust, respect, and shared commitment to the Great Commission. Open communication, support, and celebration of each other's successes are done in a relationship that honors everyone. Thank God for friendships that provide strength and wisdom in the face of challenges. This becomes a living testimony of God’s love for the world. Living in a community and practicing friendship within the Alliance reflects faith, fellowship, and unity.

선교 체험 여행을 위한 협력: 캐나다, 남아프리카 공화국
위클리프 캐나다의 동원사역 팀은 오는 5월에 참가자들이 성경 번역 사역의 기회를 경험할 수 있도록 선교 체험 여행을 인도할 준비를 하고 있습니다. 레이첼과 메어리 선교사의 주도로 위클리프 캐나다의 여러 부서로 부터 많은 지원을 받아 준비과정이 잘 진행되고 있습니다. 위클리프 남아공의 훌륭한 성경 활용 사역과 경험에 대해 듣고 이번 단기 선교 프로그램을 함께 준비합니다. 위클리프 남아공의 프로그램 담당자 헬렌 선교사가 여러가지 실무적인 협의를 통하여 소요 예산과 경비를 줄이는 데 여러 가지 방법으로 도움을 주었습니다. 헬렌 선교사는 모두 같은 사명을 위해 일하고 있다는 것을 분명히 했습니다. 즉, 지상의 모든 사람이 자신들의 언어로 복음을 듣고 믿게 되며 이 여행은 성경 번역 사역의 미래 인력에 대한 투자로서 이 여행에 함께 참여한 이들은 잘 훈련받게 될 것입니다. 이는 그리스도의 몸이 서로를 섬기는 모범이 되는 것과 같습니다. 단기 선교팀이 섬길 카압과 햄바, 두 공동체가 주안에서 용기를 얻도록, 참가자들이 서로를 알아가고 여행 경비 마련을 위해 노력할 수 있도록, 참가자들이 성경 번역 사역에 헌신하도록 주님께서 어떻게 인도하시는지를 이번 행사를 통해서 잘 분별할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Collaboration in organizing mission exposure trips: Canada, South Africa
The mobilization team of Wycliffe Canada is preparing to lead a mission exposure trip in May 2025, for participants to explore opportunities in Bible translation ministry. Organisers Rachel Nweke and Mary Ellen Faust received much assistance across departments in Wycliffe Canada, to prepare and to facilitate well. Hearing that Wycliffe South Africa (WSA) had excellent Scripture engagement processes and experience, they approached them about hosting the trip. WSA host Helen van der Walt has helped in so many ways to answer questions and trim the budget and front expenses. She made it clear that they are all working for the same mission—that all people on earth will hear the gospel in their own language and believe; and that those who are sent will be well-trained—as an investment in the future workforce of Bible translation ministry. This is an example of the body of Christ serving each other. Pray for the two communities the team will be serving (Kaaps and Himba), that they will be encouraged in the Lord. Pray also for the participants, as they get to know one another and jump into raising support for trip costs. Pray that the Lord would work in their lives as they discern how he may be leading them to serve in Bible translation ministries.

JAARS Training
Skill, knowledge, and experience are crucial elements that can make all the difference when approaching missions in a challenging new setting. Especially when your role is to solve critical logistical problems for workers already there. JAARS provides focused, specialized training that is vital in many different areas for those preparing for work in Bible translation and related ministries. Please pray that God will mightily use our instructors to provide practical, helpful training for those preparing for missions work.
