Online Prayer Meeting

Through the monthly online prayer meeting held last Saturday, August 8, we thanked God for the Menya people of Papua New Guinea (PNG). We realized again that it is God's ministries through the sacrifice of dedicated missionaries and national workers as we heard how they received the Word of God in their mother tongue. Please pray that more committed intercessory prayer warriors will rise up for the Bibleless people groups, and that Bible translation ministries will yield abundant fruits by God's grace in the midst of the Pandemic. There are 840 languages In PNG and Bible translation (BT) projects are currently undergoing for 142 languages; and we still need to get BT projects begun for 300 languages. Pray also for the Joyce and Joseph Park who have been working with the Kaninuwa people in PNG.

온라인 기도회

지난 토요일 (8월 8일)에 있었던 월례 온라인 기도모임을 통해서, 파푸아뉴기니 (PNG) 맨야 부족을 인해 하나님께 감사드렸습니다. 그들이 자기네 말로 된 하나님의 말씀을 받게되기까지 얼마나 긴 세월이 필요했고, 헌신된 선교사들의 희생이 얼마나 중요했던지, 다시금 하나님의 일하심 이었음을 깨닫게 되었씁니다. 성경없는 부족들을 위한 관심과 더 많은 중보기도 용사들이 일어나도록, 대유행병중에도 하나님의 은혜로 성경 번역 사역에 계속적인 열매가 있도록 기도해주세요. PNG에 있는 840개 언어 중에 현재 142개 언어에 성경번역 사역이 진행중이고, 아직도 300개 언어를 위한 번역 사역이 필요한 실정입니다. 또한 PNG에서 카니누와 부족과 함께 섬기고 있는 박요섭/조선향 선교사 부부를 위해서도 기도해주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

Training institute: After the initial shut-down due to Covid-19, training courses at the institute have resumed with local government permission.  The grammar analysis and anthropology courses are completed, and the translation courses are now underway (including semantics, discourse analysis, and translation principles). Pray for the trainees’ and facilitators’ health as the institute moves forward in the midst of a turbulent season of disease. Pray also for the four men from two new language communities who are beginning the big task of developing an alphabet for their languages, for insight and wisdom in this foundational task. Now that these four non-Christian men are interacting with the Christian staff and students at the institute, one of them is seeking to learn more about the Lord. Pray that God will be at work in his heart to draw him to Himself.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

언어문화 연구소: 대유행병으로 인해 봉쇄 조치된 이후, 연구소의 훈련 과정이 현지 정부의 허가를 받아 재개 되었습니다. 문법 분석과 인류학 코스는 완료되었고 번역 코스 (의미론, 담론 분석, 번역 원리등이 포함)가 개강 중입니다. 격동의 대유행병 상황가운데서 훈련생들과 조력자들의 건강을 위해 기도해주세요. 또한 자기네 모어 알파벳을 개발하는 큰 사역을 막 시작한 두 개의 새로운 언어 공동체에서 온 네 명의 남자들을 위해, 이 기초적인 과제에 임할 때 통찰력과 지혜 주시도록 손모아주세요. 이 네 사람의 타종교 신자들이 연구소의 기독교인들과 함께 일하는데, 그 중 한 사람이 주님에 대해 더 알기를 원합니다. 하나님께서 이 사람의 마음을 움직여서 주께로 나오는 역사가 나타나도록 기도해주세요.

Praying the Scriptures: Global
The Word of God from beginning to end tells us of God’s provision for us. His resources are unlimited. He has the ways and means to get us what we need to do his will. Pray for the Bible translation organizations worldwide that are experiencing funding limitations which hinder moving ahead fully with their work. Offer up to God in prayer his own precious words. He promises his Word will never return to him without accomplishing his divine purposes (Isaiah 55:11). Ask God to supply the Alliance organizations with an increase of "seed to sow" so they can be a part of a great harvest of righteousness (II Corinthians 9:10). Thank God for his abundant grace given to each Alliance organization so that they will have everything they need to do his will (II Corinthians 9:8).

말씀으로 기도: 전세계 

하나님의 말씀은 처음부터 끝까지 우리를 위한 하나님의 공급하심을 말해줍니다. 그분의 자원은 무한하며 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 데 필요한 것을 얻을 수 있는 모든 방법과 수단도 가지고 계십니다. 전 세계 성경 번역 단체들이 재정적인 어려움으로 인하여 사역을 온전히 감당하지 못함을 인하여 기도해주세요. 하나님이 주신 소중한 말씀으로 기도하십시다. 하나님의 기뻐하시는 뜻을 이루지 않고서는 결코 헛되이 돌아오지 아니할 것이라고 말씀으로 약속하십니다. (이사야 55:11) 국제 연대 단체들에게 "심을 것을" 주사 풍성하게 하시고 의의 열매를 더하게 하시도록 (고린도후서 9:10) 기도해주시고, 국제 연대 단체들에게 충만한 은혜를 부어주셔서 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 데 필요한 모든 것에 넘치게 하실 것을 믿으며 감사드립니다. (고린도후서 9:8)

Resourcing Bible translation: Papua New Guinea
Praise the Lord for the physical resources owned by the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association (PNGBTA). Pray for the leadership as they seek creative ways to develop and utilize these resources of land, buildings and other things in their care. Praise the Lord for these sources of income: the guest house, office space rentals and a meeting hall in Port Moresby. Rental income helps to meet some of the ministry’s needs. Pray for finance personnel as they follow up to collect outstanding rental fees owed to PNGBTA for use of these facilities. Ask the Lord to bless the PNGBTA staff with good management skills as stewards of these resources.

Ownership of the Kwadima II vessel has now been transferred from SIL-PNG to JAARS. Pray for those planning revitalized maritime service for Bible translation teams and other ministries in the Milne Bay area of Papua New Guinea in partnership with Living Water Mission.
