Unceasing Prayer for Bible Translation (UP)

UP is a 24x7x365 online prayer movement led by many global churches, mission agencies, and prayer ministries. It was launched on Jan 1, 2022 and each organization or team participates in a one-hour prayer session for Bible translation, and Wycliffe Canada has signed up at 3 pm (EST), on Tuesdays. This Tuesday, July 5, we will be praying for the Kinsha* project, held in one of the sensitive areas. 끊임없는 기도 운동은 지난 금년 1월 1일부터 시작된 것으로, 세계 여러 교회와 선교 단체들과 기도운동 단체 들이 연합하여, 매 주 밤낮 일년 365일 쉬지 않고 성경번역 선교를 위해 기도하는 운동입니다. 위클리프캐나다는 동부시간 기준 매 주 화요일 오후 3시에, 한 시간 동안 기도하기로 했습니다. 7월 9일에는 보안 지역인 킨샤 프로젝트를 위해 기도합니다. 많은 분들이 참여하도록 기도해 주세요.

Help print a Bible for a Peruvian Today

The Eastern Apurimac Quechua Bible is complete! Wycliffe Canada has started an exciting Bible printing campaign to mark this great milestone. It costs $23 to print an Eastern Apurimac Quechua Bible. Our hope is for the Canadian Church to take part in this historic moment by helping them print these new Bibles. A gift of $23 can have an eternal impact, by placing someone’s very first Bible in their hands! Wycliffe Canada has committed to printing 5,000 Bibles. Kingdom Friendship 킹덤 프렌드십

Cree initiative: Oji-Cree team

Praise God that the team is functioning well together when they are together. During Holy Week (Easter), readings from the Oji-Cree translation were read every evening at the church. Community members shared that some people have collected stacks of the drafted Scripture readings from church over the years so they can have Scripture in their language at home. The Windsor family is preparing to visit British Columbia in the fall of 2022. Please pray that God will help them to translate their experience in Kingfisher Lake into a message that helps build unity across God's people in Canada, indigenous and non-indigenous alike.

 

크리 원주민 성경 번역 운동: 오지-크리 사역팀

펜데믹 이후 사역팀이 함께 모여 일하므로 잘 기능하고 있음을 인하여 하나님을 찬양합니다. 지난 부활절 주간, 교회에서 매일 저녁 오지 크리 성경 번역본이 낭독되었습니다. 마을 사람들 중에는 자기네 말로 된 성경 갖기를 원하여 수년에 걸쳐 교회에서 낭독된 초벌 번역 사본들을 수집했었다고 간증했습니다. 윈저 선교사 가족은 금년 가을에 고향인 비씨주를 방문할 준비를 하고 있습니다. 원저 선교사 부부가 킹피셔레이크 원주민 마을에서의 사역 경험을 원주민이 아닌 캐나다 성도들과 한마음을 이루는데 도움이 되는 선교 보고회 메세지로 번역되도록 하나님이 도와주시길 기도해 주세요.

Community participates in Old Testament translation: Papua New Guinea 
From 11 to 29 April, the translation team from the Somba-Siawari language community in Papua New Guinea worked hard with consultant Duncan Kasokason to check the Old Testament books of Deuteronomy and Zechariah. Leaders of the team took the initiative to host this checking session in Lae City. This was the first time they held a checking event outside of the language community. They diligently raised the funds needed to take care of all the costs involved. The Somba-Siawari community in Lae provided lunch each day by means of their youth and women's prayer groups. Praise God for community participation in these tangible ways to encourage and accelerate the translation project. Pray for those continuing to translate the Old Testament. They plan to check the books of Numbers and Song of Songs in August. The Somba-Siawari New Testament was launched in 1996.

 

공동체의 구약 성경 번역 참여: 파푸아뉴기니

4월 11일부터 29일까지 파푸아뉴기니 솜바-시아와리 언어 공동체의 번역팀은 자문위원 던컨 선교사와 함께  신명기와 스가랴서 점검을 위해 열심을 다했습니다. 번역팀 리더들이 라에 시티에서 이 점검 작업을 주도적으로 주최했는데 마을 밖에서 점검 작업을 한 것은 이번이 처음입니다. 또한 소요되는 모든 경비를 처리하는 데 필요한 자금을 열심히 모았고 라에 시티의 솜바-시아와리 공동체도 청소년부와 여전도회 기도팀이 협력하여 매일 점심을 제공했습니다. 번역 프로젝트를 격려하고 가속화하기 위해 이러한 가시적 방법으로 지역 사회가 참여하게 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 계속해서 구약 성경 번역에 힘쓰고 이는 이들을 위해 기도해 주세요. 8월에는 민수기와 아가서를 점검할 계획입니다. 솜바-시아와리 신약 성경은 1996년에 봉헌되었습니다. 

 

Thirsting for God’s Word: Australia 
The Anmatyerr language is spoken by up to 3,000 people in Central Australia. Give thanks that they have 11 books of the New Testament available in their language. Thank God that the New Testament books distributed last year were well received and that the Anmatyerr people are thirsting for God’s Word. An Easter Story painting workshop was conducted in March by David and Ming Fang Strickland. Pray that the redeeming message of Easter will continue to flow from the paintings at all times of the year.

호주 중부에서 최대 3천 명 정도가 안마티에르어를 사용합니다. 이들이 자기내 말로 된 11권의 신약성경을 가지고 있음에 감사합니다. 작년에 배포된 신약성경 책들이 사람들에게 좋은 반응이 있어 안마티에르 사람들이 하나님의 말씀을 갈망하고 있음을 인하여 감사드립니다. 지난 3 월에 데이빗과 밍 선교사의 주도로 부활절 이야기 그림 워크숍을 잘 마쳤습니다. 부활절의 구원 메시지가 이 그림을 통해 일년 내내 계속 흘러나와 감동을 주도록 기도해 주세요.
