이규준 / 한진숙 선교사: 디아스포라 협력 디렉터, 캐나다

이규준 선교사는 지난 11월 9일에 크리 원주민 성경번역 사역자를 위한 웍샵에 참석하여 이사야서 40장 1-6절 말씀을 통해 디아스포라 팀이 기도 동역자로서 원주민 성경번역 사역을 위해 하나님의 대로를 건설하는 조력자 역할을 감당하는 것에 대해, 또한 그 이미지를 반대로 사용해 번역사역에 있어서 원주민 성경번역 사역자들이 이 웍샵을 통해 정확성/명료성/자연스러움에 최선을 다해 주시도록 격려했습니다. 지난 수요일부터 토요일까지 밴쿠버를 방문해 캔아이엘 이사회를 잘 섬긴 것과 동역자들을 만나 교제한 것에 감사드리고, 주말과 주일에 캘거리에서 그곳을 방문 중인 위클리프 태국의 타라왓 선교사와 캘거리 기도팀과 교제하고 있습니다. 캘거리한인장로교회와 위클리프 태국의 킹덤프렌드십 관계가 계속해서 발전하고 하나님나라를 위해 함께 더 잘 헌신하도록 기도해 주세요.

Gyoojun & Jinsook Lee: Director of Diaspora Engagement, Canada

Gyoojun Lee attended the workshop for Mother Tongue Translators (MTT) on Thursday, Nov 9 and spoke from Isaiah 40:1-6 about the role of the diaspora team as prayer partners in building God's Highway as First Nations MTTs translate the Bible in their various languages. He then used that same image to encourage them to strive for accuracy/clarity/naturalness in their translation ministry utilizing what they learned during the workshop. We are thankful that Gyoojun could also meet with the CanIL board and had fellowship with partners in his visit to Vancouver last week. He also met and had fellowship with Wycliffe Thailand director Tharawat and the Calgary prayer team when he was in Calgary on the weekend. Please pray that the Kingdom Friendship relationship between Calgary Korean Presbyterian Church (CKPC) and Wycliffe Thailand will continue to grow and that we will be able to better serve God together..

크리 원주민 성경 번역가 웍샵: 구엘프, 온타리오

크리 및 여타 원주민 성경번역 사역자들을 위한 웍샵(MTT)이 지난 11월 6-10일에 구엘프 바이블 컨퍼런스 센터에서 열렸습니다. 나스카피 성경번역 팀과 특별히 캘거리 동부 지역에 있는 싴시카(Siksiká) 지역에 사는 블랙풋 원주민 팀이 처음으로 참석했고, 돌아가자 마자 다시 회의를 열어 오는 12월 초에 자체적으로 웍샵을 갖기로 했습니다. 하나님께서 계속해서 블랙풋 공동체 안에 말씀의 역사를 일으키도록 기도해 주세요. 이미 신약 성경을 완역하고, 구약 번역 중인 나스카피 언어는 언어개발 발전 단계에 있어서 이미 3 세대가 사용하고 있는 것은 물론, 초등학교 3년 과정까지 나스카피 언어로 공부하고 있고, 마을에서는 매일 나스카피 방송이 송출되는 등, 크리 언어군에 긍정적인 롤 모델이 되고 있습니다. 더 많은 캐나다 교회들이 크리 성경번역 운동과 점차 캐나다 내 모든 원주민들을 위해 확장되고 있는 캐나다 내 원주민들을 위한 성경번역 운동에 동참하게 되도록 기도해 주세요.

The First Nations Translator Workshop: Guelph, Ontario

The 2023 First Nations Mother Tongue Translators (MTT) Workshop for Cree and Indigenous Initiatives was held November 6-10 at the Guelph Bible Conference Center. The Naskapi Bible translation team attended as usual, and in addition the Blackfoot team from the Siksiká community, located east of Calgary, attended for the first time. Upon their return, they met again to plan their own workshop in early December. Please pray that God will continue to work through His Word in the Blackfoot community. With the New Testament already completed and the Old Testament in progress, the Naskapi language is at an advanced stage of language development, with three generations already speaking it, schools teaching it up to the third grade, and daily Naskapi broadcasts in the villages. It is a positive role model for the Cree language group. Please pray for more Canadian churches to join the Cree Bible translation initiative and the growing movement to translate the Bible for all Indigenous peoples in Canada.

