Joseph & Joyce Park: Kaninuwa Bible translation, PNG / on return assignment
Praise the Lord! Joseph and Joyce arrived in Calgary in July and have settled well as the base camp of their return assignment. The team successfully completed a remote checking of Matthew chapters 1 through 10 with Kaninuwa translators (Jack and Levi) online in August. And the Parks printed and sent out a booklet for village checking. Please pray for Soktes, that he will be healed and rejoin the team as soon as possible. Pray also for Jack and Levi to be able to type and use electronic devices (laptops and smartphones) well and work in the empty spot of the Soktes.

박 선교사 부부가 지난 7월부터 캘거리에 도착하여 본국 사역의 베이스 캠프로 잘 정착하게 하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 마태 복음 1장부터 10장까지를 온라인으로 연결된 현지의 카니누와 번역가들 (잭과 레비)과의 원격 점검을 지난 8월중에 잘 마치고 마을 사람들 점검을 위한 책자도 인쇄해서 발송했습니다. 이번 점검에 참여할 예정이었던 속테스가 건강문제로 치료중인데 속히 치유되어 팀에 합류할 수 있도록, 속테스의 빈자리에 잭과 레비가 타이핑이나 전자 기기(노트북과 스마트폰) 사용법들을 잘 훈련하여 동역할 수 있도록 기도해 주세요.

Scripture through arts initiative: New Zealand
Pray for Jenny Eirena as she leads an exciting new Wycliffe New Zealand ministry initiative called ‘Scripture Through Arts’. She recruited a talented team who are writing and will be performing through music and drama. They will be using stories from the Bible and stories that demonstrate the impact of God’s Word in the lives and communities where translated Scriptures are available. Pray that God will use this exciting new initiative to bless the church and promote the Bible translation ministry in New Zealand.

Progress against the odds: Kenya
Praise God for the recently completed review of the books of Deuteronomy, Malachi, and Joshua by the Daasanach Bible translators and the community reviewers. This stage in Bible translation calls for members of the language community to check for clarity, accuracy, cohesion, coherence, and naturalness of the translated Scriptures. Despite conflicts and severe droughts causing havoc to the community and resulting in delays in the project (which began in 1983), staff at Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) have remained focused on completing the Daasanach language Bible. The Daasanach New Testament (celebrated and launched in 2014) is now in use in the community. The books of Esther and Ruth have been completed, and several other Old Testament books drafted. Pray for peace, unity, and rain in Illeret, where the Daasanach reside, as the translation progresses.

최근에 다사나치부족 성경 번역가들과 공동체 점검 위원들이 신명기, 말라기, 여호수아서 번역 점검을 마치게 하신 하나님께 찬양을 드립니다. 성경 번역에서 이 단계는 언어 공동체 구성원들이 번역된 성경의 명확성, 정확성, 연관성과 일관성 및 자연스러움을 확인하게 됩니다. 분쟁과 극심한 가뭄이 지역 사회에 혼란을 일으키고 그 결과 (1983년에 시작된) 프로젝트가 지연되었음에도 불구하고, 성경 번역 및 문해 협회 (BTL) 팀원들은 계속해서 다사나치어 성경 완역에 집중해 왔습니다. 2014 년에 봉헌된 다사나치 신약이 공동체에서 사용되고 있으며 에스더와 룻기가 완역되었고, 다른 여러 구약성경의 초벌 번역이 이루어 졌습니다. 번역이 진행되는 동안 다사나치 부족들이 거주하고 있는 일레렛 지역에 평화와 연합 그리고 단비가 내리도록 함께 기도해 주세요.
