알버트/마르다 (이삭, 모세) 선교사: 위클리프 대만 대표, 보안국 지역 책임자

알버트 선교사는 5월에 대만에서 있을 위클리프 국제 연대 아시아-태평양 지역 지도자 모임의 준비를 돕고 있습니다. 연이어 5월 말에 있을 대만 소수민족들을 위한 인공지능을 이용하는 번역 워크숍도 준비하고 있습니다. 참석하는 소수민족 성경 번역 팀들에게 유익한 시간이 되도록, 특히 시라야 족의 성경 번역에 도움이 되도록 기도해 주세요. 마르다 선교사는 계속해서 보안지역 사역 팀들을 섬기고 있는데 지혜와 소통의 은혜를 더해주시도록, 지난 한 달간 신경 감염으로 다시 심한 두통으로 어려움을 겼고 있는데, 의사들이 원인을 찾을 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. .

Albert and Martha (Isaac, Moses): Director of Wycliffe Taiwan and Language Program Manager of a sensitive area, respectively

Albert is helping to organize the WAG Asia Pacific director's meeting in Taiwan in May. Albert is also preparing for a workshop on AI-aided translation for ethnic minorities in Taiwan at the end of May. Please pray for a fruitful time for the ethnic minority Bible translation teams in attendance, especially for the Siraya. Martha continues to serve the team in a sensitive area. Please ask God to give her more wisdom and grace for communication skills. She has been struggling with severe headaches again for the past month due to a nerve infection; please pray that the doctors can find the cause...

열린문장로교회(버지니아주, 헌던) 청소년 팀 11 명이 잘스 센터에서 3월 24-26일, 2박 3일 동안 성경 번역 선교를 위한 다양한 종류의 사역, 삶과 직업, 기술로 섬기는 일들에 대해 배우게 됩니다. 하나님이 주시는 삶과 선교의 비전을 잘 갖도록, 인도하는 이규준/한진숙 선교사 부부의 안전한 여행과 열매 맺는 사역을 위해 기도해 주세요.

JAARS Missions Vision Trip

A youth group of 11 people from Open Door Presbyterian Church (Herndon, Virginia) will spend two days and three nights, March 24-26, at the JAARS Center to learn about different types of ministry life and vocational skills for Bible translation ministries. Pray for Gyoojun and Jinsook's safe travels and fruitful ministry and that this youth group will be led to have a God-given vision for their life and mission with God.

30 Days of Prayer for Muslims in Canada

We thankfully share the prayer request items developed by Loving Muslims Together for Muslims in Canada during Ramadan. We hope you will join the prayer movement for Muslims, praying for Bible translation projects carried out for language groups with Islamic beliefs worldwide, especially in some parts of Africa, Middle Asia, South East Asia, and the Muslim diaspora scattered around the world.

프로젝트 리더는 현지 대학 K 언어권 학생 모임에 초대받았고, 약 350명의 학생들이 모였습니다. "이 자리에 참석하여 1998년 10월 이후의 K 어 발전에 대해 이야기할 수 있는 좋은 기회였습니다." 참가자들은 K 어 발전에 대한 기여에 박수를 보냈고, 많은 사람들이 K 어를 처음 알게 되어 반가워했습니다. 한 사역 팀원은 언어학과 학생들에게 잘 알려지지 않은 언어의 다양한 측면에 대한 연구 논문 작성에 대하여 조언할 기회도 가졌습니다. 3주 후, 다른 두 곳에서 강연을 했고, 여러 번 초대를 받았으며 꼭 와줄 것을 요청받기도 했습니다. 모임들이 매우 잘 진행되었고, "학생들이 매우 감사했고 유익한 시간이었습니다. 맞춤법에 대한 좋은 토론이 있었고, 질의응답 시간이 있었습니다." 300명이 넘는 K언어권 대학생들과 모어 글쓰기와 키보드 자판 개발에 대한 발표를 나눌 수 있는 좋은 기회를 주신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 에스아이엘 사역자의 딸과 가족은 건강이 훨씬 좋아졌습니다. 그러나 사역자는 약 3개월 동안 코막힘, 호흡기 감염, 지속적인 기침으로 어려움을 겪어 왔습니다. 잘 회복되도록 기도해 주세요.