박요섭 / 조선향 선교사: 파푸아뉴기니 카니누와족 성경번역

박 선교사 부부의 마을 집이 낡아서 재건축중인데, 건축에 필요한 모든 자재가 잘 구해지고 안전하게 잘 지을 수 있도록 기도해 주시고 내년초에 자문위원 점검을 받게 될 요한복음과 요한 1, 2, 3서의 카니누와 번역본 점검과 영어 역번역본을 잘 준비할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

Pray for the Parks as they rebuild their house in the village, that all the materials will be available and that it will be built safely. Pray also for good preparation for a consultant check early next year for the Kaninuwa translation of the Gospel of John, 1, 2, and 3 John and the English back translations of those books.

실크로드의 기도 요청들은 보안 지역의 척박한 땅을 일구는 사역들을 중보하는 기도입니다. 사역팀이 지속 가능한 문해 사역과 교육 개발을 섬기며 매우 실질적인 방법으로 공동체를 사랑하는데, 이로써 사람들의 삶이 변화되고 주께 영광 돌리게 되리라 믿습니다.

K 프로젝트: 프로젝트 리더들이 폭우에도 불구하고 타지역으로 이주한 언어 공동체 사람들을 만나기 위해 북쪽으로 고된 여정을 떠날 수 있었던 것은 참 감사한 일입니다. 현지인들은 언어 전환에 대한 두려움 때문에 지난 2년간 프로젝트 리더들의 방문을 요청해 왔습니다. K 사람들은 자기네 언어 개발에 대해 듣고 기뻐하며 문자를 보존하기 위한 노력에 전념하기로 약속했습니다. 계절풍 폭우로 인해 작년과 같은 홍수 피해가 발생하지 않도록, 한정된 자원으로 최대한 홍수 예방 조치를 취할 수 있도록, 그리고 어려운 이 나라의 경제 상황이 안정될 수 있도록 기도해 주세요. 높은 인플레이션으로 국민들이 큰 어려움을 겪고 있습니다. 사역자 가족의 건강 문제를 위해 기도해 주셔서 감사합니다. Silk Road Ascent (SRA): Bible translation in a sensitive area(Do not forward or post it anywhere online)
The following prayer requests are prayers for the soil tilling efforts in this sensitive area. By serving the community in sustainable literacy and education development, the team is loving the community in very practical ways which pave the way for sustainable Bible translation work, which we believe the Lord will use to transform lives for His glory.

K Project: Praise that the project leaders were able to make the arduous trip to the north, despite heavy rains, to meet with communities of speakers who had migrated out of the language area. Local people have requested that they come for the last two years because of the fear of language shift. The people were happy to hear about the development of the written language and committed themselves to efforts to preserve it. Pray that the monsoon rains would not cause the same flooding devastation as last year. Pray that preventative measures can be taken as much as possible with the very limited resources available. Pray that the economic situation in the country would stabilize. The people face great hardship with high inflation. Thank you for praying for the FP’s family health issues. Please ask for God’s wisdom and grace on the K project and the team members.

구글미트(Google Meet)를 통해 묵상과 기도를 함께 나눔: 파푸아뉴기니

파푸아뉴기니성경번역협회(PNGBTA)를 섬기고 있는 사역자들은 매일 첫 시간을 묵상과 기도로 시작합니다. 전국에 있는 4개의 사무소에서 동일한 아침 묵상 시간을 지키고 있습니다. 지난 8월 인사부는 팀워크를 세우고 장려하기 위해 매주 월요일, 수요일과 금요일 아침 다른 모든 센터의 사역자들이 구글미트 엡을 통해 함께 만나는 새로운 제안을 내놓았습니다. 언어관련 사역팀도 가능한 함께 참여하도록 하며 이 기도 모임을 통해 팀의 연합과 팀워크를 강화하고 있습니다. 모든이들의 안정적인 인터넷 연결을 위해 기도해 주세요. 함께 성경을 읽고, 찬양, 예배하고 기도하며 서로를 세워주고 힘을 얻게되는 이 구글 플랫폼을 인하여 주님께 감사드립니다.

