Joseph and Ju Hong: GBT Consultants for Church Engagement (CE), Korea

As Global Bible Translators (GBT or Wycliffe Korea) has the new Church Engagement team, Ju and Joseph are working with the new CE team members to develop ministry direction and programs to serve local churches and theological seminaries. They give thanks to God for the time they’ve had to reflect on the Mission of God and Mission of God’s People with the new Church Engagement team. The Hongs are also grateful for the growing reflection and sharing groups on the essence of the Church with the recently published book, ‘Resident But Alien: How The Early Church Grew’ (translated in Korean and edited by Joseph).  Please pray for Joseph as he prepares the missiology lecture for this fall semester at Handong Global University. Pray also for Ju that the participants of weekly Bible study led by her will reflect God's character in their life.

GBT 성경번역선교회의 교회동역팀이 새롭게 구성됨에 따라 홍 선교사 부부가 팀의 사역 방향과 교회 및 신학교들을 도울 프로그램 개발을 돕고 있습니다. GBT 교회동역팀과 함께 하나님의 선교와 하나님 백성의 선교를 묵상하며 사역 방향을 정하게 하심에 감사드리고, 홍 선교사가 편역한 책 ‘초대교회에 길을 묻다’를 교재로 여러 곳에서 나눔이 진행되며 교회의 본질에 대해 반추하게 하심을 감사드립니다. 9월부터 한동대 국제학생들을 위한 선교학 강의 준비가 잘 이뤄지도록, 함 선교사가 인도하는 주바라기 모임을 통해 참가자들 모두가 하나님의 성품을 더 닮게되도록 기도해주세요.

Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area (Do not forward or post it anywhere online)

“T” Project: Since May, we have been praying for the “T” leaders to obtain government certification in order to receive foreign funds through their bank. Praise the Lord that the local “T” organization was finally able after three years of effort and multiple applications to get the required documents from the relevant federal ministry so its bank account can receive funds from foreign donors, including the funds sent by Wycliffe Canada. Being able to make contact with a higher ranking official who had the authority to help was an answer to prayer too.

실크 로드 프로젝트: 성경번역, 보안지역 (수신자 이외에 배포하거나 온라인상에 게시하지 말아주세요)

"T" 프로젝트: 지난 5월부터 프로젝트 책임자들이 은행을 통해 오는 해외 송금을 받기 위한 정부 인증 절차를 위해 기도해 왔습니다. 지난 3년간의 노력과 여러 차례의 시도끝에 마침내 관련 중앙정부로 부터 필요한 인증서류를 받아, 위클리프 캐나다에서 보낸 자금을 포함한 외국 기부자(단체)들로 부터 송금한 재정 지원을 받을 수 있게 되었습니다. 도울 권한이 있는 고위 관료와 접촉할 수 있게 된 것도 기도의 응답이었습니다. 하나님을 찬송합니다!

Promoting Bible translation in churches: Bangladesh
Connections Bangladesh just finished facilitating an online training course, inspired by and about the life of a Bible translator. The course was a good way to promote Bible translation in the country. Praise God for his grace in growing this kind of partnership. Pray for more opportunities to partner with the churches in Bangladesh.

커넥션스방글라데시(선교단체)는 성경 번역가의 삶에 대한 영감을 받아 온라인 교육 과정을 막 마쳤는데, 이 과정은 이 나라에서 성경 번역을 홍보하는 좋은 방법이었습니다. 이러한 파트너십 관계를 확대 시켜주신 하나님의 은혜를 찬송합니다. 방글라데시의 교회들과 협력 할 수 있는 더 많은 기회들이 있도록 손모아주세요.

Relationship building with the Prime Minister: Tonga
Maxy Koloamatangi, Executive Director for Wycliffe Tonga Missions (WTM), along with the Board chair and vice chair, presented to the Prime Minister of Tonga the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Niuafo’ou language. Praise the Lord for this opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister on 23 March. He was encouraged and assured them of his government’s support. Pray that this relationship between the government and WTM will be strengthened in mutual trust and encouragement.

위클리프통가 (WTM)의 대표인 맥씨 선교사는 이사회 의장, 부의장과 함께 통가 총리에게 니우아포 부족어로된 마태, 마가, 누가및 요한 복음서를 전달했습니다. 지난 3 월 23일 총리를 만날 기회를 주신 주님을 찬양합니다. 총리는 격려를 받고 정부의 지원을 보장했습니다. 정부와 WTM의 이러한 관계가 상호 신뢰와 격려가운데 강화되도록 기도해주세요.

Pray for the Multigeneration Engagement team who staff Mission Teams, CrossVenture, Race for Possible, and Brigade Air events. With many events and programs canceled due to COVID-19, they must deal with disappointment and regroup to figure out how best to serve JAARS.

미션팀(교회 단기선교), 크로스벤쳐(청소년 선교훈련), 가능한경주(모금), 그리고 항공여단(청소년 항공훈련)등 여러 프로그램을 섬기는 다세대 협력팀을 위해 기도해주세요. 코로나로 인해 많은 행사와 프로그램들이 취소된 상황에서 이로 인한 실망감에 대처하고 잘스를 가장 잘 섬길 수 있는 방법을 찾기 위해 한 마음이 되어야 합니다.

The Africa IT team conducted an online Africa IT Connect Conference in late May. Pray for the IT specialists who attended as they use their new skills to further God’s Kingdom work.

아프리카 정보통신팀은 지난 5월말 아프리카 정보통신 컨퍼런스를 온라인으로 진행했습니다. 이번 모임에 참석한 정보통신 전문가들이 새로운 기술들을 활용해 하나님 나라 사역를 위해 잘 섬기도록 손모아주세요.

Pray for the health and safety of translators and language workers impacted by COVID-19 worldwide as they strive to continue or resume their Bible translation efforts.
