Jung-Mok Woo: new volunteer in IT, Calgary

Jung Mok Woo of the Calgary All Nations Community Church started volunteering at the IT department in the head office of Wycliffe Canada in Calgary. We are very thankful for his ministry as he works together with his team to help donors make their donations online.  His work helps Wycliffe Canada manage the information seamlessly with the internal database program. Please pray for him to work well with the rest of the team.

Korean Kairos Course in Edmonton 

We praise God that the Kairos course in Edmonton went well and we’re thankful that all of the participants have decided to embrace all nations with God's heart and live a missional life! It is very encouraging to see how well the churches in Edmonton worked together for God's Kingdom. Please pray that more churches and Christians can be continuously engaged in God's mission through the Kairos course.

Psalms Dedication Service: First Nations Bible Translation initiative

On the 3rd Sunday of Lent, March 24th, 2019 there was a special service held at St. John’s Parish, Kawawachikamach, for the dedication of the translated book of Psalms in the Naskapi language. This is another important milestone for the work the Naskapi translation team does in making the Bible available and accessible in their own language. With the present publication, the Naskapi Development Corporation (NDC) is pleased to present all 150 Psalms to Naskapi readers for the first time in a single volume since the dedication of the book of Genesis in 2013, and the publication of the New Testament in 2007. Our prayer is that these Scriptures will bless the Naskapi people for generations as they have blessed millions of God’s people around the world for thousands of years. The translation team expressed to us how proud they are of this accomplishment, and the Naskapi people are also grateful to have still another part of the Bible available to them in their language. Please join us in praise and thanks to God and congratulations to the translation team at Kawawachikamach for this accomplishment!    

시편 봉헌 예배: 원주민 성경번역 운동

지난 3월 24일, 세번째 사순절 주일에 까와와치까막의 성요한교회에서 나스카피 부족어로 번역된 시편을 봉헌하는 아주 특별한 예배를 드렸습니다. 이로서 나스카피 번역팀이 자기네 모어로 만든 또 하나의 획기적인 이정표가 됩니다. 2007년도 신약 발간, 2013년도에 창세기에 이어 이번엔 시편 전체를 1권으로 발간하여 나스카피 언어권에 봉헌하게된 나스카피개발공사의 큰 기쁨입니다. 이 성경책들은 수천년동안 수백만의 하나님의 사람들을 축복한 것 같이 나스카피 부족에게 복이 되도록 기도합니다. 번역팀의 귀한 헌신으로 완역된 것 얼마나 자랑스러운지요, 남은 구약 번역과 함께 나스카피 부족들 또한 얼마나 감사한 일인지 모릅니다. 까와와치까막에서 이루어 낸 번역팀의 시편 봉헌을 축하하며 함께 하나님께 감사와 찬송을 올려드립시다!

Training for Menshevik translators: Russian Federation

The name Menshevik comes from the Russian word for ‘minority’ and is used as a cover for a project training speakers of minority languages in Russia to use new technologies to make Scripture texts and audio more readily available in their languages. Praise God that the latest training workshops brought together individuals from so many different language groups in Russia.

멘세비키 부족어 번역자들을 위한 훈련: 러시아연방

멘셰비키라는 말은 러시아어로 '소수 민족'이라는 단어에서 유래되었으며 소수 언어를 사용하는 러시아 소수 부족들을 대상으로 새로운 기술로 자기네 모어로 된 글자와 음성을 보다 손쉽게 ​​사용할 수 있도록 훈련하는 프로젝트의 표지로 사용됩니다. 최근 이 훈련 워크샵에 러시아의 여러 다른 언어 그룹의 사람들이 많이 한자리에 모이게 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 

Leadership transitions and development: Asia

Several leaders for SIL International in Asia will change works roles over the next three months. Pray for the current leaders to fully orient the incoming leaders in their new positions. Two key training and orientation programs are part of the development and orientation for new leaders. Pray for the staff of these programs as they prepare for the events. SIL seeks to develop new Asian leaders to promote localization. Pray for men and women to be identified, trained and prepared to join of the leadership teams for the various countries.

Please pray for Sentani, a town in Papua, Indonesia, and the people who live there whose lives and property have been devastated by rain and flooding in mid-March. Pray for the Papuan people who have lost so much through the disaster, especially those who have lost loved ones or still have loved ones missing

In the Waata and Chonyi languages of Kenya, translation has begun on the Gospel of Luke for the JESUS film. Pray the film will be an effective tool for evangelism.

Lift up the Umbangala (Angola) translation team as they proofread the New Testament manuscript. It takes concentration, good health, and alert eyes. Pray they will find any errors before it is sent for printing.