Google Meet provides a platform for devotions and prayer: Papua New Guinea

Devotions and prayer take the first hour of each working day for staff serving with the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association (PNGBTA). Each of the four offices around the country observe this time separately. In August, the human resources department rolled out a new initiative to encourage and build team spirit among the staff. Now every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, staff from all the other centres connect via Google Meet for this hour together. Language personnel are also encouraged to participate as they can. This is building unity and strengthening teamwork. Pray for stable internet connections for everyone concerned. Thank the Lord for this platform to build and strengthen one another through the corporate reading of Scripture, praise, worship and prayer.

신실한 기도: 캐나다

최근 위클리프캐나다는 허입된지 1년부터 60년동안 섬겨온 많은 사역자들을 축하하는 시간을 가졌습니다. 50년, 60년 동안 선교사로 헌신해온 이들의 이야기를 나누며 위클리프 사역자들은 이 일이 처음부터 하나님과 하나님의 사람들의 기도에 의탁해 왔다는 사실을 거듭 상기했습니다. 팀원들은 수년 간 신실한 기도 동역자들을 주신 하나님께 감사드리며 성경 번역 사역을 위해 캐나다 교회가 연합하여 열정적, 지속적, 전략적인 기도에 동참할 수 있도록 계속해서 동참해 줄 것을 요청합니다. 매 주 발송되는 살아있는 기도 이메일과 월간 중보기도 파트너 이메일을 통해 점점 더 많은 기도 동역자들이 참여하고 있습니다. 사역자들은 또한 성경 번역을 위한 쉬지않는 기도 플랫폼에서 매주 한 시간 동안 프로젝트를 위해 함께 기도하는 법을 배우며 하나님께서 함께 일하심을 경험하고 기뻐합니다. 하나님께서 성령의 인도하심따라 신실하게 기도하도록 인도하시는 동안 기도의 마음이 자라고 깊어지도록, 위클리프캐나다 사역자들과 캐나다 기도 동역자들이 함께 세계 성경 번역 운동을 통해 하나님 나라가 임하고 그분의 뜻이 이루어지며 하나님이 영광을 받는 것을 점점 더 많이 보게 되도록 기도해 주세요.

Faithful in prayer: Canada

Wycliffe Canada recently celebrated numerous staff who have served in Bible translation ministries from one to six decades. As stories were shared of those who have served 50 and 60 years, Wycliffe staff members were reminded again and again that from the beginning, this work has depended on God and the prayers of God’s people. Staff members thank God for faithful prayer partners through the years and ask him to continue to call the church in Canada to join in united, fervent, sustained and strategic prayer for Bible translation ministries. Increasing numbers of partners participate through the weekly Prayer Alive email and monthly Intercessory Prayer Partner emails. Staff also rejoice in how God is at work as they learn to pray together for projects through a weekly hour in the Unceasing Prayer for Bible Translation platform. Ask that prayerfulness will grow and deepen as God teaches them to pray together, led by the Holy Spirit. Pray that together Wycliffe Canada staff and Canadian prayer partners will increasingly see God’s kingdom come and his will done, and God being glorified, throughout the world Bible translation movement.

As JAARS partners with Faith Comes by Hearing, providing technical equipment for their Oral Bible Translation projects, pray that God would use this translated Scripture to bless language groups worldwide.

Join us in offering Thanksgiving prayers to the Lord. “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever” (Psalm 107:1).

Pray that recent IT consultant visits in Tanzania, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso to review IT operations, introduce new network equipment, and instruct on best practices will contribute to more-reliable IT service at these centers.
