Retreat for the External Relations Team

Wycliffe Canada has an online retreat for the External Relations team for two days, Monday to Tuesday this week. We are thankful to God for the good network streaming and the staff members’ experience that enables this meeting. Please pray that we can serve Bibleless people groups together with Canadian churches better than ever as a result of this retreat. We will deal with integrating the outgoing messages and dynamic collaborations between the departments. Pray also for a creative way of doing ministries for the teams during this pandemic.

대외협력부서 온라인 수련회

위클리프 캐나다 대외협력팀이 이번 주 월요일과 화요일에 온라인 수련회를 갖습니다. 안정적인 네트워킹과 그 동안의 경험으로 온라인 수련회가 가능한 것에 감사드립니다. 이번 수련회에서는 다양한 매체를 통한 대외 전달 메시지의 통합과 부서간에 더욱 활발한 협력을 모색하게 됩니다. 이로 인해 위클리프가 캐나다 교회들과 함께 전보다 더 잘 성경없는 부족들을 섬기게 되도록, 또한 여러 팀들이 세계적인 전염병 사태에 직면하여 보다 창의적인 방법으로 사역을 지속해 나가도록 기도해주세요.

 Translating while in lockdown: Peru

In March, four Bible translators from the Sihuas Quechua community in Peru travelled to the city of Sihuas for a translation workshop. The day the men arrived, the Peruvian President announced a country-wide lockdown, and grocery stores closed. Unhindered, the men found a neighbor to make their meals. They worked online from the hostel where they stayed. Translators on the same team joined them from California by the internet. Blessed with a good connection, the team completed the translation of the Book of Mark. One of the translators expressed that he was impacted by the power of Jesus to heal. “He is the doctor of all doctors,” he said, “and he can also heal our land in this present day. The Gospel of Mark has increased our faith.” Unable to secure public transportation, the men caught a ride home on a truck. Give thanks to God for his provision and the success of the workshop. 

이동제한 상황중의 번역: 페루

지난 3월 페루 케추아 부족에서 온 성경 번역가 4명이 번역 워크숍을 위해 시후아스 시에 도착했습니다. 이들이 도착한 날, 페루 대통령은 국가 비상사태(이동중지)를 선포했고, 식료품 상점들은 문을 닫았습니다. 그러나 당황하지 않고 근처에서 음식을 제공받을 수 있는 이웃을 찾았고 머물렀던 호스텔에서 온라인으로 일을 했습니다. 같은 팀의 번역가들이 캘리포니아에서 인터넷으로 그들과 합류하여 다행히 안정적인 인터넷 접속으로 마가복음을 완역 했습니다. 번역가 중 한 사람은 예수의 치유 능력에 감동을 받았다고 했습니다. "예수님은 모든 의사들의 의사, 예수님은 오늘날에도 이 땅을 고칠 수 있다. 마가복음이 우리의 믿음을 강화시켜 주었다."고 말합니다. 안전한 대중 교통이 없었는데 이들은 트럭을 얻어 타고 귀가하였습니다. 하나님의 예비하심과 성공적인 워크샵을 인하여 하나님께 감사와 찬송을 올립니다.

Urgent needs: Norway
The Director of Wycliffe Norway asks us to pray for the following urgent matters:  That all personnel who have been evacuated to their passport countries can find a place to stay until they can return to their assignment locations, For provision for staff whose financial support was budgeted for locations where costs are lower, For staff who need to find new ways to work remotely, For all personnel remaining in assignment locations who face shutdowns, threats, the spread of the Coronavirus, and therefore limitations on how they carry out their work.

Pray for wisdom for leaders of organizations that have staff in other countries, that they would know how to support personnel in this totally unprecedented situation.

긴급 기도 요청: 노르웨이 

위클리프노르웨이 대표가 다음과 같은 긴급 중보기도들을 요청해 왔습니다: 본국으로 대피한 모든 선교사들이 임지로 다시 돌아갈 수 있을 때까지 거처를 잘 찾을 수 있도록, 사역 비용이 저렴한 지역에서 재정이 부족한 사역자들이 일 할 수 있도록, 원격으로 사역할 수 있는 새로운 환경에 잘 적응하도록, 현지에 잔류하는 선교사들이 이동중지, 코로나바이러스 전파의 위협과 여러가지 제한된 환경에서도 사역을 잘 섬길 수 있도록 기도해주세요. 여러나라에 파송된 사역자들을 가진 단체의 지도자들이 이런 전례없는 상황에서 사역자들을 잘 돌볼 수 있는 지혜주시기를 간절히 손모아주세요.

 Several young people, recent grads from two- and four-year educational programs, are participating in the first 11-month JAARS Fellows program. Pray that their experiences at JAARS will help them determine if God is calling them to full-time mission service.

최근 2년 또는 4년 간의 대학 과정을 수료한 몇몇 젊은이들이 11개월 간의 잘스 펠로우 프로그램에 참여하고 있습니다. 잘스에서의 경험을 통하여 하나님이 그들을 전임 선교 사역으로 부르시는지를 분별하는 데 도움이 되도록 기도해주세요.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippian 4:6, NIV)

아무 것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라. (빌립보서 4:6, 개역개정)

Pray that God will mightily use our instructors to provide effective, useful training for those preparing for missions work.