K Project: Tell Us More!

The project leader was invited to attend a gathering of K students at a regional university. There were about 350 students in the gathering. "It was a good and great opportunity to be part of it and to talk about the developments that have taken place in the K language since October 1998." The audience applauded the contribution to developing the K language, and many were pleased to learn about this for the first time. A team member had the opportunity to advise the students of the linguistics department to start their research work for their thesis on different aspects of lesser-known languages in the area. Three weeks later, he spoke in two other locations. He had been invited many times, insisting that he come. He said the meetings went very well. "These were highly appreciated and highly beneficial for students. There was a good discussion on the orthography, and questions were raised and answered." Praise God for good opportunities to share presentations of writing and keyboard developments in the K language with over 300 K University students. The SIL team's daughter and family are doing much better with their health. The husband of the SIL team has been struggling with congestion, upper respiratory infection, and lingering cough for about three months. Please pray for a full recovery.

교회에서 성경 이야기 활용하기: 방글라데시

방글라데시의 한 언어 공동체에서 48명의 파트타임 설교자들이 구전 성경 이야기를 사용하도록 훈련받고 있습니다. 이들이 하나님의 말씀을 더 잘 이해하고 진리의 말씀을 잘 전할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 구약성경 번역본이 이 언어로 곧 출판될 수 있음을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다. 3월에 지도자들이 모여 신약성경 번역 여부를 결정할 예정입니다. 공동체는 프로젝트를 조율하고 재정 모금을 돕는 등 사역 관리에 더 많은 역할을 맡게 됩니다. 또한 수석 번역가는 앞으로 4~5년 더 사역할 것인지도 결정해야 합니다. 동참하는 모든 이들에게 하나님의 지혜와 하나됨을 위해 기도해 주세요.

Using Bible stories in the church: Bangladesh

In one language community in Bangladesh, 48 part-time preachers are being trained to use oral Bible stories. Please pray that they will gain a better understanding of God’s Word and be able to communicate his truths. Praise God that the Old Testament translation is awaiting publication in this language. Leaders will meet in March to decide if they will translate the New Testament. The community is invited to have a greater role in managing the work, including coordinating the project and contributing to the budget. The lead translator must also decide if he will stay for another 4-5 years. Pray for wisdom and unity for all involved.

시편과 잠언의 번역: 페루

제너 선교사와 케추아어 번역팀은 지난해에 번역 자문위원들과 협력하여 금년중 시편과 잠언을 출판하기로 했습니다. 시편과 잠언은 인쇄본과 함께 앱으로도 출판될 예정입니다. 일 년 내내 번역 자문위원인 드와이트 선교사와 래리 선교사가 직접 또는 원격으로 교신하며 준비하는 데 시간을 보냈습니다. 잠언의 자문위원 최종 점검이 완료되어 출판 준비가 완료되었습니다. 지금까지 102 편의 시편들이 자문위원 점검을 받을 준비가 되었습니다. 번역팀의 수고와 번역의 진척을 인하여 하나님께 감사드립니다. 시편이 완성되고 잠언이 곧 출판될 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Translation of the books of Psalms and Proverbs: Perú

Jenner Valdivia and the Quechua translation team worked with consultants during 2023 on approving Psalms and Proverbs for publication in 2024. They will be published both in print and in the app they created. Throughout the year, they spent time responding to notes from consultants Dwight Shaver and Larry Salay, both in person and remotely. The final consultant check of Proverbs is finished and ready for publication. So far, 102 chapters of Psalms are ready for consultant checking. Thanks to God for the work of the translation team and their progress in the translations. Pray for the completion of the book of Psalms and the publication of Proverbs.

JAARS Prayerline

Please pray for our Global Operations team as they interact with political leaders and nongovernment organizations to open new fields within the dense rainforests of South America, Africa, and Melanesia. Strategically placed transportation hubs would supply vital personnel, equipment, and resources to begin mission work in currently unreached areas of the world. Pray, too, that God would raise up many gospel patrons who will give generously out of their abundance to advance God’s kingdom.
